Let me state right off the top, I have no interest in moving to mechanical mods. I am thrilled with my MVP 2.0 and istick.

But out of interest, I've been reading some of the battery venting topics, and I'm a little spooked.

I treat my devices like my phone. Carry them in my pocket, use them, plug them in nightly by my night stand to charge. I don't abuse them, but I also don't treat them with kid gloves. I'm aware that these two devices have circuitry to detect out-of-band ohms, shorts and pressing the fire button to long.

Having said that, like all devices, they can't be 100% immune from failure.

Realisticly, do I have any measurable venting or "pipe bomb" concerns?
Is treating them like my phone adequate?
Is there proper maintenance or care, I should be doing but aren't?
Has any mainstream, regulated mods been known to vent?

Posted elsewhere, but worth repeating. Regulated mods are not immune from problems.

I have a Sig 30w regulated mod. I was noticing the battery rocking around inside (I thought), so I removed the base cap and adjusted a pin out. Seemed like the right adjustment. When I installed the battery it started getting hot really quickly. With some minor burn I got it apart and the battery wrapper was partly melted. Somehow it went to a dead short. The electronics couldn't help that. With the pin adjusted back in, all fine. Rattle on...
