Get enough juice to last between mailings, and so that you can skip vaping something you end up hating. I'd suggest several 10ml bottles. You will probably go through about 5ml per day of something....so don't let yourself run out. Everything you're getting sounds great. Good luck. You are going to be amazed at how easy it will actually be to get off cigarettes! Keep us informed.

That sounds more like pharmacy math, yeck! 18mg/ml would be like %1,800 since 1ml=1mg (roughly speaking with most liquids).

1.8% would be 1.8mg in 100ml of whatever. **edit** I think, I am sick and tired right now. This can get complicated but I think that what I said is right, at least right now I do haha **edit**

Dolphin, thanks for the advice and the link. I wish you the best with your COPD and if their is ever anything I can do to help shoot me a PM. And is there any reason you prefer the clearomizer v2 over the CE4 or any of those others?

I think we both need to give up until we have slept. 1 mg cannot always = 1 ml. Otherwise, in our case all our juice would be the same strength, and healthcare professionals would not need all this complicated math.

But to keep from confusing everyone even more, here is the formula:

% of solution = grams * 100
volume of solution

I tried to do the math for an example, but I am missing something soI am leaving it alone for now.

One think to think about- is you go with a twist or other ego, you will want to get more than one. Gotta have something to vape on while the first one is charging!

Personally, once you figure that in, I feel the chrome lavatube mini from apollo is a better deal. Ends up being just about the same price as 2 twists, but it is a better PV, and has a 1 year warranty.

Apollo VTube Kit
(remember to use the code vtube30 to get 30% off)

A spare battery would be good- they are like $8

You can also get an extender tube if you decide to go with the 18650 batteries later.

Agree with Ryand and Nuuze,

Two Vision Spinner 1300 mah batteries, an ego charger, And a Kanger T2 or T3 Clearo, or my favorite a Smok Mega XL Cartomiser. Get a couple of each and you will have extras and great batteries that will last. Add some juice - tobacco flavors are difficult to replicate real smoke and rarely will but HHV Dark Horse or Gandolf is another close option. Try some watermellon as I found that fruity juice helps clear the palette.

True, but rather arbitrarily so since the apparent convention is to label mg per 100 ml, but 100mg nicotine concentrate is not "100%" liquid nicotine. This confused me at first a little when trying to determine DYI juice until I realized how this was being presented.

I had just had the thought, hey, why couldn't I pick up some glycol and get some pure nicotine juice and make my own.

I think we both need to give up until we have slept. 1 mg cannot always = 1 ml. Otherwise, in our case all our juice would be the same strength, and healthcare professionals would not need all this complicated math.

1ml does not always = 1mg. Thats why I said roughly or something of that sort. 1ml of water = 1mg at 760mmHg (atmospheric pressure). Most liquids are pretty darn close to 1mg = 1ml though, and for these glycols we can just assume 1mg=1ml for practical purposes

Now I am too tired to think of the weight in volume versus volume in volume percentage units so I can't think anymore about this right now lol.

The lavatube seems too big to be portable for school/work

Vision Spinner is better than joye ego twist?

You can get your own Propylene Glycol (PG) and/or Vegetable Glycerin and make your own juice. We refer to that as DIY. Just make sure it is USP pharmacological grade stuff. Wizard Labs sells it for cheap. As for pure nicotine...you won't find it. 100% nic liquid would be deadly just to look at :(. The highest I have seen is 100mg / 10% and that stuff is serious dangerous...you have to wear gloves and be ultra cautious not to let any of it sit on your skin for more than a few seconds and wash that off with soap and water.
For now, I'd go for the premixed juices and read up in the DIY juice sub-forum for a while before you attempt that...it can be much more hazardous than cigarettes if you don't know what your doing.

No, the Vision Spinner is cheaper than the Twist and is still a good product...it just does not quite make it to it's max stated 4.8V under load where as the Twist does. Not a huge deal, but I went for the Twists when I got a kit together for my stepdaughter.

