been noticing some weird issues with myself regarding running and general PT.
Ive been an avid runner for 6 years now, i usually run 3 miles at a fast pace every other day, i started smoking 9 years ago at about half a pack a day.
while smoking i really had no problems running, it never really affected me and my run times. when i would run my lungs kinda felt like an achy feeling, like when you didn't have a cigarette for a whole day and you had that achy feeling in your lungs like they were empty.
i started vaping about 3 or 4 months ago, everything was normal and in fact it was a little bit better, didn't run out of breath so fast, could go longer. however after about 1 1/2 months i noticed that i was becoming seriously out of breath, and my lungs didn't have that empty feeling but rather felt like they were full of water or something, I also noticed that my legs and body were getting tired as hell, like i was out of shape. i haven't felt tiredness or aches in my legs while running since 5 years ago when i first started running, i found myself having to stop at 1.3 miles and start walking.
anyway my ecig broke and i went back to smoking shortly after, within a week i was right back to normal, running 3 miles with no issues or effort.
a month ago i started back to vaping, got a new e-cig and different juice this time, and now like clockwork today i went running and didn't get past half a lap before i had to stop and catch my breath and give my legs a rest, freaking overweight people were passing me on the track.....
does anyone have any idea what the heck is going on? everything else has been absolutely positive while vaping, my headaches have disappeared entirely, i don't cough anymore, and i feel like i can breath at night (before i would wake up because i stopped breathing).
are there any symptoms after quiting that would give you a heavy feeling in your lungs after quiting, or perhaps there is a chemical in cigarettes that help your lungs expand or something? lol i know its ridiculous but its getting really out of hand, my job depends on how physically fit i am, and if i don't start getting better run times my career will be in serious jeopardy....
I would go to the doctor but I already know what they are going to say, thier stance on vaping is that its just as bad or worse than cigs...
they will just tell me to quit both and put me on chantix
