That's sad and funny at the same time landlord. More sad maybe.
Agreed. That was very good of him to fit you in the next batch!I for one am happy to be delayed until batch #10. It gave me more time to find wood like I like. I just hope it's suitable. If it's not, it's going to make an awesome paper weight!

Okey dokey, here are the final pics although I have not yet had them under the buffing wheel;

not really i bought to be my top and bottom cap, but its stabilized.. Cappy no like stabilized...
Would you rather have the style with a old and new RSM slot?
what kind of stabilization? There are two types. He mentioned open cell, but closed cell stabilization might be different.
My piece is type B. closed cell!
I totally would as I'll have both types of RSM and don't need so many atty holes, but I was thinking it'd be quite late to ask since you're planning on shipping them on Tuesday. Plus I didn't want to add any more non-paying work.
Aaaaah. The guy in Alaska? He has an amazing selection.
In the future when I get wood that I don't like the feel of, I will just send it back with an apology methinks![]()
One of my worries with any stabilized wood is if its too big a piece it can hide many voids and stuff, not good. All the mods I make now are 2x1" and if you get a piece 5 1/2" tall minimum I can make any mod from that. Of course a bit bigger than 2x1 would be preferable as smaller than those dimensions would make it not usable.
Also, when it comes to stabilized wood, it needs to be densely filled or the wood is going to be soft and kinda mushy when I cut into it. It will suck up alot of finish and still be a bit weak when done, especially the thin door.
If you get it and it feels very light like balsa wood, then I am probably gonna have problems with it.

That seems extremely fair. It would suck to spend the time working it only to find that you wasted your time. Fwiw, if he got the wood where I think he did, it feels like a brick.
Sweet RSM dreams to all!
Hmmm... Is there a way to make a pink one?
Easily done, 15 minutes of work and ta-da! (I spaced the new RSM slot so I can just route a new hole right over the existing atty holes and not do a whole new one).
