hey kevor ya don't have to wait 8 hours, the batts come charged! Start vaping away with one and put the other on the charger to top it off, and you are good to go! happy vaping!
And to put in my 2 cents, i was one of those smokers that loved to smoke, had no intention of quitting even though I knew it was killing me. Got a 510 to 'sneak' a smoke at work, but to my surprise i quit cigs on my second day cus I liked it better!
Don't think I would have stuck with it though cus i was getting tired of the dripping. Got myself a V4L kit and I've been a happy camper, no more even thinking about cigs!

Aubergine, that's a beautiful post, and very inspiring. Like you, I remember spending a lot of time (two entire weekends for me) researching e-cigs, first a year ago and then three months ago when I finally decided to give vaping a go. And like you, I remember the evening my package arrived and the moment I took my very first vape. In fact, I remember my exact thought at that moment: I can do this. I can quit cigs using this. And I haven't had a cig since that moment 10 weeks ago. Hooray for us and everyone like us on the road to dumping cigs for good.

I thought of something else..sitting on my porch smoking and thinking..we need to paint the posts, the hedge needs triming..gee are those moles in the lawn> Now I am inside and quit worring about the dratted moles!
I bet some of you are glad to see less of the garage or balconey.

Thats so funny because when i'm at my parents house, my mom always goes in the garage, and also makes my dad go there to smoke.. Now i get to make fun of them while i vape in the house..

As far as the moles go.. My mom has one cat that would have a field day with them.. Tiger is always bringing presents in my parents garage.. That cat even cought a squrriel once!! I was surprised.. I'd have guessed a squirrel would win that battle since Tiger is a runt kitty..

After reading your post aubergine, about how you found out about e-cigs, i have to chime in here once more..

I'm only 27, but i have been been smoking from 16 till about June of last year.. So in those 9-10 years i slowly began to feel it's effects.. I too could see how i couldn't hardly run as i once did before i started smoking.. I always felt low on energy, and just very bad some days.. I even would often get very sick and would vomit very nasty black stuff.. 8-o

I tried the patch which only made me itch like crazy, and even the gum which kinda tasty nasty.. I still had the mental urge too smoke, to have something in my hand, too see the smoke as i exhale..

I first saw a kiosk at my local mall that said electronic cigarette.. At first i was very dismissive.. "Ha, how can a ciggy be electronic?!" Was my first thought.. "You have to light it to smoke it!?" Then as i struggled to quit more and more, i figured, what the heck, I'll google it.. Well guess what i found when i first googled?!

I found all of Leafords you tube videos!! Yep, and i watched all of them all the time for about a week.. Thats when i stumbled across ECF.. I began reading about them here as well.. But i really have to give a bunch of credit to Leaford.. Seriously, without his vids, and actually seeing someone explain and use the PV's in a video, i doubt i would of tried them myself..

Once i got my first kit i was blown away.. It really did feel like i was smoking!? I thought wow, this is going to work!! After about a few days of using the PV i totally quit analogs completely.. (well not having the cash to buy them helped too, and the cost of a pack of them..)

About a month after getting off of analog's, I too started to notice my breathing changing.. I could breath deeper.. I also started to get more energy back.. And darn it if i just don't feel good all the time now.. It's almost like it's a crime too feel this good..

Since then i have followed Leaford's blog, etc.. I finally had the money to switch over and try the VK.. I have only heard good things about it.. I really wanted to give it a try as I'm always searching for something better.. :D That and i believe the prices have come down as well which helped me a ton.. (and the discounts! wow, thanks for those Steve!! Every dollar saved helps too!! :D)

So now i sit here and wait for my new VK to comes to me in the mail.. (hopefully today.. USPS says it was sorted in Atlanta yesterday!!)

But the hardest thing is to come is waiting for those batteries to charge!! Ohh, i get to sit and drool over my VK for 8 hours while the batteries charge.. I guess i should of gotten the PT too, but that will come later.. I'll just have to use my other PV till the batteries charge.. :p
Thanks, Kevor!

I also saw my first e-cig at the mall ....thought the concept was good but doubted it could work for me and didn't want to spend almost $200 to find out. I had tried everything to quit smoking, the patch, gums (ewww), prescription drugs (made me nastier than satan himself), acupuncture (this helped me with some nerve damage issues but nothing on the smoking cessation), even hypnosis (found out I'm one of those people that cant be hypnotized, to analytical I think). What it came down to was that I didn't really want to quit, I enjoyed smoking, plain and simple. I wanted to quit for my health and the health of the people around me, but between the nic addiction and just plain enjoying the feeling and [less so] the taste of smoking I couldn’t give it up. I even tried the heavy duty self guilt psychological trip. I hung my mother’s pictures all over the house. the ones I took the summer before she died of lung cancer after smoking for 40 years. It made me feel guilty as hell, convinced me that I was going to walk in her shoes some day and probably not make it as long as she did. I was miserable, depressed, but still found myself apologizing to my Mom every time i lit up...she made me promise to quit before she died.

Then I came across an add for a "trial offer" for the "smoke51" (smoke anywhere) so figured what the heck ... got my kit .. it sucked ...sent it back and gave up on the idea again. I guess it worked just good enough to peek my interest though, I hit the web looking for something that was better engineered. There I found the guru of e-cigs, Leaford himself.
I became a student of his website and after a couple of weeks of research I decided the whole mod thing was not for me, dripping sounded kind of archaic, and that if this was going to work i needed SIMPLE. Then I saw that Leaford had joined V4L

Since I respected Leaford’s opinions, I took a look at the V4L website. I found Steve's message on the "about us" page and came to the conclusion that this guy really cares about what he was doing, about people trying to get off analogs, that he was one of us and dedicated to distributing the best product out there... between that message and the fact that Leaford thought enough of the company and Steve to join them [and go to china even] I thought this is the product I should try. I was still skeptical though.

