I just watched a preview of a video currently in production (I'll let you know when it gets posted to youtube). Brand new freshly charged VTC5 & an RM3 dual coil at .55 ohms.

The REO Grand SL with the old connector (no adjustable SS connector in that one, but it does have the sub ohm contacts) It dropped to 3.73v

The REO Grand Clone dropped to 3.32v.

Other interesting notes in the video: All four corners of the door groove are sharp. One drew blood from the user. The button is a polymer plastic, not delrin so it will melt if run too hot. The spring is not a 3 piece hot spring. The top contact material appears to be brass. It is very thin and the user described it as "flimsy" and also remarked that the throw was much longer than the REO.

The fellow making the video indicated he is going to strip the paint to verify the body material - and has yet to pull the spring and test the springs resistance - and is planning to pull the top contact and test its resistance.

Atimizoo(and many others), just say no...
...to hot springs.

Yes. That's true. There are lots of folks who forgo basic safety features. In this particular case, the spring they chose decreases the devices performance. So, it not only lacks a very basic safety feature, but they chose to degrade its already poor performance even further.

I wonder if the clones could easily change out the subohm package from reo and how easy to replace the button with the reo button

I see dudes riding around in like civics with rims, wings an exhaust tip, k&N cold air intake and stickers and wonder if they think it's the same as driving a sports car. That's the clone analogy in this case.

Putting the REO parts on it would be like upgrading it to sports suspension, turbo, brembos, full exhaust and the associated performance gains, assuming the parts would fit. But it's still just a boy racer that you sunk as much money into as a legit mans sports car.

My .02 is if ya want it to be a REO, just get one. By the time ya put the performance upgrades on it it's still just a civic - no?

There is a quick peek of one of my REOs in this vid and that is a legit sports sedan I'm rockin :)

not at all, not even close either

clone: $25, replacement parts $25ish, total price $50, reo charges over $100...if it's similar performance, what do I care if it's a real reo, this is vaping...it's really not that important to me to own a real mod

infact i'd rather not own a real reo if they are charging over $100, same way I wouldn't buy a corvette..ever

The clone has a smaller diameter button. For what I've been told, if the slot that allows it to lock was removed, a regular REO button might work, but then it becomes a non-pocketable PV. That brings me back to basic safety features. I seldom engage my button lock, but every now and then I'm glad it's there.

The contacts are only part of the problem. I haven't heard yet if it's the connector or the body material, but something in that device offers about the same resistance as the spring. Changing out the contacts won't get it to the same performance as a real REO even if it is possible (which I don't know if it is or not - I don't have one and I've only seen what was shared with me). ~9/10ths of a volt drop at .55 ohms is abysmal. And the lower the ohms, the bigger the spread in drop between it and a real one. The numbers aren't on the video I was sent, but the comment was that at .25 ohms, the difference between a real one and a clone was more than 6/10ths V.

the replacement kit I'm looking at comes with a new spring and contacts...not sure if it's the right kit since I don't tend to go to reo's site often...just figured if it's a quick $25 option on the clone and ppl would minimize voltage drop and have a better button

for someone like myself, the bottom feeder would be an at home mod since I don't leave house unless the mod has a usb port in it, and I don't tend to go under .8 or .9 ohms but I'm in the minority here

I've just found one of the bonus features of the clone, the fact it's so cheap you can experiment on it, I've just made mine low profile and modded a plume veil I have rarely used to be a bf atty, works like a charm! Wouldn't dare do that to a real reo lol

Did the LP mod on my VV grand so I could run a magma clone on it. I own it. I'm cutting into it if I want to. Just saying.

I just meant there is a world of difference between taking an angle grinder to a $20 clone and $200 original lol

Ps how you finding the magma on yours? I'm tempted to bf mine, and how have you got it set up? I've got a plume veil on mine dual coil at 0.8 ohm and I'm finding it's got plenty of vapour but is a bit lacking in the flavour department

Lol, it's the baddest ayuss car I've ever had. And it's got 8 speed sequential paddle shifts that hold the gear ya select :) you might be confusing it with the previous years chargers. The 2015 is a different animal. But yeah, I got a family of 5 so the options for a power hungry freak are slim at my price point and hauling needs. I'd need to step up to like an Audi A5s to get the performance and room and I could buy 2 of my cars for that price.

No worries - my wife hates it too :)

While one of my dream cars, now that I'm a Grandpa. You might also point out it is a Fiat/Chysler. (or was the company sold again), neither of which scream "Great Car". Yeah, Yeah I know those RED cars are also made by Fiat. But I don't want one of those.

Drifter under NO circumstance would a Civic be called a clone of a Charger. They look nothing alike. The civic if considered a clone would be a clone of the Toyota Corrola.

Negative contact. A pretty much standard safety feature of mechanical mods is what is called a "hot spring" . Hot springs are made from 3 pieces and are designed to collapse instantly in the event of a short.

by 3 piece that would mean ,screw ,plate and the spring correct ??

btw,the reo spring and the kui spring are interchangeable
