Don't mis-inform, please. The salmon livery is a cooperation between Alaska Airlines and Alaska Seafood for the Copper River salmon season - Alaska Air Cargo is the primary freight carrier for the fish coming to market in the lower 48. No tax money involved.Hey, sometimes, they DO things.
Why, they painted a salmon on an airplane.
That's $500,000 of your tax dollars in action right there. And if not the government, who else WOULD paint a fish on an airplane?

New vaper here...and OMG I am getting seriously worried!
I took up this vaping thing some eight weeks ago and since then when I wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror in the morning light I find my face seems to be covered with this funny white bristle. Yesterday when I was in town I bought myself the best shave money could buy and I thought I’d got the problem fixed...but his morning OMG it was back.
I am so terrified that Vaping Game will turn me into a Werewolf.
Can anyone help - when I was smoking the GREAT PRODUCTs of Big Tobacco ( may the Name be Praised ) back in the 70s and 80s this simply didn’t happen - all I got was a distinguished dark shadow.
Should I raise a class action RIGHT NOW?
You are not alone, I have found the same thing. Not looking in the mirror is the best advice.
But ya can drive a tack with a sledge. As my departed Pappy used to say "Ya can't drive a railroad spike with a tack hammer".
But ya can drive a tack with a sledge.
Just sometimes the results don't look so good.

The Times is a conservative-backed, Fox News-like outfit. Half of what they print is propagandist drivel and the other half, lies…Pretty sure this is truth.
I found like 10 news articles describing that the painted Alaska plane was paid for by the Alaska Fisheries Marketing Board - federally funded.
A lot of them were in politically motivated news outlets, so not necessarily expected to full disclosure, but here's the Seattle Times, and they're quoting both Alaska Airlines and the Board's executive director on the matter.
Pretty sure this is truth.

Huh. My search didn't show anything for the AFMB fronting part of the money for it. Well, I'd rather see it put local people here in Everett and in Oklahoma to work painting it than being spent on billboards along the interstates. I'm just not willing to shell out $30/lb for Copper River salmon..
