REOs not performing well?

I am preparing for when I get my reo. Have not bought it yet but in the process.
Is this the right noalox. Someone local was telling me I needed noalox A or something like that but the back of this bottle says reduces galling and seizing. Promotes good ground conductivity.

I have a question for the Woodvil nuts... I have found that cleaning my metal REO's (including the cyclone with coil in place) in a ultrasonic bath with just plain water not only cleans everything but it also appears to remove any build up on the contacts and the vape is just so perfect. Obviously I can't do that with my Woodvils which all still have original contacts and not the new gold sub ohm contacts installed... my question is I vape around the 1 ohm mark and despite using nolax (Detoxit Gold on it's way) I'm convinced the sub ohm kit makes a huge difference and I want to send my Woodvils to Rob's Spa.
I'm not a MacGuyver type and pretty pedantic and I would rather the expert handle the mechanics of my Woodies!

Once I tried to replace a collapsed spring in one of my Woodvils. I bought a soldering iron just to be able to try.
Ended up with a burn on the edge of the side from the heat of the iron. I couldn't even get all the hot glue holding the spring plate melted enough to get it out.
I sent it to Robert. And know that any future work I need done to the wood REO's will always go to Robert.
I am not sure if he has the new the top contact for the wood REO's. You might want to check on that first.
You also might want to see if the new stainless connector will be available soon.
Living as far away as you do it might pay you to wait a bit before sending them in.

A while back, almost a year now, I complained that the ox-Gard almost made my REO's performance worse (certainly no better . .. . .may as well use peanut butter). Someone brought up the list of ingredients (via MSDS) for both products. The difference is substantial. here it is:

I have a question. I was hesitant to post here only because so far my reo I got yesterday is working great....but one thing I notice is I seem to get a big drop in production once the battery hits below 4.0. Keep in mind I am only comparing it to my other mechanicals with the same type builds in them and the batteries I am using were all purchased at the same time in May and I number and rotate them.
With my other mechanicals, I can vape the same build down to about 3.6 with only a slight noticeable difference. Compared to the reo yesterday where after it dropped below 4.0 I had to change the batteries to get a satisfying vape. Once I put a fresh sony VTC4/VTC5 (can't recall which one I had in rotation at the last change) in it was back to bliss until it dropped below 4.0 again. Now I can keep vaping on it and be fine but there is a noticeable difference vaping below 4.0 on the reo vs some of my other mods so it had me wondering. I did put deoxit gold on the firing contact after the first battery change to see if that helped, but was curious if i should be doing something else upon start up with my reo to make sure everything is firing the best it can. I looked at the instructions that came with it and did not see where any initial maintenance was needed. So just want to make sure I was not missing something. Going to do some more reading but thought I would ask here too. Other than that I LOVE my new reo! Well even with that...I love my reo....LOL

What I hear about many tube mechs is that the contact is more damaging to batteries than the little rolled top on the REO contact.
Over time, it causes the terminal to pit creating loss of contact. It's possible that the small surface area of the REO contact is not conducting as well with the batteries used in tube mechs, particularly flat tops.
I'd recommend some AW IMR 18650 1600 mah's dedicated to your REOs.
Have you checked VD between the other mods and the REO?
In other news, swapping a battery is a mere pittance when one factors in fresh squozen juice on demand.

Nice! Thanks. I have the deoxit gold but mine is liquid in a small tube. The pen looks nice. I assume it is the same thing I have but yours is a nicer applicator. I use q tips and put the deoxit gold liquid on the q tip them put on contacts. Will look for the pen next time.
