what causes the hotspot on coils again? ie near a post (red when fired) while the rest doesn't go crimson
Make certain the kanthal is tight on the posts and you don't have a crossed coil.

Hey Everyone,
Chopper asked me to let you all know that they are currently without power, and the phones are down. There are 4000 people currently w/out power in his town, and all the hotels are full so they are stuck sleeping in the car right now. He is not sure when they will get power back up; all he has currently is his cell phone. Please be patient with anything you have pending with him at this time.

Just glad to hear that he is safe...........maybe uncomfortable.....but safe! We had a bad storm here in 2006 in July and were without power for a week. That was miserable. The basement stayed fairly cool for about 2 days. After that a cool shower was your friend. Good Luck Chopper.....we are thinking about you.

Oh, wow, I'm glad they are OK, but that's gotta be miserable. I don't know how hot it is where he is, but in KY, we've been having 105 temps. I really hope they get the power on soon, there!
Wow that is awful. I am not far from him if he needs a place to stay he is welcome to come here. We have a huge finished basement he could use. I can not imagine having to sleep in the car.
It is miserable here too. I did not go outside but I heard a terrible storm last night too. Hope he was not in his car last night. It was 97 still even at 6:30 last night. Seriously if you talk to him let him know he can stay here if it is not back on. We have a nice new air conditioning. We were without air last summer for a few days while waiting on the new system so i know how miserable it is and I at least had fans.

Hi everyone our power came back on sometime today.We was gone trying to get out of the heat its been triple temps here where we are.So so glad we are home again and I thank God all of my animals made it.We kept them with ice water the entire time.We lost power at 9:30 last Friday night the winds was at 70-80mphs here.We got hit with the some of the worse of that storm.So I have to take another day or two off to clean up.Some of our roof was torn up,our kitchen flooded and we had to keep 8 dogs in the house if that says anything.Also we have a lot of food that has been lost in our freezer and fridge.That has spoiled and well the house does not smell very pleasant from all this.We had no water because we are on a well water.We tried to get a hotel/motel room but all was full for 50 miles.Trying to stay cool in a movie theater gets expensive.Cars are not comfortable to sleep in at all.We could not get to friends or family as tress were down along with power lines and they was without power as well.

I will get back to work soon as we have our home straight.We are now going to Wally world for cleaning supplies.
Never even had a chance to get a generator they were all rented or sold.I know now what to invest in lol.
Our spirits are high even though we lost some things we didn't lose one another or our animals.
So please bare with me for a few more days we have a lot of cleaning up to do.
