Hi all, I am Jeff. Got introduced to e-cigs at a Christmas party 2 weeks ago and decided I should try them to quit smoking once and for all. I am 48 yrs old, smoke a pack & 1/2 of Marlboro reds a day give or take, sometimes less. Been smoking since I was 19 yrs old when I joined the military. Ordered the Blu premium starter pack this morning with the "full flavor" juice (is that the vernacular??) about 16mg of nicotine. I will give it a try. Sick of smoking and the price...I just need something to get me over the hump.

I would appreciate any advice you guys have...

Regards,

Jeff

hi and welcome to ecf. glad u gave up cancer sticks. if u got some bucks to burn, try going for the links below. its like skipping all the inbetween mods like eGo, Riva, epower etc. but they are a lil pricey.

(copied from my another post)

mods:

provari
Lavatube
infinity pro
Megalodon

Tanks:
Arry tank
DCT tank (comes with SS cap options too)
SS liquinator

Kudos to vaping. Vape on and GL. once again, welcome to ecf.

One word of sdvice. Drink lottsa water as the vapor comes from our bodies and not the juice. The PG and more so the VG "traps" moisture from our mouth, throat and lungs thus the vapor. I drink 2 large glasses in the a.m. and about 2 liters per day. Dehydration is an issue with vaping and can cause problems lessening the vaping experience.

Welcome to ECF Jeff. Once you have your kit, give yourself a bit of time to get used to it. While vaping can replicate a lot of what we like (d) about smoking it is not smoking and requires somewhat of a learning curve. Yes, you'll see many devices that might be inviting to you and maybe you'll, at some point, own a few. For right now though, learn to use what you have coming to you. Good luck to you!

Congrats! your on your way Jeff. There is soooo much out there you can learn from ECF, but I agree with bigtime. Get to know what you like and don't like about your e-cigs. And this can take a while. Took me over a year of smoking cig style e-cigs to realy get the feel for what I wanted in a E smoking device. I found I like simplicity and something I can hold in my mouth like a cigar. After a lot of looking and reading I finally picked a HS Echo. Not for everybody, but perfect for me.

You are going to have a terrific journey. Enjoy!

Welcome aboard!

Like you, I'm new to vaping. I just received my first kit in the mail today, a eGo passthrough battery model. For me it's ideal, since I spend a lot of time in front of my computer on a daily basis. I can vape while the battery is charging, and take it with me when I need to go out.

I hope you find your ideal gear soon! Happy vaping!

Haha no pun intended. those are good references for his future purchases. and planting them in this thread means he can always come back in future to look for the links (with the thread posted option).

Seeing him with blu, i am betting he'll upgrade pretty soon. xDD if its a volt, then it'll take a lil longer to upgrade hehe.
anyway i forgot to mention about juices in my previous post. get a blend of 80pg/20vg or 70/30 if pg isn't an issue with u Jeff, pg carries flavor better and the lil vg gives u a gd amt of vapor. Also, just get juices in bottles of 5ml (for finding which flavor u like) or larger bottles so that refilling becomes cheaper than getting prefilled carts (which some carts taste really bad). Vape on!

Wow no one told him yet! Permission granted! Best peices of advice I can think of:
Watch the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward-pif/85781-deals-steals.html this one saved me a ton of money.
Also watch http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward-pif/214873-pif-group-treasure-chest-revised-edition.html they give away some cool stuff on there...please remember to read the rules though.
Drink lots of water...that was covered already.
If you find you like it but the e-cig you are using doesn't quite do the trick don't worry just means time to move up.
Ask lots of questions people here are very friendly...and seem to really enjoy helping others get the best experience.
Go to the Casaa website and read up on it ...that way you will be prepared to answer the questions people around you ask when they see you vaping.
Read the symptoms of quitting analogs so you won't wonder if it from vaping. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/3305-list-symptoms-when-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html Coughing was my major one but now OMG I can breath again!!
Enjoy your newfound freedom and that little thrill ya get when you say "no thanks, I quit."
Oh and welcome to ECF!!!

LOL welcome back Jeff...info overload??? Believe me we're not misfit wierdos, just very passionate about vaping and helping others stop smoking. Most vendors began their business because of that passion and have continued despite obvious and blatant opposition and roadblocks by BP, BT and Govt.
Happy Vaping, Vapoor.

Thanks all, much appreciated for your taking the time. Give me a day or two and I will let you know how things are going.

Jeff
