A total mutt. He belongs to my sister, but I get to play with him since she only lives 5 minutes away. My dogs aren't exactly puppies anymore. There's a lot I miss about the puppy stage . . . but housebreaking isn't one of them.![]()
Okay, since you brought up the subject.... I've been helping a friend out by stopping and taking her 5 mo old pit bull to try to help her housebreak him. She's the second owner since the original had it in an apartment that the landlord didn't allow dogs. What she didn't know was the pup is deaf. If you think housebreaking (and everything else) is difficult getting a puppy to be a proper dog, you haven't lived until you experience this.
I suggested she get a vibrating collar (not shock) to attempt to get him to look at you, then get it trained with hand signals. I work with him a bit when I'm there but he seems to have ADHD also. I don't envy her deaf dog and a two year old, whoopi.
