Hey just went back and doubled checked. The measurment I gave you is for a 510 atomizer, not a catomizer. The Attys are 9.15mm but the cartos (CE2 XL clearos) are 9.45mm OD So a 3/8"ID oring would be better. Since I do no think they make 9.5mm o-rings... dunno will have to look. I would measure the cartos you have and then go with the oring closes to it. Anyone able to mic the outside of a steel carto and post the dimension here?

hang on i can measure a metal ce2 its all i got handy... ok 0.361" on a metal xl ce2 at the base its 0.363" if you need metric i'll have to get my other caliper lol

I want to get a couple of these modified caps, but I would be modding mine to use a regular atomizer inside anyway(can't stand cartos), so the different sized O-ring helps me LOL.

LOL Wish I'd have known. I threw out a 20" Flat Panel monitor last week because it had a single 1 pixel wide blue line down the middle.

Sentiment greatly appreciated but I couldn't ask nor can I afford to pay shipping...I may make the wife angry and commandeer her kitchen TV since it has an hdmi input...there go any nice goodies she may have been planning to cook me...knew I shouldn't have given away my last spare flat screen last month...but hey my friend needed a screen for her kids comp since her old CRT blew out...need to hit the dump again and look for a few screens and such...don't understand people tossing perfectly good machines...

Well .361 would be 9.17mm and .363 would be 9.22mm
So the 9mm orings should be ok.

good job dan i got out my other caliper but its only got the little vernier scale i spaced for a min how to read it lol
got 9.18 and 9.22 - i like my dial one better its more accurate i think

My crapy plastic HF caliper says ~9.15. I think I will look around for different thickness O-rings and see if I can come up with a combination that would only require a change of O-ring type for different carto / ce2.

I also put two of my SGV3 caps up against a carto an came out with a couple of possible problems.

My caps are 11mm high. That would put the hole in the carto kinda high from what I have read on how to get them to work well.
Also if you wan't to use a standard carto your tank would be ridiculously short.

So, what I did was go to 1 o-ring and cupped the end to allow for a lower hole in the carto and hold more juice. I also shortened it some to lower the profile.

The only issue now is I'm not sure if it would hold a carto tube stable enough for a modified SGV3.

I don't know about a co-op, unless somebody else wan't s to deal with the organization i can co-ordinate the machine shop end and just ship all of it to them. =]

I'd be okay with doing the organization part. I have nothing but free time anyways.

EDIT: Also, That MAY work fine, as long as the top cap does not have that cup. That way the top will hold more surface area of the tube and keep it straight.

if its tight enough on the carto tube then the cup should stay. i think they should be tight enough that it should be almost too hard to get together. i dont think it should be able to slide around too much like some of the other designs out there imo...

I made another revision. I scaled everything down as much as possible keeping a minimum 1mm wall thickness. I gained almost 8mm of tank usable height. Should work for standard and XL carto's. I think I have the inner O-ring grooves to where they will work with 9mm o-rings and 9.5mm o-rings for 9.15mm and 9.45mm carto's or attys.

Now I just have to get a prototype made to test it out.

I found that putting a hole in the side and putting in a length of ce2 tube to direct the air directly to the coil works even better. My tube is about 1/16" away from the coil.

I had an interesting experience yesteday. Dropped my Precise P-18 with the Scubagen on it. Initially I looked it over and didn't see any damage at all. I was out for a walk with wife and dogs. About 30 seconds later I could feel the P-18 getting hot in my pocket. By the time I got it out and unscrewed the batteries were searing hot. I chucked them out of the P-18 onto the ground and both of them popped... This was no fault on the design of the Scubagen. When I dropped the unit it must have landed on it base and the 510 atomizer connection I had at the base of the Scubagen crushed so that the batteries were shorting out at the 510 atomizer connection. I had been using CR123s and of course they were unprotected... The P-18 is not large enough to accept two 16340s and I really like a 5+ volt vape. Like I said an interesting experience. The SS GGTS has a fuse spring fuse as an option that I have on it just for such an occasion but the P-18 does not.
Any way when I rebuilt the units (Both of them Last night) I used your suggestion of plugging the positive feed wire hole and porting the top chamber with a piece of tube from the CE2 atomizers that I was using as 510 connectors... Man it really vapes better than before... and I have no worries of condensation building up at the 510 connector. Thanks!

An additional thought... When I ordered the P-18 I asked the SuperTMaufacturing if they were considering doing the same as the Golden Greek and adding a spring type fuse to the unit. The response was, "No... the only time we have heard of batteries exploding in our units were due to crushed batteries being overtightened in the unit or batteries that were scraped exposing the inner lining to the wall of the unit..." Not true I tested my P-18 with the Scubagen on it and confirmed that the short was at the 510 atomizer at the base of the unit.

I believe someone said to use food grade silicone to seal the hole at the top.

You don't really need to close up the center post hole as there is less air resistance at the top however I just filled it with the positive wire and solder instead of soldering the wire to the outside of the center post tube.

On one I also used a little bit of dense foam rubber and shoved it in the top making sure it was far enough down to avoid heat from the coil. Probably not a recommended method. =]

I need to get my #2 rebuilt so I can have one for each flavor.

I had an IMR 18650 go off in my pocket last week. I forgot and put 3 coins in that pocket. One of the quarters got onto the top and shorted to the side. It was a bit scroungy and some of the plastic wrapper was missing. Just enough to make the connection.
Didn't take me long to find it. whoo hoo. But it and my leg are just fine now, it took a re-charge with no problem.
