I filed off that solder and just put a nice bend in the safety pin so it springs tightly against the inside of the battery connector
Does this side come loose? also, did you use diamond bits to widen the holes in the ceramic cup?

Yes, that pin can be removed. That was not my intention though but it is working fine for now.

I used a diamond bit from harbor freight for the ceramic.

ordered 2 vision stone version II tanks so i can mod em into rebuildables. stainless steel top and bottom caps.

anyone try it yet??

I was planning on doing the same thing. I placed an order last week when they were still out of stock. Of course, they get restocked the day my order shipped. Instead, I picked up a 5ml vision grand. I was going to use it until it was bad then mod it but I'm not exactly thrilled with it now so I might go ahead and try it. Let us know if you mod the vision stone. That should be bad ....

I purchased a couple of the vision stone II tanks to modify as I really like the repairable ce2's I've made. After using the vision stone I sure hope I like it after modding it cause right out of the box I am not impressed.

I now have 4 stone tanks. 2 have failed due to a broken solder joint. I've modded one with this method. The jury is still out on it. I added a second wick from a CE2 and now the coil won't keep up with the wicking:). Out of the box they are fiddly but I quite like them. I found they should be held sideways to vape (keeps the wicks wet) and not to fill them above the notch where the wires enter the cup. I'll try to get some pics of the mod up this weekend.

I ordered a couple of these as well. I got the vision grand last week but haven't yet modded it. I think it's going to be ideal because the cup has 4 slot because it has 2 wicks. Probably what I'm going to do is use 2 of the slots for the coil connections and use the other 2 for the wick. Another thing is the vision grand is big enough I think I can use a stainless steel mesh wick and not have any kinking from the sharp bend needed in a regular ce2.

The center connector is too long on the Stones/CartZillas and pinches the wicks when tightened.
I file mine to flush with the outside of the 510 connector and it wicks much better.
I also trim the inner flange of the seal that goes inside the ceramic cup.
The edges of the connector and air grooves are so sharp that I file them too.
Once they burn out, I'd like to make mine repairable a la BigBulli.

Thanks,
Lee

does anyone know where to get a bigger ceramic cup? to be used in a tank and make more room for more wraps of resistance wire for higher ohms.

Can't help with the cup but if you are looking for just higher ohms you could use a smaller gauge resistance wire. I can only fit 4 wraps in there so I use 34 AWG Kanthal to reach a resistance to my liking.

Any chance of getting those pics up Vinny ?

Here is my take on a repairable CE...built off a fluxomizer chassis lol. The lead wires are actually paperclips! Then some silica thread and some nichrome for the coil. Hits like a champ!

Bidding on some 27 gauge tubing on eBay, but then decided to go back and read the recent posts here. Cool take on this locke! Just bypass the holes in the cup, niiiice.

Working on a repairable CE2 with SS wick, will have to try this (paperclip) and BB's with the 27 gauge tubing.

Thanks!!

I just modified a Vision Grand yesterday and the cup is larger. The Vision Grand has 2 wicks that cross in the cup. Lots of room in that cup for you.
