On another note....just tried the "J" wick with my Scubagen.....actually working better than the normal "U" wick did. Same wick, just cut one of the legs off. No wicking problems...be chain vaping 60 VG with no problems. :)

Did you seal the other hole or let it be? More condensation or less?

I would think that would be something anyone can pick up if they choose. Me personally, I like the poly or SS. I use the syringe in my Gtank more often than the SS tank....but I just want to see how the wicks are working with my juice. Once I get a good feel of how well the wick is working....I'll go back to the SS just for the looks.

How far down do you have the hook of the J going?

Does anybody have a good way to get the polytube off the SGV3 once it has been on there for a couple of days. I can't get mine to budge. My previous one I used a screwdriver to pry up from the bottom but that gouges the heck out of the tube.

Seems like I did some sort of leverage trick after I got the top peice off, one end of socket extension against table and other against metal part of the spool, was able to grip poly and wiggle while exerting pressure, after that I just rocked it off with my hands...

For years I have used Dow Corning® 111 NSF/FDA Approved O-ring Lubricant for the seals and O-rings in espresso machines. I tried it on the install of my poly tubes and it works very well. Also when it came time to rebuild the units... they came apart easily. It is food grade and an excellent lubricant for alot of applications.
Dow Corning® 111 NSF/FDA Approved O-ring Lubricant is one site source but there are many others.

You can get it in 5 - 10 gram packets also... But if you use it for differing applications such as I do it is well worth it to get the tube. A LITTLE goes a LONG way! I also noted that all I had to do to the tubes was take off the burr from the pipe cutter before installation when using the Dow111. It sealed very well with absolutely no leaks.

Question for Dan, I an going to attempt to make one out of ss, will be making a program on a cnc lathe so if I need another one ill just setup and run. I make plastic surgery products and we use silver solder on lipo instruments so i wanted to incorportate it into the mod, I wanted to know also if i can use ss tubing or rod for connectors instead of wires. I want to modify the connection for the kanthal, some input would help thanks

The J wick seems to be working better than the other. I likes it. Also I had to double wrap an O-ring on the center shaft to keep the wick off of it as the surface tension of the juice would keep pulling the wick up against it no matter how I bent it away. Now my SGV3 is working the best it has to date.