Then that first order arrived (and dam quick I might add). I took it out of the bag put it together and on the first hit, and getting so much vapor I actually choked [I was expecting something like the smoke51, but there was no comparison].... Bells sounded in my head and I somehow knew this was it, I could now stop smoking analogs. I smoked maybe a half pack of analogs the next week, learned the ropes of vaping [mostly from all of you here] then found that analogs just didn't satisfy me anymore.

So here I am, a little over a month off analogs and already feeling a thousand times healthier; most of the ill effects of almost 30 years of smoking gone. My gums are even bleeding now...I know that sounds terrible but it's not; my dentist told me that most of my gum problems were because smoking (mostly the CO) was killing the blood circulation in my gums. Happy to say the receding is starting to reverse and my gums are pink again....YAY!! I can not begin to explain the feeling of freedom being off analogs has given me; but you all know what I mean.

So, thank you Leaford, Steve, Val, and everyone at V4L and on this forum for your part in possibly saving my life and setting me free from analogs; but most of all, for helping me keep my promise to my Mom. I did it!!!!

PS: I had to have tobacco flavors, kamel did it for me mostly, but then those sneaky friends at V4L with their bonuses have turned me on to 555, Kant, wintergreen and mint...oh and just got a bonus Espresso in my last order...now I have to order again gosh darn it... it was fantastic!! Thanks Steve, Val !!

I'm sure my 808 will be the first and the last I will buy. I needed a way out and after extensive reading and reviews. V4L will me my way to quit. My GF ordered one today and hopefully we will both kick the habit. I am stoked that since I got mine in the mail. The same day I was able to put down the analogs and haven't looked back.

2 weekends ago I was walking through a smoke free casino in Illinois vaping away, and I must have had 30 people ask me what I was doing. When I sat down at the poker table the guy across from said " that is the weirdest cigarette I have ever seen". It was fun explaining to everyone what it was and the benefits that went along with it.
I was in one of the indian casinos out here in Cali. Walked up to the craps table and took a hit off my VK. the expressions were PRICELESS!!! then of course came the sales pitch for VK and the education to Vaping!!! :) I lost 80 bucks in there but it was worth it to find out that 3 people were interested enough to take a card including the pit boss :)

Do you remember when you started vaping and the only juice you were interested in was one JUST like you used to smoke? I laughed when I read the cocktail and fruit threads..so many of us have new tastes now!

Do you remember covering up the smoke smell with colongne, mouth wash, breath spray and bounce by the fistfull in the laundry? Sometimes all at once?

Do you remember the dirty looks non smokers gave you? Ok they still do because now you are vaping and it looks kinda shifty!

Do you remember the burn holes in everything? So charming!

Do you remember the first time you saw a mod?...OK fess up you said NOT me! Oh maybe you said GOTTA have it!

MK, I own em all(just about) and I rememer how I finally got you to try these terrible cartomizers, as well. Please, would YOU be V$L official color coordinator:thumbs:seriously, HELP us to make EVERYONE SMILE:D

To tell the truth Jeff I agree! I would like to see more burgandy and dark maroon instead. But I really want some metalics like copper and silver, or as close as we can get to it on vinyl!
The way I see it..the color should refect the flavor or at least compliment it. Not much else you can do with pink lemon ade or peach!

Thank Goodness for Blanks!

Yep. I wanted my killer menthol flavour that would make my lips tingle all the way down into my lungs. I laughed at the fruity flavours too at first. Now I haven't touched the menthols in over a month! Fruits, candies, and dessert flavours reign supreme.

Do you remember covering up the smoke smell with colongne, mouth wash, breath spray and bounce by the fistfull in the laundry? Sometimes all at once?

A woman is not a lady untill she wears perfume! (I'm a parfum snob.) I was/am a proud smoker! I hate bounce and have yet to find a dryer sheet I can use w/out getting a rash. I would like to note just how yummy delicious all those parfums and fragrances in my creams are now that I can really smell them.

Do you remember the dirty looks non smokers gave you? Ok they still do because now you are vaping and it looks kinda shifty!

Yep, I remember those looks! That's when I'd blow the smoke their way. I'm far enough away from them but they still have to be overly dramatic. I do the same with vape but it doesn't seem to have the same effect. I'll guess I'll have to suffice with only this working when I can smoke a cigar, or steal my hubby's .... when he's done with his cig so I can flick it their way.

Do you remember the burn holes in everything? So charming!

I can't lie. I most certainly will not miss this!

Do you remember the first time you saw a mod?...OK fess up you said NOT me! Oh maybe you said GOTTA have it!

I'm perfectly happy with my XL Manuals and have no want or compulsion to try any other hardware.

Yes! Any of the metals or those deep colors would make me proud to vape in public. Even white's cool, which makes my Kants OK. Actually, though, I'm just messing with you because I'm open to almost anything. I think we all are. I'll just stay away from pink lemon and peach, and a few others when I'm working. Looking forward to the new MK designer line!

Did somebody mention copper? I want copper. I love copper. MaryKay, can you please convince Steve and Leaford and Val an Mark that we NEED a copper XL with that wonderful airy draw of the reg. manual?

And, I agree, pastels are, well, pastels, as you said, not much one can do with peach and pear and banana. I like serious colors: plum, wine, hunter green, chocolate brown, dark gold, brass, silver. Smoking lounge colors.
