Works great out the box, loaded it up with fresh juice, and been vaping on it for a bit. No hotspots from what I see, resistance settled at 2.0 now, so I've been running it at 4.0V. Gonna look to take it apart later... maybe.

Ninja edit: I did tape over the hole, and put a new, smaller pinhole. Draws much more to my liking now.

Update on my personal experience... It's definitely just crappy mesh. I finally got one working perfectly, 2.2ohms. When it's wet, it hits GREAT... I'm actually starting to not hate the airy draw. I can inhale directly into my lungs with the airy draw, instead of pulling it into my mouth first...

On the downside, the wick that is now working perfectly, got bent in my angered state, so it doesn't pull juice up like it should. Keep getting dry hits because of it. Oh well... Time to make another wick. Having a coil finally work right has made me feel less angry, and more like I just needed to re-learn making vertical wicks.

EDIT: Okay, it's definitely a wick problem. I've got one working perfectly now, and you people aren't kidding... It's dry hitting alot, but I think that's part of that whole "couple days to break in" thing. When it's wet though, OMG! I'm a 10 watt vaper, and I'm sitting here using it at 1.8ohms @ 3.8v. That's only 8 watts, and it's hitting like a freaking train...

EDIT: Resistance dropped to 1.7ohms, but it's working stable at 4.2v. I find that as long as I hold it just above horizontal, it doesn't have many dry hits, unless I chain vape. I give to you, the PeaceKeeper(internet points for anyone who knows the reference):

PeaceKeeper was the name of the baseball bat in the Werewolf movie called Silver Bullet. At least that's the only one I know of.

LOL Incidentally that is a great movie, but I was referring to the PeaceKeeper. The most powerful American made missile with an atomic bomb payload ever made.

I think I was wrong any ways lol.I think the name of that bat was peace maker.I've never really heard of the names of American missiles except the Apex and Patriot.

Is there some initial prep I should have done first?

Sig goes: Mwaah!

If you got it and put juice in and then tried to vape then first mistake not meant in a mean way.The wicks need to be broke in and take a day or 2 to do so.Also you want to break them in at a lower voltage between 3.0 and 3.3.You can do the drip then fire.Just dip a few drops onto the coil and fire for like 3 seconds.Do this for a couple of minutes I usually do mine for 5 minutes like that.SS wicks do require a break in period.

chopper oxidizes the wick before installing - give it a day or 2, those wicks need to be broken in to some degree

i got mine, too, today but knocked the wick out of alignment by accident - got to undo the damage before i can try it out

What!!!!! oh bad tibs lol.

I've begun the process of modding mine a bit. I hope that isn't blasphemy here, but at the price point, I don't feel bad about modding it. I swapped the positive post out with the positive post from a Phoenix atomizer, which works great. Next up, My husband is going to drill out the wick hole a tiny bit, and put a flanged spacer in it, so that the wick can't short on the body. Then I will order a cap with no hole in it, find the drill bit that matches my other RBA's, and use it to make an air hole in the AB cap.

I know what you are thinking... I just can't leave well enough alone. I'm enjoying the heck out of it now, but I just love to tinker.

See now I love Choppers work so don't get me wrong, but I think just about anyone who gets into rebuildables of any lvl loves to tinker.
