Thanks! Yes, that's what I found out. I suppose the diamond bur was a dremmel bit? I was going to use a larger syringe needle but your idea would work better I think. Was that an XL ce2?

It is, I cut down an xl to fit a custom size tank tube. I dont like the way all my regular size rev 5 ce2s had the air tube and positive connector as 2 pieces. I got like 40 of what I believe were rev 3 xl clearos in a trade and the tube and positive connector base were one piece.

By one piece, do you mean molded as one?
Every CE2 I've had so far, the tubes were press fit into the positive contact.
Just curious, and apologize if I'm totally out in left field. Have the needles up to the cup as you have done. Then have some needle/tubing that would fit inside those needles. Solder small pieces of this smaller tubing to the coil ends and just insert these inside the larger needles? A sorta plug-n-play coil![]()
It is easier than that wrap the ends of the coil around the hooks pinching them betweem the outside wall of the cup and the hooks

Ok I must say you are some kind of genius, I have never owned a ce2 but you have convinced me to buy some and make them repairable, I have some questions, do I need to get the xl ce2, I was also going to purchase a tank system as well so I assume you need to get the xl version for that, were do you get the wire, the wick and the mesh to repair them, and can you make the ohms different buy adding more coils or thicker coils. Thanks for any help.

Mine arrived today. Looks great thanks so much for the nice work. I think I am really going to enjoy this and now that I actually have an example in my hand I may even try making one with the awsome instructions you have shared with everyone. Thanks so much.
I DID IT

I totally made one of these great repairable CE2s. The instructions were great thanks so much BigBulli but what made me know I could do it was having one in my hand....I am sooooooooooo visual.

I even did a couple tweaks that made sense to my non-modding non-male brain. First I chose to use a metal CE2 rather than a clearo, mostly because I knew it fit my Torpedo tank well. When I was getting my safety pins ready I chose to leave the point on, I pushed this in hard between the metal base & metal tube in the area of the old neg. solder. It held great which helped when I soldered it.
The most difficult part was drilling the holes in the ceramic cup larger. I broke the first one but the second worked great.
Making/installing the new wick was super easy.![]()
Now I just want to find some of the old CE2 style wick, the tiny kind. I vape 88% VG, the remaining 12% being distilled water & PG free flavor and I have found the tiny old style CE2 wick wicks best for me.
Again BigBulli I thankyou for sharing all your research and knowledge with us.![]()
