I'm the reviewer in question here... and I was sent the Kui by Scans Tech, not the "1:1" REO clone being discussed. And, yes, the Kui was a total POS. And, while not a 1:1 REO clone, the design of the Kui is clearly derivative of the REO.

So, there's more than one? I know that's what you're saying, but I just want to be clear. The 3Fvape 'pre-order' is a different device than the one you were talking about?

Correct. The device I was sent is *not* the REO clone advertised for pre-order on 3fvape or gearbest. Again, derivative design but the Kui was never marketed as a REO clone.

if the fire button on these inexpensive bottom feeders would fire every time they mite not be too bad to get one.

Still getting nothing sometimes when I depress the button on my Smokless Owl---thought I had the problem solved

with contact cleaning but still misfiring---but at 25 balloons still having fun with it.

I have 2 of the KUI's also ,grey and chromed ,i did notive yours have a brass adjustable where as mine have a SS adjustable 510,mine are the V2 and came with a nuppin like atty
the positive tab on the kui has a hole that is just too dam big and leaks like a sive as a result ,A straightened out reo grand tab fixes that issue
they used philip head screws in the nuppin which are total krap and has to be repalced
mine has never auto fired either ,there are 2 weak springs in the button that make for a crunchy press,so those would most likely get replced by the end user
with the body being made of a zinc alloy with an aluminum door ,and rounded corners on the heavy side it took some time to learn to put it down with out it falling over :(.a tank ring at the base helped when it does fall over,
but for the money i wasn't expecting a primo device

the one feature it hs that is an improvement over the reo, the positive tab does not make direct contact with the battery, there for no more arch marks on my batteries :D

Even if this clone is pretty crappy, it may still allow new users the ability to find out if they like bottom feeding.

The Squape Reloaded. I bought the first clone that came out, the Ivogo. Wow, did it have a lot of problems I had to solve! But, when everything was working, I was really enjoying it. It felt like I was constantly fixing issues, but I did realize I wanted one that worked. So come November 14 when Stattqualm released more for sale, I bought the authentic. However, I would not have spent $200 on an atty without a test drive. Clones can help sell authentics.

The opposite can be said about clones - it can put a false "bad image" on the real deal...... A well build bottom feeding mod and atty is pretty hard to beat IMHO. A poorly built one will make the person think it is terrible.

Nothing good happens when a product is copied using inferior materials. Not only does it cheat the consumer, it cheats the creator (it would be insulting to me).

Now on the positive side, these "clones" look like dog poo so nobody will fear buying them advertised as an authentic.

Depends on what "inferior" means though. A lot of high-end atomizers are made with medical grade stainless steel, but if a clone atomizer uses just regular stainless steel it really doesn't matter in terms of function.

I too balked at the price of the REO... for years I wanted one but couldn't justify the price. I instead bought an old goat bottom feeder (back 4 or so years ago) for $25. Nifty little device...horrible voltage drop... and frequently sat in a puddle of juice. I never could figure out where the leak was. Then I bought another homemade BF for around $90. It was VV (dial). It worked all right but it too leaked juice everywhere unless I kept a carto on it (there were no rebuildable attys back then). I ended up sending it back twice and spent more than if I'd just gone ahead and bought an authentic REO to begin with. It now sits in a box with the old goat. I don't regret buying these devices, they were fun to play with and they showed me the true value of my REOs.

I'd love to have a regulated bottom feeder but electronics in a mod will (sooner or later) fail. I was hesitant to go to a mech but once I did, I found that I felt the need to swap batteries right around the time the batt in my provari needed changing anyway.

Another story for your reading pleasure. Please humor me and their is a point to it.

My phone rings around 1 AM and it's my newb friend who has an authentic REO LP and a authentic Chalice 3. Steve! The battery spring is collapsed. it wont fire! It's broken already! REO is a P of S. I want my money back!

Me: Apparently you didn't take notes on what I said DUDE! when you first got the rig a few days ago. Your OK. Yea but I'm mad at YOU! Relax and Dr. Steve will arrive sooner rather than later. Don't touch anything and lay it aside. Use one of your other mods.

So...he/she/it produced a short when he installed the top cap on the Chalice and fortunately for him when he fired, the spring did exactly what it was supposed to do to protect a user. It collapsed Not to worry boys and girls, he was taking notes this time and I lent him my spare spring.

I have no clue if any of the clones have this kind of protection via a collapsable spring but please please be careful. Respectfully, it's doubtful that any clone reviewer will test this but I could be wrong.

HTH

:)

FYI
Mercedes and BMW have horrible reliability issues over the last 8-10 years.
They are not the solid, well built
Machines that made them famous any longer. (Blu tech? Really MB? It's 2015. Google it for a German built facepalm)

A dodge pickup truck will outlast everything in the Mercedes stable, with maintenance costing a mere fraction.

I have owned e46 coupes and upwards, where do you get ur info from?
I have no idea about Mercs, but Beemers are the nuts.