Ha! As you can tell there's no 'one size fits all'

Look on various sites that people have pointed you to for starter kits. I had a friend help me when I first started. He told me 'get an ego'. So I found them!

I was a pack/a/day smoker, and I didn't care what the battery looked like. I also know there's 'better' mods out there (like the vision, etc etc) but I sorta just like my eGo's. Its no nonsense. I got the twist, so I could play with it a bit.

Make SURE when you order your kit you order juices. They don't normally automatically come with juices. And for the first week, I promise, nothing will taste good. Find places that have juice sample packs. (My fav so far is from juicy vapor. 10 samplers for a decent price, I will be ordering from them again soon. hoosierecig has a good sample pack too)

If you're like me at all, you won't like tobacco flavored juices. I like mine sweet, fruity to food tasting.

And good luck!

editing to add: I only vape about 3 mls a day. I started with a light mg % and am weaning myself downwards. I love the flavor and feel of vaping. Its more soothing than the nicotine. Although you WILL most likely go through withdrawal symptoms, it won't be as bad as getting off nicotine. Cigs have a LOT more chemicals than vaping does, and you'll go through the withdrawal of all the other crap too.

I am really interested about how trying to quit for the long term will be. I frequently (when going home for the holidays) go multiple days without smoking and its not too bad. But as soon as I am alone/away I can't stop myself from picking up a cig.

I was setting up what I wanted last night and my package was reaching $100 and I decided I needed to wait before I ordered it. I did go ahead and buy one of the $13 eGo kits from Vape Dojo. I figured at least i would have an extra battery & charger or I could pass it on to a fried.

Here is what I am considering getting

1. Either a joyetech or vision twist 1000+mah battery (because it seems if you get twist the mah does not effect the size?)

2. A standard 650mah or smaller battery for size, so I have something easy to transport.

3. Vision Ego Clearomizer V2.0 (Is there any prefrence between which clearomizer to use, or all they pretty standard?) (also, are clearomizers the best thing going right now, versus tanks and stuff?)

4. 24 ohm atmoizers

Is myvaporstore pretty much the cheapest place to get all of that? I noticed they do not sell the vision twists though...

You'll want more than one clearomizer...

My 'grand total' was around 180 dollars for juices and devices. I also haven't even tried an atomizer. I am liking cartomizers. (you can get them decently cheap too!)

But here. Here is a kit with everything you need except for the juice: EGO KIT MINI They also sell juices, and samples! Its a small battery, so you may end up charging often.

Well the only refrence point I have is the Finiti disposable. It pretty much did not taste like anything. Maybe a very slight funkyness from something sizzling but that was about it. If the vape would taste like that I would be fine.

But earlier I was given a link to a website that sells pure, unflavored, nicotine liquid. I will definitely be giving it a try.

Oh yah, do I need to get a "collar" with the stuff im getting? It does not look like the batteries come with them?

I think your set up will be just fine. All of those things are nice to have.

I have 2 eGo 650s that came in a starter kit. I purchased an eGo twist because I wanted to use one battery all day. So I use the smaller batteries when I'm out of the house. The Twist is my desk companion so I can chain vape.

As to clearomizers, those you chose will be fine for now. Should you want to experiment, there are lots of little bits and bobs you can buy to change the vape... but the most important thing is to get started.

You could spend hours trying to price-compare and save a buck or two.. but the items you picked are commodity items are all roughly priced the same. It might be best to pick a reliable vendor and begin vaping.

I've found I vape much more at home, than I do when I'm out. Vaping totally replaces smoking for me and I don't want any regular cigarettes, or even any of my previously beloved DJarum blacks. It took me about 2 days to get used to vaping and figure out how much I needed to do to feel satisfied. When I smoked, I knew when the ciggie was done because I'd have a visual. With vaping, you can vape the tank dry if you want. You'll know you had too much if you get headaches and feel lethargic.

