Sorry, it's coming in from Greece. You know, the country. At the edge of Europe. The place where they're devaluing the Euro single handedly. Sorry, zero percent chance of it coming in time.

I can make you a hell of a deal on 100 feet of 30 gauge kanthal wire, however.

Me thinks this delayed delivery schedule was done with malice aforethought.

Your 100 feet of wire won't add much to my 8 to 10,000 foot stash. (I tend to make really, really big coils. I use a 55 gallon drum to wrap them around instead of a toothpick.)

Think I'll wait until you get home, since you have a Reomizer2, and presumably posters in other threads don't.

Reason being that if it's .4 being difficult, .5 will be impossible. Thanks for your help.

And my quick research shows that the thinner the ribbon, the higher the resistance. Some folks are saying that the resistance in .5 mm is too low for HV/VV/VW

.5 mm is for 3.7 v vaping
.3 mm is for HV/VV/VW.

Thinking a .4 would be a safe, all around bet. But I'll wait to see what you KNOW will fit in the reomizer.

Tried mine last night too Clyde, just couldn't wait for my ss mesh to arrive. On hand, 0.6 and 0.5 with both being acceptable as far as coil building goes. What I do is cut a length thats long enough for your use. Start wrapping it around a bit, nail, whatever from the middle of the wire then work your way to the ends. To me its easier than round wire because it retains its shape better when wrapping. So far I have wrapped coils only with slight gaps in between and nut scrunched together like others use with round wire so thats a ? there. I believe the resistance on the .6 is about the same as 30 gage round wire. Which of these is better? I can only assume that the .5 maybe better for small diameter coils, I use 1/8" bits and the .6 works well. Got the .5 from Kidney Puncher A-1 ribbon and D from germany zivipf.com who sells on ebay too. A-1 about $6 for 10ft (they say prices will go lower) D $10 for 10m (33 ft) and for now can't say that the A-1 is justified for its higher cost.

ebay link for the .6 and the seller has other sizes too

Another A7000 enthusiast?

And I'd like it to get here sooner as well.

Right. But there's different types of ribbon wire, and just want to make sure I get the 'correct' one. Do you suggest the .4 or .5 mm?

Seeing a couple of good deals from a vendor in Greece. Do you suggest .3 or .5 mm? I'm thinking .3 would be easier to get in the post holes...

To me the .6 wire is easier because it doesn't flex as readily like the .5

BTW, shipping from Germany was pretty fast, 3 days longer than Kidney Puncher, total about a week to Hawaii. Checked again, 8 days

So have you reached a verdict yet? Do you think its better than round wire? Oh, and can you tell us the wick you used with it as well.
Inquiring minds want to know...

If I was asked would I go back to round.....maybe, if the ribbon doesn't microcoil well. Haven't tried a micro as of yet. So far cotton balls are producing a more flavorful vape than silica and holding up well. LOL, its only been a day. Tried the A-1 (0.5) once and tried different resistance of the D (0.6), hey the price of the A-1 prevents equal tests :). Too bad the D didn't come earlier or I would've send some over to the okie meet with the other stuff yesterday. I just might put about 3 ft of the D in an envelope and send it to Alice or Scoot since I have their addy. When was Alice leaving for the meet, Thursday I think and Scoot I think a little later so probably best to send it to him. I'll pm him and see what he thinks.

Didn't you mean to say you'd send 30 feet. Need I remind you that we let you become a state rather than just a speck in the middle of an ocean.

Albeit a rich little speck in the middle of the ocean. The US govt would have to pay dearly to use Pearl Harbor, Hickam AFB and Schofield Barrracks as well as numerous other smaller bases. Just look at Imelda and see how many shoes she got :)

30 ft!!!! Thats almost all . I'll see what I can coil in a ziplock and fit in a envelope (small one), don't want the ends to stick out and stab a postman now do we?

Do you heat the ribbon with a lighter before coiling like you do with the wire?

Thanks.

I have been torching the wire before install but is it necessary? I don't see a difference, maybe a faster burn in but for adjusting the coil looks to be the same. Most of the time I have double vision and its difficult to get my spacing between wraps even. Built a 1.3ohm 0.6 coil this morn that has 8 wraps which are real close but nut touching and the vape is A++++. Getting super clouds and flavor with this thing. Btw I'm using cotton ball wick and my VVG set at 4.05 volts, so be excellent for a RG as well. The vapor production is so much that I can't exhale all of it at once. Juice is all VG so YMMV with PG or blend. :)

Jack if ya following this I'm gonna send Scoot about 12 ft of this 0.6 Kanthal D ribbon wire so you guys can play around with it at the meet. Don't go tieing up the women folks with it.....bring yer own leather straps

The hell with them, we're gonna be in Oklahoma... I'm gonna use it to lasso a little bitty woman. (Hope she doesn't have a little bitty gun.)

Very nice of you to send 12 feet, Nutz. We'll think of ya, we won't think well of ya but we will think of ya.

Jack

I knew you say that, thats why you didn't get any of my A-1 ribbon wire :p

As far as the little bitty women...its her relatives I'd be afearing ;). Don't wanna see you hanging from a tree dude....especially with ribbon wire around yer neck. I'd feel soooo bad

Damn. That's a solid wall of wire. Looks badass. Do I need to get me some of that? I also repeat Sterno's question - how do ya get the wire in the holes?

Looks like coming from under the coil into the post hole to me....but hey I'm Nutz :)

edit: Sorry for the bad answer, with my poor eyesight I thought the wires were much thinner

I know it's not on the reomizer 2, it's on an ERA, but this was my first attempt at a microcoil. Ten loops of .30 Kanthal, 1.79 ohm, rolled cotton wick. Took me forever to get the picture too, apparently the camera on my new phone doesn't have a macro setting.

Beast. How does that bad boy vape? Great looking build.
