Yeah, thats a one of a kind piece of Koa there, and it's almost like working on balsa wood in some spots so I stabilized it alot and coated it heavy with finish to make it stronger as being so spalted makes the grain very weak.
Since we're daydreaming, what endcap would go good with the #1 Ziricote? I think Amazon Rosewood or Bloodwood maybe.
I've had a couple people ask about the catch cups. The source I am using is Digi-Key, here is the page they are on. I am using the G13 style as they are the large ones. The Chrome plated ones are out of stock now until 10/14/2011. Fortunately they had the polished aluminum ones in stock and they look pretty sharp too.

Avast, here are the available choices for what I'm calling batch #5.
Once production begins I am estimating 7-10 days to completion if there are no delays.
Base price of the Mark 5.1 Cutlass is $179. Certain wood choices may add to that price and are indicated in the Main Body Wood picture if so. (The little 'Skull & Crossbones' indicates it is no longer available).
When the build is complete and they have passed final testing I will post pics of the complete mod and if you approve I will send a Paypal invoice for payment.
Choose Main body wood, end cap wood, Hardware type and edge (round or octagon) and PM me your choices. I will confirm and put you on 'the list'.

...don't even know how to pronounce the chakte viga wood Actually, if that Bloodwood could be used for the body then I'd choose that with the Macassar Ebony ends

How about Bocote with Bocote ends? That happens to be one of the extra ones I made this batch
I just took a few. You would need to select your hardware- Nickel, SS or black switch and polished aluminum or black catch cup.
