Just wanted to update everyone on the issue I was having. Got the rebuild kit today, installed all new parts and working flawlessly!!!
I think it might have been the spring. I compared the old one to the new one and it was about 1 spring short. I'm thinking now it might have been my half a*^ed job at trying to make a phoenix bottom fed. Probably kept shorting it the whole time for about a week. Anyway thank you all again!

My Woodvil 18490 stopped working today, so I got the noalox and applied it to the positive contact. It still doesn't work. I applied a bit to the battery as well. No luck. What to do?

Check your atty or cartos and make sure it is not that. Check the switch on the bottom and make sure it is all the way on. You can also push up on the bottom switch a little and see if that gets it to work.

Yeah, it's not the carto. I tried a couple to make sure. It stopped working when I tried to refill the bottle with juice. While unscrewing the bottle, I noticed that there was some leaking, and some juice had found it's way to the outside of the bottle and underneath it. It wasn't much, so I just wiped it off.

Which side does the switch belong on - left or right? Doesn't work either way. Thanks, by the way.

You might try taking off the bottle and pushing up slightly on the tube that goes up into the connector. You may have a gasket that is leaking, hope not.
The switch, well you would think that with over 30 wood REO's I would know. But, I don't mess with them there switches enough to tell you! Geez, I feel dumb.

My new Red Mini is still having the issue with the button sticking and frying my atomizer. I usually can just press very lightly and it will be ok but w/o notice the button sticks. When it does it clicks and startles me. Two times now it has fried my atty. Help!! I honestly feel I am not pressing down too hard, I love my Reo Mini and don't want to be w/o it. Was even going to purchase another and send this one in to be looked at but all the good ones are taken :(

Hi deb, two things come to mind : either the incorrect battery (they work best w/ aw IMR 18490 or you initially pressed to hard and possibly slightly deformed the tip of the firing pin?

If the battery is moving down when you fire (look without the door) your prolly pressing too hard. :)

Might I suggest a good REO shower might be in order. Sometimes the button area can collect debris and cause it to stick. Make sure you turn the button while streaming the water down into the body. Also push the button down a few times.

It seems to be picky about the Noalox. I filed the tip of my long suffering grand a bit and just put a big splodge of it on there - worked fine but rather messy. Became crusty after about 3 days of me hammering it, so i just cleaned it and put a very small amount on it. No dice.

Today, since it's my 'fix anything and make new coils for the week' day - i cleaned it and put a little dob on the pin and either side. Perfect.

Seems to me there's a knack to this that i have yet to master.

Glossary:
splodge - bit fat dollop of something.
dob - smaller amount of the above.
Think ice cream - you want a splodge, not a dob!

I've had the exact same issue with the sometimes firing and sometimes not. I just ordered 2 new batteries because I've only had my Reo since Monday so I can't imagine it would be because it was dirty, but the batteries are about 7 months old that I used on my Zmax. I also ordered new springs because yes I got 2 collapsed springs today ( hubs did) when he tried to use 28g beading wire. FYI beading wire doesn't work. So I ordered 3 new springs so if he has another "I'm a guy moment" I have back-up. I also sanded both battery heads and didn't do any good. They are taking forever to charge so my guess is that I just have old batteries mixed with faulty spring due to hubs having a " I'm a guy moment". another issue I am having... There seems to be some suction or something in the juice bottle. I've tried pulling it out a little but it just goes right back in and it's hard to get juice to feed. Maybe I should refill it since it's about 1/3 full?

Take a very little bit of the tubing off at an angle with a razor blade, xacto knife, or small scissors. That way the tube can't seal against the bottom of the bottle and cause what you are describing.

I've had to do this with every one of my REOs.

As for the battery problem, make sure you are putting a little dab of the noalax on the end of the firing pin with a toothpick. There was a little ziplock bag with some included when you received the REO. (The gray goop)
