The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
Dug up the rest of the Potatoes. Hot, very dry June stunted the entire garden, yield was pathetic. Changed the Oil / Filter on my pickup. Now the Heat (with a Capital 'H') is returning. About time for Netflix....
Im thinking its time to plant another pile of potatoes mine are near ready now weird some of my stuff is doing real well and some is strange seems stunted too my peppers are growing but the plant itself is real short will see how they finish i have already planted my second batch of peas as the first ones died off

We actually had plenty of rain during a very mild April and May. I planted two weeks early this year, and my Cucumbers and Zucchini were producing like mad. Potatoes came up well, Tomatoes and Bell Peppers were growing nicely. Beans came up good too.
Then June came. I think we've had one rain in June and two quick showers in July. Potatoes died, Beans never formed pods, bottom rot became a real problem for tomato and peppers. Zucchini and Cucumber just stopped making flowers, which means no more fruits. Been difficult to stay enthused it's been so dry as county water can only do so much.

Nerak sorry to hear about the cancer threat to the family. You would think by now they would have come further in treatment for it. They have come a long way, but still have much further to go. I try to stay away from genetically modified foods as much as I can now. I am also trying to eat more organic products. I even changed the dogs food to a grain free food. It is more expensive, which is sad. I have also tried to use more herbal remedies now, than in the past. I am eating a little better, but could use more sleep. Sleep is under rated in keeping optimum health.

My dogs get some cookies but their base food is homemade. Beef heart liver kidney all fried up at about 30% fat. Then add pumpkin purée peas maybe some fruit and whatever veggy I have available. So far so good they are doing real good on it. It's a pia but worth it for my best friends.

Well, I done about everything I could do today. Now I am just lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, knowing the alarm will go off in four hours. So I've decided to get up and drive out tonight. After fueling, hooking and strapping it will be about a four hour ride. I'll just sleep in the truck tonight. Trust me, ain't the first time that's ever happened.

???

my post disappeared
this one or a different one? I saw one you did the other day. Good to see you posting.

too recently, being in a ICU with my new born child it is the hardest thing,
So is your baby home now and much better I hope?

I recently dug it out and it appears the problem is that I have to push down so hard on the button.
If it's a metal mod, make sure it is unlocked, but then I would say like sterno did, give it a good scrubbin in hot soapy water, move the button while in the water to loosen it up. Flat tops will have more of a throw than most button tops, but shouldn't make it so hard. Definitely check your spring like scott said. Let us know if those things don't fix it

It's funny because you will be sitting there at 8:30 at night with 5 flights of stairs and 3,000 steps to go and get up and do it. Rather than sit back and do nothing. At least that's been my experience.
so glad that's working to motivate you!!! Great job!!

About time for Netflix....
Whatchya been watchin? I'm always open to Netflix suggestions.

Hope you're at your destination and sound asleep by now. Have a good week!!

Ok, talked to Dancin at 5 am, and then again just a bit ago. Her surgery is scheduled for 7:30 in the morning. She's gonna have her daughter call me after the surgery. She's feeling much better about it than she was. She's being well cared for, so that has eased some anxiety. She's had a few days to wrap her head around it. She did find out that it would be open heart where they crack her sternum, so a much longer recovery time. Of course she's worried about them having just moved into the more expensive apt and her being off work for probably at least two months, but I told her not to worry about that. Hopefully she can at least get some temporary unemployment and other stuff to help. her bed is real low to the floor so her son is getting that fixed up for her and getting some other aids for the shower, potty etc so that will be a huge help. None of her grandkids are itty bitty so they should be able to help her some as well. Told her once she's home to have a pouch for her cell phone to wear around her neck or have in pocket or something, she's not to be anywhere without that phone just in case.
She did watch some movies of folks that have the same procedure, and it helped a lot them telling her what to expect. Her imagination was likely worse than reality. She really appreciates everyone's prayers and concern, it means so much to her.

Good morning all. Just stopped by to give "Good Morning" hugs.

Good thoughts to Dancin'. I know it as scary as hell. I remember when dad had his bypass in 96'. It is absolutely astounding what doctors can do and it seems to be improving everyday.

Deb, please pm me her address (not sure if the one I have is correct because I think she moved). Thanks so much for the updates. Please tell her everyone is sending good thoughts her way. I know first hand what a loving and caring group is here.

Good afternoon REOville! I hope everyone had a decent weekend, mine was and to top it off I got my Nicotiket order in today and I'm lovin it!

Karen, that's terrible and I'm sending my best wishes to you and your daughter! I don't know very much about my family history except we're prone to substance abuse, PTSD, and I know heart issues runs deep in my fathers side and cancer on my mothers. I do hope all ends well with your daughters diagnosis!

To the green thumb REOnauts.....can't help ya there, I'm no good at growing veggies! I do have a pear and apple tree that do VERY well with no help from me!

quibicfit, glad to hear the little one is doing better :thumb:. Before ya know it you'll be on o2 trying to catch yer breath from chasing him all over the place!

Deb, I hope all goes well for Dancin! Bypass surgery is routine these days so the odds are well in her favor...scary though? very much so!

Mrs Underdawg is getting a perm today, the house is quiet yet I'm sitting here watching Alice in Wonderland....thanks Mini ME! I gotta get this house in order.....looks too much like a FEMA certified disaster area!

Hope everyone's week is a fantastic one!

Dancin had her surgery this am. Her daughter called me about 1:30 pm (I'd only been in bed a couple hours so didn't get up to update then) She did have the bypass. There was more to replace on the heart valve than they had anticipated, but it went well. They had planned at that point to keep her sedated several more hours before trying to wake her, and her daughter was going to call me after they woke her, but she didn't, so not sure if she was just worn out, or if they kept her sedated longer, so if I don't hear from her before I go to bed tomorrow, I'll call her for another update. She really appreciates everyone's prayers and concern.