My lungs cleared up in a few days. My taste buds came back pretty quick too. I did pick up a head cold over the weekend so I can't taste anything right now, but it's not from vaping. I blame my Son's day care and the constant exposure to germs from all the kids together.

Give it a shot. You'll end up finding the right combination for you. The most expensive things on your list are the batteries and they'll last you a while. They'll also fit many types of cartomizers, clearomizers and tanks, so you'll have the freedom to experiment and still use your batteries. The stick batteries do conceal nicely and fit nicely in a pocket.

Post back with what your experience is.

Hi, Broken, been following your thread and it sounds like you are making great progress. Here is a kit that is pretty good Ego Twist V2 Vision Kit

I would upgrade one of those batteries from the 650 to 1000 mah for an addl $4.

Vapedudes has a great deal on juice for first time customers 40% off with the coupon code: vapedudes. They are very busy right now and behind on shipping.

Mt. Baker Vapor is a great site. Great juice and some of the best prices online Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes, USA made E Juice, and Accessories

Just suggestions and I know we are all excited for you and anxious to see how you are doing.

Sounds great. I am glad I went ahead and placed the order for the Katana kit & juice from vape dojo, that way I have something on the way.

I also got some juice from Xtreme Vaping as suggested by r77

PG100MGsam Xtreme Nicotine Liquid Sample
PG/VG Base Liquid : PG (Propylene Glycol)
MG: 100mg

VG125 VG (Vegetable Glycerin)
Size: 125ml

25mg60mlMix Xtreme Nicotine Liquid 25MG
Size: 60ml
PG/VG Base Liquid: 50/50 PG/VG Mix

I figured the Vape Dojo Katana kit + the 5ml bottle I got from them and the stuff from Xtreme would give me a good amount of possible options/blends and I will have enough equipment to get started and make sure that im ready to spend the next $100 on the variable volt stuff.

Thanks! I am checking out the sites you suggested right now. I think I have enough juice to get started with at least. Im hoping my initial small order will be enough to give me an idea of what I like, but at the same time not wasting anything because the stuff I ordered will be still be useful later.

I am thinking after I get my stuff and finals are over I will write up a guide for newbies that applies everything I have learned here.

Only thing that sucks is now I have to wait for my stuff to be shipped!!!

Sounds like a brilliant plan. We see soooo many newbies overwhelmed by all the info and choices and sometimes they do nothing due to paralysis and fear. I always like to see someone just go ahead and get SOMETHING in their hand to get started. Then the bigger decisions can be made-- and made with a bit of first hand knowledge and experience.

DH is unemployed and when we started this last June we were on a very tight budget. I was one of those paralyzed ppl, cos I felt that If i made a wrong choice we couldn't just go right out and correct it. Luckily after one round with the gas station cigalikes we landed here and got an ego kit. I have since upgraded to a twist but my honey is still vaping away on the regular ego's and couldn't be happier!

Please be careful when handling/mixing that 100mg. Most people start vaping at 18-24mg- many end up going down to 12mg.

I whole-heartedly agree with this set up!!!! The ego twist is a great starter and the carts and ViVi's won't give the harsh dry hits you sometimes can get off of the ego attys. You get some great vaper with this set up and it will simulate smoking more than a C or T kit that I and alot of folks started with. If you are a heavy smoker, as I was, then you want to see great clouds of vaper to make you feel like you are smoking.....

This starter set is FANTASTIC advice. ....wish I had this advice when I switched...could of saved myself $$!

I will be careful. I will wear gloves when I mix it. I plan on diluting it of course. I ordered some of their VG and plan to get some PG from walmart or somewhere (I saw somewhere they sell USP PG at walmart)

I actually bought everything at a higher potency than what I expect to use because I figured I could dillute it and save money.

I also found out that the "Finity" is not as bad as I originally thought. Turns out holding the vapor in my mouth for a much longer period (say 10 seconds minimum) makes it actually effective.

Now im dieng to get a shipping notice on something!
