Maybe celery seed then?

Could be, but after looking through other people's celery tasting experiences, it seems its a very common flavor in different products. Fennel, Anise, Angelica and others that have no connection to its properties. For the record, I didn't notice it until recently.
I did preface it with saying it may be strange too. May be I was just hallucinating. May not be either.

So in the beginning I guessed that the citrus in pluid is either orange or grapefruit.

I went to the store and got orange oil because it was the closest smelling thing to the citrus note.
After a while I decided that it wasn't good enough. I googled oranges in absinthe and didn't get any hits. Then I googled grapefruit in absinthe- and got TONS of hits and accounts of people drinking absinthe with grapefruit juice.
So...
I went and picked up 2 grapefruits yesterday and took the zest of them and set them on a piece of paper to dry. After a couple hours they lost the twingy grapefruit smell and now they smell a lot like oranges- A lot like the citrus note in pluid.

I tried Kiwi and came to the same conclusion. I think that is the citrus flavor in Pluid. Going by memory though, so I could be way off.
