Please Enlighten Us with the Facts that are Known. And How Exactly we know they are Facts?

I'm reading More "if's" than Facts.

Read the OP.
Go look at how your rig mod is made.

Now go watch a few dozen IMR 18650 batteries vent and pay attention to which end pops.

Use deductive reasoning to underatand what happened.

If it isnt obvious you should avoid mechanical mods.

And vendors should stop selling them to Darwin candidates?

Which would be almost everyone on this thread but you apparently.
Well, you and maybe a couple of others.

Because very few on this thread seem to understand what you do.

My point here is very subtle, but I hope it's more obvious than I think.

People have enough issues just grasping electricity.

Now you want them to understand the mechanical connection of an electrical circuit.

Good luck.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...
And again, and again, and again...

And for future reference, I have zero plans to shut up about it...
:)

My wife has a 135 IQ, which isn't spectacular, but she's smart enough I guess.
And she thought a "short circuit" was a blown fuse.

Some of the "Darwin theory" folks need to wake the hell up.
There's coffee brewing, smell it.

So in Other Words, we do know too many Facts.

Like whether the Battery was a Genuine or a Re-Wrapped ICR.
Or Whether there was Damage to the Wrapper?
Or Whether the Battery was inserted Upside Down?
Or the Way the RDA Connected to the Mod?
Or if the OP was actually there when the Accident Happened?
Or How many People the Story went thru before the OP Heard it.
Or How Accurate the Story was that the OP Heard?

My IQ is high enough to thank you for reinforcing my point.

Yet Ninjas point still remains valid.

Mine isnt subtle.
Know your limitations/accept responsibility for your actions.

Dont play around with advanced gear if you dont FULLY understand what you are doing.
Mechanical mods are not toys.
You cant fake it.
You will get hurt trying to look cool.

Apathy isnt hip, its dangerous and foolish.

If this offends any special snowflakes, good.
Maybe they will slow down and educate themselves before they get hurt.

You just don't get it.
And I am quite certain you never will, nor care to try.

THEY DON'T KNOW THAT THEY DON'T KNOW.
Sorry for yelling, but it doesn't get any simpler than that.

Ignorance is never an excuse.
I would love to post an example of something potentially very dangerous...
Where any person can get one without having any idea of the potential danger...

But I can't think of any others.
It's just this.

Maybe some of you all smarter folks can think of a suitable example?
If not, that should be a clue that your argument is invalid.

And please don't give me chainsaws, lawnmowers, and muscle cars.
That insults the intelligence of an average human being.

Ok try this, do something illegal, get in front of the judge and explain that you where not aware of the law and "you don't know what you don't know". See how far that will get you?

Okay, that's not a bad example.
Especially with some of the laws on the books around this world.

MXJO battery installed in a rig mod by a vape shop employee that vented and blew out the switch moments after installation.

If you understand batteries and that particular mod, its clear.

Argue all you want, you know Im right.

I've said this before, and it bears worth repeating:

When it comes to advanced mass marketed systems like cell phones and laptops and hybrid electric cars, the system designers of those products have taken appropriate steps to make them "safe" for uninformed end-user use. In other words, "idiot proof". Purely mechanical unregulated battery mods and uninformed end-users is a dicey proposition.

Most consumer battery operated devices are no where near the limit of the battery's operating limits. The high-end flashlights, RCtoys, and mech mods come to mind as applications that really push the limits of a battery. With the RC toys the device is physically far removed from the person so a mishap is inconsequential. With a mechanical mod a mishap is literally in the persons face with dire consequences.

As long as an uninformed end user can purchase a mech mod online or in a shoddy vape shop, there will be situations like the OP of this thread had. I don't know the solution to the problem. As an individual, I do my best to educate new vapers the best that I can, but that's not going to be enough.

If anyone disagrees with this post, there is no way to reason with them.

The legal system will be left to sort out the rest.
Unless the FDA does it for them.

Argue all you want, you know Im right.

So what we know is that a Battery with MXJO Wrapper on it was installed by a Vape Shop Employee in a "Rig" Mod and short afterwards the Battery Vented causing the Mod to Explode.

And this we Know because we Except that what the OP Described is what happened.

OK. Cool.

And the Rest are just Educated Guesses based on what is Likely. Or what might/could/would/possibly happen if some other Factor(s) were involved that the OP did Not state.

Seems like we Know a Lot Less than what we Do Know.
