Morning/afternoon me hearties, hope this fine day is treating you well!

Did you use solder flux? When I solder tabs, I usually tin the wire and the tab edge before hand, then when I am ready to connect the two I put some solder on my iron tip, hold the wire against the tab edge and melt them together.

If you need any replacement parts just let me know and I will get them off to you, no charge for forum friends.

Yes I used the flux .... I dont need any parts , thank you though. I would love to tell you what I have done with the box but will much rather show you when I am done. I am taking long because I spend most my time with my son, bit Belive I will be done with sanding and try to coat it tonight .

I am undecided if I should just coat the outside or the whole thing. Or if I should have the connection glued down before I coat . Idk yet just undecided

Ah perfect, you have answered one of my main questions; about if it was possible to adjust the VV when you are out and about. Thank you violetvoo.
I love the look and shape of the mod, it seems very pocket friendly. My only hesitation is whether to go for the great deal ($125 now), or wait and get one custom made to my taste.

Hi there, I am very interested in getting one of the Mark-IV VV mods for sale on the the Red Sky site. $125 for a VV wood box mod of this quality (seeing the various vids and reading on this thread let me know about the quality) is just a silly good deal.

I do have a couple of questions though. I didn't find mentioned anywhere how the VV works. From the vids it looks like there is a small adjustment screw inset into the backside of the PV. I assume that this needs a small screwdriver to adjust it. If so, is there enough space inside the mod to store that screwdriver when you are out and about?

Also there has been mention of a catch cup, so if you over over squonk, the juice just gets sucked back into the atty. It doesn't appear as if the Mark-IVs for sale on the site have this feature. If I was to custom order one in order to get this feature(and to pick out my own wood, inlay combo) how much more would it cost and how long would it take?

Those are the only questions that I have at this point. Any other info from some of the owners would be greatly appreciated though.

I am ready to order one of these mods right now. They look very well designed and made. It also is nice that I don't have go through some ridiculous point and click race in order to buy one.

Awesome, glad you got some answers. Yeah, as far as the tilt and shoot system, the dripwell is there but not very necessary as long as you tilt it upside down and don't squeeze for more than a few seconds there is no leaking.

I have made a few stand and fill mods and there are some people who prefer that style so a catch cup is mandatory for it. I am not sure if I should put catch cups on the tilt and shoots as it is not a necessary part, but, we do like our shiny bits!

I have gotten away from doing custom orders and have done virtually all of the sales from premade boxes I have just posted for sale. Even when I accepted preorders they were only a small percentage of sales, so altho I might open up preorders in the future, the most I do now is take 'requests' with no promised delivery date but to be included in the next batch of that type of mods.

I will be including a small magnet holding a adjustment bit for the VV models in the next generation of mods as it has been requested and I also now offer a inexpensive Multimeter on the website for sale at my cost for those who need one.

Did I cover everything? Arrrr...

Finally on my way home, but sadly this time there will be no package from the Cap'n. Sad pirate.

You still have a chance for a late present.

I will be picking a random post number for a labor-day weekend prize.

I'll use post numbers starting from midnight friday night thru midnight monday night.

I will pick it midnight (my time) monday night and the winner will get a silver key (the pick of any item on the website for free). It's been a while since I had a give away. Second prize will be a Mark-IV 18650 DIY Kit.

Yo ho ho!
