Tell em P. I remember the Christmas the family jumped in the car to go to grandma's and we all had shorts and tank tops on.
My poor hubby, who works tirelessly as a letter carrier, is at the ER getting X-rays for a possible broken right wrist. He fell this morning outside the post office AND delivered mail all day so that his customers wouldn't be disappointed. His post master and supervisor are angry with him because he fell, yet there was no sand or salt on the ice to prevent it. Trust me, he's one of the best letter carriers the post office is lucky to have. It makes me sooo mad!!!
Well, it's not broken, sprained and bruised.
When it happened, he knew he was hurt and asked the postmaster how to go about going to the ER AFTER work so that it would be covered by work because our copay for an ER visit is expensive, $150. The postmaster said, "Well, it costs us money, too." Can you imagine?

Sounds like they are too lazy to fill out the pile of paperwork. As a employer injuries suck. Takes me a full day to deal with all the stuff involved with a hurt employee. In the end it the employers job so no reason for them to be crybabies.....My poor hubby, who works tirelessly as a letter carrier, is at the ER getting X-rays for a possible broken right wrist. I know in the hospitality industry its hard to find good help. We often deal with subpar people because theres noone better in the pool. Everyone says they need work but when you offer them a job at a good wage they suddenly dont want one. I interviewed 34 people a few months ago and offered 10 a job before someone took it. The rest just wanted me to sign their unemployment sheets....That postmaster needs an unpaid, permanent vacation. I don't understand how, in this economy, people like that have good jobs when there are better people who can do them.
Really glad its minor. Breaks suck! BTW its a total lie about it costing them money. It costs them nothing. They have workers comp for a reason. They pay it every month regardless. The only way they pay more is if they have a unreasonable number of injuries that raises their rates.Well, it's not broken, sprained and bruised.

Nope no reason to be sorry about itThanks, everyone for your support. Hubby's wrist is so swollen and painful. I don't know how he'll deliver mail today, but he's tough. He's seeing his primary care doc today. Sorry for my whining, but this thread just happened to be open when this happened, and I needed to tell someone, ya know? I'm done venting about the post office now. We are very grateful for a good job. He actually loves his actual job.
On another note, Cappy sanded down the bottom of the tank wells in the 2 Destroyers I got. They've been stuck in Tampa since 2 a.m. on Dec. 20th. Aaarrrgggggh....
