Not that I am going to change my life, but the exploding battery story got me wondering. The switching regulator in a vv mod serves as added protection, correct?

I would hate to lose any of my RSMs in an explosion.

I haven't heard the story, but the regulator is protected from overload.

Here's something for the late night crowd, I just posted these guys on the website. Bunch of Dreadnoughts ...

Ahhh, I see, and one battery detonating made the news? Kinda makes you think, of the hundreds of thousands of ecigs of all types made, if this is the first incident of such an accident I feel even better about using one.

I know. Kind of stupid really, but a lot of news sources are running with it. The comments are even more asinine. I wish the news would also run stories on all the people who have quit smoking as a result of vaping rather than the guy who blew his face off with what were probably unprotected, inappropriately used batteries.

Maybe this is something you should see too, Cappy: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-mods-update-february-2012-a.html#post5327522
No wood mods. :)
But more than 1 incident.:(

Ah, very interesting indeed, I had not noticed that post. For people very concerned about the issue, I will have to test one of the 5v batteries available and see if that single cell will run (limited to 5v of course) the VV circuit in a RSM.

Edit: One other note of interest, is that the design of the RSM, and probably alot of other box mods allow the whole door panel/side panel to be simply pushed out if there is adequate pressure inside the box. No chance of a contained detonation with that at least.

Another great looking batch Cappy. But I am wondering did I miss something are you no longer doing batch runs where people specify a combination?

Yup, I stopped with the waiting list a while back. Most people just ordered a combination that I would have made anyway and managing the lists and trying to contact people and contact replacement people for those who had changed their minds was getting too time consuming. Also the last batch a large number of people changed their minds about their preorder and I just sold them on the website anyway.

That Ganadillo Mark-8 is so sweet..

Totally sweet, seen up close and personal it has such a vintage wood look to it and the wax makes it shine like a custom cabinet or something. I need to make more from Granadillo methinks.

I heard about the e-cig accident from someone at work yesterday and immediately thought, "Well, that'll definitely be a black mark against the e-cig industry and I'm sure the FDA will somehow weasel it into their anti-ecig campaigning!"

The dreadnoughts got mostly bought up fast today, think I may have to make fewer of the Mark-7 and Mark-9s and make more feeders as that still seems to be what people are going for, ah well.

Well, dinner done, time to go back to work for a while, arrrr.....

Edit: "dreadnoughts got mostly bought up fast" What the hell kind of sentence is that? Har har har...
