Ok So here's my thoughts so far on the reo clone,
For a device that cost me less than £20 I really can't fault it, it does exactly what it's meant to, and it does it very well
There are a few little flaws or niggles I've got with it,

firstly the finish of the paint, it has a few patches that are not great, nothing major but the finish is uneven (although it's probably getting sanded and re sprayed this weekend)

Secondly the bottle is pretty stiff plastic but more annoying the straw (feed tube) doesn't quite reach the bottom of the bottle,

Thirdly the door, it fits but it's just a touch too easy to slide up and down, the magnets aren't really all that strong but I took it off and bent it just slightly to give it more resistance

And lastly the fire button, it's very easy to spin from locked and unlocked, not something I am majorly worried about but worth considering if you plan to carry this in a pocket,

All together it's actually really good for something of this price, yes it has flaws but if you want a flawless device without these issues then please go buy the authentic reo this is clones from, (I will be now I know I like this style of device) but if you just want a cheap squonker to knock around or to try out squonking then get one of these

I don't get why a lot of you are defending robs website, I do get that the reo is an amazing devise, there is no doubt about it but let's be honest here, a better site does help and robs isn't going to win a beauty pageant...

I'm gonna beg to differ. BEST website I've ever been to is Warren Buffet's website. It's been exactly the same for as long as I can remember. It's simple, well laid out, and there are no pop ups, crazy graphics, stuff moving across the screen (you can tell he doens't much cotton to 20-something web site designers using dreamscape)
BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY INC.

It's no nonsence clean, clear and "keep it simple".

It would be real hard to argue that Warren Buffet isn't *successful*.

I think the success of Rob is based on his participation on the forums and with the help of his loyal users

You are right and price tag is precisely because of the way Rob treats his customers. He's like jonny on the spot. Been vaping 3 years, dealt with 100's of vendors.....have never seen anything like it.

So it kinda proves......websites don't make you successful. Your personal integrity and customer service and hard work ......do.

I'm kinda tired of living in the new world of being "wowed" by slick graphics and PR ad copy.....and finding out that I'm dealing with liars and grifters in the process sometimes. Slick turns me off. Way off.

We are back to the appearance over substance thing. Obviously, somebody like Buffet delivers the latter and that is what his customers go there for, not for pretty.

At any rate, we don't know if Rob at REO wants to become more than the small cottage industry over there .... who knows. When you get too big you lose a lot of control and have to do a lot of hiring, etc. Dunno why people assume that everyone wants to grow grow grow. Seen many businesses go under because they grew....they were better small.

That said, I am not against clones. As someone mentioned already pretty much so many designs are just re-do's of Raidy and Zen's early work

you don't need to trade your integrity and customer service to have a good website. the site will just add more potential customers, it can't harm in any way

:) The Rob website under discussion

"Usability" is the industry term. That's a separate and distinct issue when also discussing "pretty", "inviting", "trendy" "dancing bears" and other accruements. Usability trumps "form" on some web sites which is appropriate. An example is Google. In this case usability should dominate. Sometimes referred to in the civilian world /lol as the "form over function" argument. Amazon is generally regarded as the "gold standard" in ecommerce sites. An amazing balance of two conflicting forces (form & function). Think a single click.

The "fact" that the site could be more user friendly (usability) is a moot issue unless you consider ROI. IF I was still in the business (I'm retired) I would tell Rob that a 5K or more fee is not justified so don't spend your money. Given your very specific target market, user base, dedicated near "fanboy" cult following, and your outstanding brand it makes no sense to me to spend this money. A very specific case with very specific recommendations. Just my views but in a past life I actually told a few clients the exact same thing. I sleep very well at knight.

/end 2 cents

:)

@Cowboy192 - thanks for the review. I personally like the stiffer bottles of the Reo and it sounds like these bottles may be similar. I am most interested in the firing tab. This is one of the Kui's major flaws, it made the button too easy to press. It may also be why your button spins so easily, not enough pressure against it from the firing tab.

I'll check that out, I'm going to strip it down a little and have a look at the hidden bits later, will report back on anything I find

Thanks for your review on this reos clone-----will think strongly about getting one

can you tell me how the firing button is engineered-----does it have a pin that comes down and touches

the battery to fire and then springs back up when you release the firing button ?
I've opened it up its a sprung strip that has a bent tip so it is pushed down by the button and yes it does spring back up, it had a decent resistance so it shouldn't fire on its own

thanks for the info on this reo clone-------Have you noticed any misfires. My smokless owl has been misfiring again lately--due to a pin that comes down to touch

the positive battery terminal when you press the firing button.

I wondered if the reo clone also comes down to touch the battery when you press the firing button.
