Smart ideas Jan! Super glue is rather permanent. Haha. Kinda funny, I put the button cover back on this morning and it popped off pretty quickly. I just tried it again and so far, so good. (It is a game of millimeters). If it gets silly again, I will try the dental floss trick.

Thank you again, wise, kind one!
Did you try pushing on the other end from the inside as you push the button on? Works for me.

Thanks! I just tried that and we will see..... If not, dental floss will be my next plan of action. Much appreciated @JC Okie and @Vapefiend!

So I’m thinking I’ll try the floss or thread trick tomorrow. I had forced the button on (pushing from inside as well) and it lasted a few days but just popped off today. I’m leaning more towards the thread idea as all I have is waxed floss which I’m thinking makes it thicker. I’m wanting to make sure I understand what you all are saying. Do I cut it just long enough to go on top of the “knob” as @ed101z calls it?

It’ll need to cross the middle of the knob and drape down both sides. It may be a little short to do much draping...ha...but it needs to cross the middle and hang over so that the cap will push both ends down as it’s squeezing on. You wouldn’t think string would be thick enough to make a difference, but it does. I think you will feel the resistance when you put the cap on. If one piece isn’t enough, double it.

Anyone in the U.S. have or know of an Atty called Nutz?? Saw one on a post and it looks real nice!

I have one. It's nice and quite well built - performs much like the RM2, but feels like it would last longer. If you like a single coil MTL flavour-first atty, this would not be a bad choice at all.

Thank you Jan for breaking it down for me. Great teacher! So far the one thread is holding fine. If it doesn’t in the future, I’ll try 2. I feel almost as excited about this accomplishment as I do about our Warriors!! (If you’re a Cleveland fan, that’s cool too).

Hi, Jim! Long time! I found an old REO thread from January of 2016. I don’t have one, so other than that, I’m no help. How ya been?

Hey Jan, doing fine for an old man. How bout you. Still teaching newbys how to make their own juice?? Jan, you still using RightX? I put some ... cotton in the other day and boy was it smooooooth. Only problem is you have to change too often since being used to Right X.

Hi, Jim. Funny you should ask about wicking..... I have used Ready-X for a long time, but I, too, broke out some “... cotton” a few weeks ago and liked it. So....I’ve been using cotton for awhile now, again. I also use rayon from time to time. But.....when I do coils and wicks for my niece and nephew ( who don’t do their own anything.....they live up the hill from me, and when they need anything....gen a new wick...they call for a “Puffer Clinic.” In other words, I walk up the hill and refresh their REOs. Ha.) In their cases, I use Ready-X exclusively. That way I only need to go up the hill about once a month instead of every three days. Ha.

Meanwhile, I’m liking the cotton, and I don’t mind rewicking every few days. I can get 4 days to a week out of one cotton wick, usually.

Thanks Papa! How did you get yours? Apparently they are not easy to find!

I got mine in a private sale, bundled with a mod. As it was part of a combination, I don't know what the atty alone would bring on the aftermarket, but I don't think it's one of those 'worth more than MSRP' items (like the m-atty, for instance).

I guess I'll be doing the same thing re: cotton. However, I'm not going thru all the gyrations the Super X did. A little OCD there, lol! Jan, I'm not changing my Right X monthly. Usually every two/three months. I do clean it often.
No, I don’t change Ready-X monthly, either. I just meant we have “Puffer Clinic” about once a month. I don’t always, or even usually change the wick then, but I clean their REOs, apply Deoxit Gold, and at least dry burn their coils. If they were using something other than Ready-X (cotton or rayon) we’d be having “clinic” at least once a week instead of once a month. Ha.

What ever happened to Super X?
