So would the unbraided wick faster then the braided?
The 1/8" would be interesting to try in one of my Scuba's.

now how do you add the coil wire,, do you wrap the rope then solder the coil in place attop of ceramic cup/I drilled out the holes in the ceramic cup to fit a small safety pin.(a sewing needle is to brittle and will snap instead of bend) Make little hooks on the end to be soldered so the joints are mechanically solid. The reason for the update is I had the small gauge needles snap on me and another slide out of the solder joint. Also the hooks make it easier to make a new coil and wick instead of threading the resistance wire through the holes.

I found your thread in the classifieds last night, unfortunately after they'd sold out. I already had everything other than the 27 guage tubing. Went ahead and ordered some. How difficult was it to work with? I may try drawing some solder into them to provide a little more strength.
Just wanted to say I finally got through the A2-T and this thread and Bulli you are a master craftsman when it comes to DIY atomizers but I am sure you hear that all the time.
I was looking at the iAtty or Bulli and I was really close to getting a Bulli (in cart) but now i might have to try this new thing out but I am a solder noob but I guess you gotta learn somehow.
I drilled out the holes in the ceramic cup to fit a small safety pin.(a sewing needle is to brittle and will snap instead of bend) bent the safety pin so it makes a hook that will tightly clamp the wall of the ceramic cup through slots for the wick. Made little hooks on the end to be soldered so the joints are mechanically solid. The reason for the update is I had the small gauge needles snap on me and another slide out of the solder joint. Also the hooks make it easier to make a new coil and wick instead of threading the resistance wire through the holes.

What kind of drill bit did you use? I tried this a couple of months ago and I couldn't get it to work. Diamond encrusted, maybe? Thanks!
