One word of sdvice. Drink lottsa water as the vapor comes from our bodies and not the juice. The PG and more so the VG "traps" moisture from our mouth, throat and lungs thus the vapor. I drink 2 large glasses in the a.m. and about 2 liters per day. Dehydration is an issue with vaping and can cause problems lessening the vaping experience.

If that were true, we could just squirt some juice in our mouths, wait a few seconds and then exhale.

The vapor comes from the heating of the PG or VG base of the juice, which creates a misty fog that is just like the fog machines you see at concerts. Just take a hit, pop off the cartridge tip, and look down the barrel of the atomizer/cartomizer. It will be full of thick vapor.

The water intake part is true. PG dries out the mouth. It's a humectant that absorbs water droplets from your mucous membranes. Drink lots of water when you vape.

And, a big welcome to Jeff48!

When heated vapor enters our mouths it is at a higher temp and the mouth is at a lower temp thus the vapor. Same thing as a fog machine- heat the PG up and as soon as it enters a cooler environment it sucks the moisture out of that environment. Without your mouth on the PV heat the coil up. some vapor but not anywhere near the amount when we inhale the juice and exhale it. A few weeks ago I went in to see my ear, nose and throat surgeon and I explained vaping to him at length. I asked him specifically about dehydration and PG/ VG and he explained in exactly the same terms I posted.

Roger that Vapoor, no overload. Good folks here from all over with no perception from me of "misfit weirdos". I work with enough of them everyday! I am just concerned that I purchased the right kit but from what I am am reading, it may take some time/trial & error and that is fair. The overall goal is to stop smoking...I will try to enjoy the journey the best I can!

Jeff

LOL welcome back Jeff...info overload??? Believe me we're not misfit wierdos, just very passionate about vaping and helping others stop smoking. Most vendors began their business because of that passion and have continued despite obvious and blatant opposition and roadblocks by BP, BT and Govt.
Happy Vaping, Vapoor.

ROTFLMAO

All I can say is I smoked 1 PAD very strong analogs for 40+ yrs and tried everything to quit. This is the first time I've ever believed I'm not going to my grave a smoker. You can do it like many of us have. As for getting another PV immediately be patient, look around, find out exactly what will suit your needs and wait for some incredible deals.
Happy Vaping.

Same here! Also started when I joined the Navy. Officially stopped smoking a couple weeks ago. I'd bought my last carton back around Thanksgiving and slowly cut back until they were gone. But the analogs were a backup while I worked out the kinks getting the right system for me.

Many of us started with the cig 'look-a-likes' but quickly moved up to the larger batteries. That's why many of these threads recommend the Ego/Kgo/ Riva type stuff. (or E-power) I'd save the higher voltage mods for later, though I've gotten a fairly cheap one from Madvapes.

Most all my vaping is with the Riva/Kgo (E-Power) type batteries, since they seem to have the sweet spot on voltage and a wide variety of cartos to choose from.

Permission granted!

And welcome aboard, sailor!:toast:

Haha always welcome~ And also, permission granted! (left it out for 3 post =.= silly me lol)
Also take note on future mods when purchasing. try to get 510 threaded stuff. it has the most toys (cartos atty etc) to play with and sourcing for parts for a 510 battery = no sweat.

Welcome!! A pack and 1/2 a day of M. Reds and starting with 16mg. . . don't get discouraged if it doesn't seem to be working. Most PAD + seem to start out with 24mg and then cut it back down as the cravings subside. As important as the equipment may be, the e-juice is probably more so. As many have posted, you can cut the nic down, but you can't boost it back up. Don't over-do, but be prepared for a lot of trial and error . . . vaping is a very personal thing!!

Again . . . welcome!! And enjoy the adventure!

You are doing really well Step, keep it going. Don't hold it against me, but I was a Marine, the Men's Department of the Navy....LOL Did some time on ship back in the day, TDY and going back n forth from Okinawa, JA to South Korea when required. For some reason, we deployed to the ROK when it was always -10 degrees in the Winter....LOL

This is news to me ... I had no idea and I have been thirsty all day ! But I usually drink a lot of water, I'll just be more mindful to drink my water.

My bad!
The title of the thread just tossed me back to when in the Navy and that line had to be used to get aboard ship.

So sailor (squid) was inappropriate.
Jarhead would have been better?

And yeah, they never let us play with guns unless that was your job. (mine wasn't)

While it's true that moisture content of the air that enters the ecig when you draw on it plays a part, the 10% water content of PG or VG is sufficient to produce the vapor by itself. It can also be enhanced by moisture in your mouth and lungs, but that's not where the vapor is formed. You can prove this by attaching a long clear plastic tube to your ecig and using that to draw on the ecig. The tube will fill with vapor without the vapor ever touching your mouth. PG and VG suck up moisture wherever they contact it. That's why you get thicker clouds of lingering vapor when temperature and humidity (dew point) is just right outside. The vapor will hang in the air longer instead of dissipating as it sucks up moisture from the air itself.

I too am sitting in my chair vaping a nice Keoke coffee.. no more going out in the subzero north! Welcome aboard! I was a marb smoker too and found I needed to up the nicotine to 18 or 24 for the first couple of weeks, but have decreased to 12 now. If you give vaping half a chance, you'll do it!! I've had great success with my V2, and find there's TONS of great information here, though it can get pretty confusing with all the recommendations from the vets.. keep it simple in the beginning, a good quality battery and cartomizers, simple two piece design to start with. I find if it gets too complicated, I tend to give up. And I never expected to like the flavors... chocolate, coffee, pomegranate... mmmmmmmm! V2's red is pretty darn close to a marb, btw.. if tobacco flavor is what you're after. Best of luck to you!
