Thanks boomer, I'll give that a shot. Bad part is I just ordered some new flavors two days ago.....and just now saw your post!

I agree....a "burnt out taste buds" thread would be a great idea! It doesn't happen to me often, but when it does the temptation to smoke again (as dumb as that may sound....good flavors traded for an ashtray) is very strong. I guess because the satisfaction of vaping is gone at that point...

I think a lot of vapers have days like this. I'm just coming off a miserable week fighting off a virus and I couldn't taste anything. With the sore throat I just vaped plain 50/50 at 6mg because my ADV's are all strong tobacco NET's and WAT's and killed to inhale. Today is the first day I can vape a light concoction I call Sweet TB. So I'm content. But knowing what it taste like normally and what I'm getting from it right now I'd say my "buds" need more recoup time.

everyone is trying so hard to make their own clone of pluid, i bet its just as simple as anise or black licorice and mt. dew!

Could very well be, sir. Not sure though. I've still some Pluid, so my DIY attempts have slowed to a stop lately. I'll be picking it back up soon enough, as its still hard to get. Add in the vendors that have recently had it are charging stupid prices, I will not buy any from them on principle alone. There is no justification for charging $1 per mL and $6 to ship it. $16 for 10mL from one site shipped. Ridiculous. The other charges $.80 per mL, only sold in 10 mL plastic bottles. I'm through with Pluid buying until somebody can keep a decent stock, or at least have a clue as to when they'll have it, and charge accordingly.

this is the coolest thread,

for a Pluid lover, for whom money is no object (jk)... but the time and all invested to doing this DIY i can't afford. In the meantime this thread is a gas! :)

i'm tired of the Pluid at LF thread... its so ....y. can you imagine having to transfer the stuff from 10mil plastic bottles once you get it?at $1 per mil after shipping.

I've got enough MMRP in glass to last the rest of the year and i like hanging with MMR.
I'll probably gear up a DIY Pluid around the end of the year.

I think for most it is a lack of supply problem. I could deal with a higher price for quality product, but it must be available. Higher price + low stock = marketing plan in my book. That I do not like, and will not recommend to anyone. I cant blame them for it, because it does seem to be working for them.

dont mean to hijack thread, but in response, don't forget, as far as i know, this is the only "home made" juice that is on the market.
It so unique, and apparently impossible to duplicate... he does it because he can, and frankly,
Just glad he discovered it.

I agree about the lemon lime.. Mine ended up tasting like Lysol anytime I added lemon lime or any citrus combination (hpno, etc)
I'm not liking my recipe much anymore. I think I am overdoing it with the lemon lime and after some time it kills all the other flavors. I still cant take the flavor of the horehound either. I haven't ordered any anise yet, but plan to soon.

I'm really tired of all of my juices right now.....need to find something I like again. I just don't know enough about mixing to be able to do it right. There is always something missing in my mixes.

Why is that Red? I understand 0 nic will be less throat hit but how does the nic level work with the flavoring so that, say, at 10 mg. of nic and 5% flavoring is okay but if you reduce the nic to 0 the flavoring at 5% will now be too much. At least I think that's what your saying?

Sounds like a case of over flavoring, Rin.

Making zero nic ejuice its easy to overflavor....start out very low on your percentages.

If thats the case, I have to rethink everything I've done lol. I do try to start on the lowest end of the spectrum but how low can you go? Also having issues finding a good way to taste my flavors. Havent had much luck atomizer wise. The best result I've gotten is from a RBA where I would just switch a small amount of silica wick per flavor and cleaning the coil best I can.

I'm not a chemist. I've bought nic in the past that seems to add a slight peppery taste in higher concentrations (18 mg eliquids or higher batches made)....

It was not from Wizard Labs. I'd rather not say on the public board, I will tell you via pm. I called and asked the vendor about it and was told this is normal. I stopped buying from that place.

So, it is possible for liquid nic to add a slight peppery taste to your eliquid. It is supposed to have little to no flavor, but thats if it is properly refined and fresh I do believe.

I've been messing around with pure anise oil and pure lemon and orange extract from a health food store. It tastes really good but after it sits for a while there is a small clear (as opposed to cloudy) layer on top. I believe the separation happens in pluid too but not as much as in mine. Still dinking around with percentages. Last batch I did 1.5ml anise, .4ml lemon, .4ml orange 38ml 65/35 vg/pg I like heavier vg personally.

I'm fairly new to DIY I haven't tried too much mixing multiple flavors, mostly just spent alot of time making my melon ball really good, now I'm moving on to this one until I feel like ordering more melon ball stuffs.

Also never experienced a peppery tastes from WL nic and WL nic is all I've tried.

edit: for stupidity
