The Inoxia stuff seems to be cheaper the smaller you buy.. kinda backwards, huh?!

Is 15cm x 15cm going to leave too big of an unusable piece after the wicks have been cut to size?

Anyone tried using both 325 and 400mesh 1/2 and 1/2 to get decent vapor and TH?

SS Mesh is also available in the USA from McMaster-Carr.

85385T885 Corrosion-Resistant Type 304 SS Wire Cloth 400 X 400 Mesh, .001" Wire Dia, 12" X 12" Sheet 20.58 each

85385T883 Corrosion-Resistant Type 304 SS Wire Cloth 325 X 325 Mesh, .0014" Wire Dia, 12" X 12" Sheet $13.39 each

When I purchase from McMaster-Carr my items arrive the next day, as they have warehouses all over the US. The shipping is normally <$5.00 and you will have to pay local taxes with your online order if applicable.

ETA:

These sheets are larger than the A4 sheets that The Mesh Co sells. However, McMaster-Carr doesn't give you any free sheets of Superfine Mesh.

SS Mesh is too hard to handle, meaning that SS Mesh is a PITA to cut and package. The more you handle the SS Mesh the more frayed, curled and bent up it becomes. I personally would not want to purchase the SS Mesh in a Co-Op, unless someone handled it with enough care to not fray, bend or curl it and it was packaged properly. Too much work if you ask me.

Do you have to fully open a used wick to clean it, or can it be cleaned in the shape that it is rolled into?

BTW- I finally really looked at the Mesh Co and the only difference that I see between A4 and A3 is the size---I thought that it was a higher or lower grade!!!

"Mesh is very very good once you get on top of them and I have mesh that ive been using for 6 weeks "

Without cleaning?
Hot water and a toothbrush are your friends clean the coil and mesh without removing it just brush it gently in the direction the coil runs

About a year's supply if you make your wicks with a 40mm x 12mm size and you use one wick a week. Off course it can last much longer once you get into the hang of things. I guess a 400mm x 400mm could last a few years....

Well if it is 6x6 and you cut the wicks out like so for the scubagenv3:
Wicks.jpg
4.5 inches long x 5/8" wide
you would have 11 wicks.
Dan

Added, opps I was thinking scubagenv3, you did not specify the unit you were asking about :)
For the G-tank-US it will produce 50 wicks, 10 15mm x 152mm strips then cut into 50 30mm x 15mm pieces.
