I just saw on the TV show 'Justified' one of the characters smokes a ecig. And in another scene they were talking about seeing someone "smoking some kind of vaporizing thing".
They gave the ecig a nice close up too. She was hitting on it for about 5 minutes. Hospital told her she could
smoke it there then someone told her to take it to the stairwell.
Took a pic for ya.

I am seeing ecigs pop up in all kinds of shows. Susan Sarandon was using one when she guest starred on an episode of Mike & Molly. On the new Amazon Prime show "Betas" one of the characters was puffing on one in the pilot episode.

Sean Hannity was discussing this on his show today. He's coming out as a strong advocate of the benefit of vaping over smoking (aka harm reduction), and, as he's always been, a strong opponent to the ridiculous, uninformed nanny-state histrionics behind the push to ban PV's.

Further evidence that Fox is the only major news organization that has been mostly supportive of vaping.

2 words spring to mind when reading about the 'shreikers' and all their hullabaloo.......Knee and Jerks. :vapor:

In all I think this has been a good thing, I'm sure there are a lot of celebrity types out there-who, like a lot of us are sensible, intelligent adults, and will have that F U attitude about being told what they can and can't do (within reason).

I think 2014 is going to be a good year for 'celeb-vapers' paparazzi'ing it big time.

I watch Justified and was intrigued to see they incorporated vaping into this episode. It was done in a neutral manner except the part where the guy told her she couldn't use it in the waiting area. Of course he did that just to get her in the stairwell where bad boy Boyd Crowder could get up close and personal with her. Too bad Marshall Raylan Givens doesn't vape. We could use a no-nonsense vaper on TV.

Now just because it is always liberal Democratic senators who are screaming and writing letters about the need to stop vaping everywhere, we must "understand" that it is not a "political" issue and also "understand" that it is not liberal Democratic senators who want vaping eliminated. It must be just a coincidence. Just like it is a coincidence that the FDA tried to have vaping banned in 2009 when a new administration came to power. And it is just a coincidence that the President appointed a life-long lobbyist for Big Pharm as the head of the FDA. We shouldn't make any connection between politicians with a particular leaning and nanny-state legislation and the need to stop vaping where ever possible. These are all just coincidences, nothing more.
Love it--but is your tongue still in your cheek?

I thought it was interesting that the media research center and CNS news decided to cover this too. That is another little bit of evidence to support that it really is a right vs left issue.

Yes, it's marketing to children when you show e cigs on tv at an event like the Golden Globes. Of course a bunch of drunk actors and actresses brandishing their alcohol of choice is fine. As is having Hoda and Kathie Lee, drinking every day on morning TV. We live in very strange times.

Nice find. It does seem left vs. right but the celebs are mostly Left and some are vaping. It's more of a 'we know what's best for you' crowd vs. individual freedom types - libertarians. There is (or used to be) a 'civil libertarian' streak in the Left, but with political correctness and outright censorship, targeting their 'enemies' - tea party and certain news media not furthering their propaganda - with the IRS, NSA spying, anti-gun, environmentalist, etc., that libertarian streak is all but gone but perhaps ecigarettes can light it up again.

And the Left doesn't occupy all ground in the 'we know what's best for you' area. The religious right (and left) has some of those too - 'your body is a temple' types, some of whom reject any type of 'addictive' or mind altering substances - nicotine, alcohol, etc. The mainstream media is loaded with the 'non-civil libertarian' type Leftists. The non-mainstream media - talk radio, Fox, and many internet sites have all types, but the libertarian or right but libertarian leaning types are the most vocal on rights, liberty, and ecig type issues where either no one is harmed or the perceived harm is only with the individual - ie. no 'rights' are being violated.

Richard Blumenthal, the same man that took away extended clips in CT. When will people remember that our government is a system of judges that get to decide whats right and whats wrong. If you don't take an interest in the people you let judge, your going to get people that don't represent your beliefs. That means they are going to take away our stuff.

Didn't want to start a new thread but this is in the area of 'regulation' and how to fight it. This week's 'Stossel" on Fox Business News 'War on the Little Guy' (originally aired in Nov/Dec '13) shows how some have 'beat' regulators - nothing on ecigs but a good showing of what some who have been successful in fighting regulation have done. Mostly - they made their situations known publically and got support - so every comment on articles here help. Most know this, but this just validates this fact. If regulation becomes soooo unpopular and nonsensical, then there's a chance of winning. A portion of the show is on youtube but it runs all week and can be picked up - check local listings :)
