I'm not trying to be an expert on this, just going by what I've seen, but usually it is the minerals in water that causes it and all tap water has minerals which vary from one city to the next (ever notice how water taste different everywhere you go?)

So maybe if you are going to soak your Reo for a long period of time you should use distilled water. I think most people rinse and dry right away which doesn't give the minerals time to do damage. Just a thought.

Distilled water would work, pretty much any aluminum mod the uses a pressed in steel connector could get the same deposits, the roughstack I used to have did. basically the best solution is to use a qtip and isopropyl, pga or vodka and wipe around the connector, I mentioned coca cola earlier but on an after thought it would leave it sticky and you'd still need to clean that off the mod

Well, I don't know about soaking something in water and causing corrosion but when I read this I immediatley thought about the atomizers I found while cleaning out my cupboard yesterday. I put the extra attys from my Janty JETS up in that cupboard right after I got my Woodvil which was about a month after I started vaping.
Anyway, they had the same s*** on them. I distinctly remember washing these attys before I put them away. I just threw them in the garbage. Heck, I don't need em anyway. I've tried other mods and even tried the VV route but it's just the Jatoba/Zebra Wodvil now. I don't clean it either. I have, on occasion, put some of that Howard Feed-N-Wax on it and rubbed it in good but the oil from my hand is usually enough. I wouldn't know about the Grands or Mini's because I wouldn't want to have a piece of aluminum in my hand all day. I have nothin against anything that Rob makes but for me it's my Woodvil and my Woodvil only.
And, BTW, if your Woodvil doesn't have any battle scars you're not using it.

Robert aka REO Rob, posted this in another thread today. I felt it should be here also.

Cartos love to kill springs .Every time you put a new carto or atomizer on your mod open the door. Press the button if you notice the button feels funny or any discoloration in the spring stop immediately . I think you will find you will catch it before it kills your spring . Always inspect the bottom of your cartos make sure the center pin is in the center and not protruding

I gave my Reo Grand it's first bubble bath yesterday, and gave up trying to put the tube back into the cap let alone back onto the stem. If I read this entire thread I might find the tips for an easy way to accomplish this simple(?) task. The sun is out, I have time to do so. ooops, spoke too soon lol. If anyone has a direct link or copied text, please share. :) (I'll be baaaack)

off to check for corosion... yikes eh.

Well sweetie, first, you don't have to remove the tube and cap to give it a bath! You can squirt water up through the tube and out the connector with a syringe, or just run water down through the connector and out the tube!

But since you have taken it off then you need to have a bit of persistence and patience. The tube goes through the cap with a little persuasion. If you have it cut to a point it is a bit easier. Also a little tiny bit of VG will make it slide easier. Ya know what they say about lube! HA!
Twist and turn and ease it back onto the little nipple. Take your time, walk away if it gets to hard. Go back and try again! You can do it!

Thanks!! Lubing never crossed my mind. I'll try again tomorrow with a fresh batch of patience. You're a doll!

::: making mental note to never take the tube out/off ever again no matter what:::

Just an old Trucker who has been vaping an eGo for about 6 weeks now. Dripping and driving too much of a hassle, so I've ordered a REO mini, 2 batteries and a charger on advise given at this site. Am I forgetting anything ? Already have 510 atty's on hand. Also, will I need a syringe just to fill the 'squonk' (?) bottle ? Finally, tell me if I got this right; fill the bottle and screw into place so the feed tube does not make conact with the bottom of the bottle, insert charged battery, attatch an atty w/drip tip (I just like my tip) and I shoild be ready to go, right ? Any assistance is appreciated, thanks

Welcome, PapawBrett :)

You may want to have two more batteries...but it's not necessary, just easier for rotation. You want to make sure that your atties have the little hole in the bottom of them so the juice can get through. No syringe is needed unless you like using one. The 3ml bottle is pretty small, so if you are dexterity challenged, you may want a syringe.
You've got the idea...so I think you'll be fine. Be sure to not over tighten the atty or the juice bottle. Prime your atty with about 5-7 drops of juice before it's first use if you're going to use a brand new one. Let it sit and soak in for about 10 minutes before the first use. Burnt atty is a flavor you'll not soon forget or want to repeat. Be sure to keep us posted...and feel free to post your own thread if you need any assistance. :)

Didn't know where to post this exactly, so here it goes!!
Are you tired of dropping your RBA screws?
No problem- there is a FIX for this!!!
Take a strong magnet and rub your screw driver/allen wrench on it 100 times (or more).
Now your wrenching tool is magnetized and the little screws will stick to it when you undo them too far or all the way.
This also aids in putting he screws back in the post. The little bitty screws stay on the wrenching tool as you align it with the threaded ends of the posts you are trying to screw into. If you still drop a screw, take your wrenching tool and sweep around the area where you dropped the screw and it will pick it up!!

Problem: my grand door keeps dropping magnets. I've tried liquid nails to hold them in, but they still plop right back out and stick to the battery or their opposite number on the body. What the heck can I use to hold these things in? I've got 3 more magnets on the way, and if I lose any more of them I'm gonna throw myself in the dirt again...

I'm not sure what "liquid nails" is, but I've used Superglue, and it works great. In fact, I replaced one once using Superglue, and got it in backwards. Never DID get it back out. Got a new door instead.

Alrighty, I'll give it a shot when my magic package full of magnets and a reomizer (!!!) comes next week. -sigh- waiting is the hardest part.

I would get a couple extra springs to have just in case.
