It's pretty simple really (pun intended)

#1 if you can't use your backup for a hammer & still vape it, you have an unreliable backup.
#2 When uncle Sam says you can't buy anything to vape with anymore, you had better have something in your hand that will last forever.

    I don't want know. ..
I am going to buy beets on the way home though.
So, someone's going to eat them, please report back with the results. How am I supposed to perform statistical analysis on a R=1 (assuming @DC2 reports back)?
I have a couple in the fridge, was gonna juice them but......
    That works. Report back. R=3

Looks like we have the beginning of a fine experiment!

Lets see, first true mod I owned was a regulated mod, matter of fact still runs to this day, using it right now.
Second official mod was a mech with a simple vape safe fuse as I was getting into rebuilding protank coils and I needed the ability to pulse coils my SVD could not do without constantly turning it back on.
Third real mod was again another regulated, and MVP 1.0 of all things, after the use and abuse it went through, went to mod heaven, got a MVP 2.0 as my new work mod
Kept further chasing the rabbit down the rebuilding hole, got into dripping for flavor, regulated mods for general usage
Current ratio of mods I own, 7mech to 7 regulated devices

Both have their strengths and weaknesses, mechs are simple, repairable, easy to toy around with, my regulated mods work just as well, and if I want to chuck a cloud I can get just as good a cloud off a mech as I can with my Sig150w as the coils and watts output are equally adjusted for depending on the device powering. Should vapocalypse happen and my regulateds I prefer to use most of the time die, I got enough mechs, rebuildables, and supplies to last through it. All boils down to how you use these devices and all their components properly, each has their use and function, in the end they all keep me off the stinky sticks.

I can vape 100+ watts on a parallel unregulated, safely. Until the DNA200 there was no regulated box that could match a parallel unregulated for that combination of power, battery safety, and the ability to leverage current load across multiple batteries. Unregulated box mods have their place, but that place definitely shouldn't be in every vaper's arsenal. These are advanced devices that require the user to know the limits of their batteries and they should have utter confidence in their builds.

Personally I've grown to prefer unregulated. My vape is determined by my build and my batteries. It's my responsibility to know what I'm doing, and they are very simple devices so less failure potential. I just like the way an unregulated box vapes. Yeah there is about a 10w variation in how much power my batteries are delivering during the useful life of their charge, and I can't adjust the vape on the fly the way I can on my regulated. I still like unregulateds. All the other junk seems unnecessary once you vape one a little while.

As always like what you vape and don't give a damn what anyone else thinks, and try not to vent any batteries.

I like both. I use both. I like regulated mods because the vape stays the same until the battery gets weak unlike unregulated mods. That is the only reason I use my regulated mods more. However, I always carry my unregulated mod with me as my backup incase my cicuitry fails. An unregulated mod is simple and common sense is all thats needed to fix it if something goes wrong. Before anything though, study up on battery safety and ohms law whether you go regulated or unregulated.

I didn't see the point of a little blue screwdriver review. I learned here and was better off for knowing.
I didn't see the point of keeping 300 ton of wool for a mod, but @e-pipeman (and others) shined a light here.

As with everything in life, anything worth doing well just takes time, an open mind & a willingness to learn.:)

Guess your wife forgot to tell you the point of this.

What you could have learned was how long it took for your digestive tract to clear. That would have been a good thing to know. Guess you'll have to try again. Please report back. Inquiring minds wish to learn/know.:lol:

Wives like to play games with us. It's okay though and I usually have a good laugh with her. Then it's makeup time which is always good.

Oh I love beets.. they take forever on the grill though.

And that is why mechs will always be around, computers burn out after time...mechs will still work 20 years after your computer controlled devices are all paper weights
I have my great great grandfather's mantle clock sitting on my fireplaces mantel. The last 25 years it has worked without a hitch. I wind it every week. I can't even think how many other clocks I have gone throw. I suspect a mech mod will last just as long.

I had my brass nemi clone buried in my yard for a year. After a little wipe off still works like it used to.

I dropped my neptune clone (mech mod) 4 times today...twice from about 5 feet, once from about 3 feet, and once from about 8 feet...after a quick check with my multimeter, making sure nothing came loose, I started vaping away! I'd like to see your fancy schmancy pocket computers do that! ;)

I'm fortunate enough to have both, and use both on a regular basis. I like mechs better for some reasons and regulated for some reasons...all we should care about is people vaping, not smoking.

I do have to say I dropped my smok 50 from the top of the fridge today. Just once though. Still vaped as good as it did prior. I was a little worried but all was good.
