I think you are.
When our first shop opened up here, you could see a variety of ages as well. That changed in less than a year when the young kids moved in and took over. And price matching? I would LOVE to see any of the shops here do that!
There are 6 or 7 older guys (65ish) in our local place every Friday afternoon with their Vape pipes. They come for tea and to meet each each other / see new flavours etc. It's nice to see in my opinion. Yeah the price matching is great to be fair! Bought a Koopor Plus for £30 2 days ago, quite a nice mod as it goes, for the price anyway!
Didn't realise just how lucky I'm am!

Ok, what the heck is a furry?

See, if I was still teaching I would know. Not being with young people means I'm not up on things anymore.
People who wear furry tails and fluffy ears and identify on some level to being an animal.
My ex was one, we parted ways when she started marking her territory...

I'm 60. The area where I live, I'm considered a "youngster". I get stranger looks when vaping outside, from the "ancients" (80-90s). Had one call the sheriff when he saw me vaping.
When I venture to the shops up north, I'll get some looks from the young crowd. Then they see me vaping my REO and want to check it out. I'll school them on bottom feeding. Show them that they don't need a .05 build to get a good vape. Warn them about those Efests, shops love to sell.
What's sad is when I tell them about the FDA regulations, and that is the first they have heard of what's pending. If the employees give me the cold shoulder, thats OK (not) I just don't go back.

Went into my local shop and there was a crowd of around a dozen kids in front of the counter and a couple more behind the counter all vaping and shooting the breeze. I thought, oh jeez. But one of the guys behind the counter came straight round to the back of the crowd to take care of me. He moved the crowd over so I could get the drip tip display.

The other customers ignored me but they weren't rude or anything. I felt a bit out of place, which is on me not them. The service was fine and I've been back there.

I didn't go to the vape shop to hang out, just needed a drip tip and some juice. If people my age wanted to hang out in vape shops there would be crowds of old geezers in front of the counter and the kids would probably be venting about how annoying it is on forums.

I commonly refer to the Vape shops around me as the new head shops of the past. Lots of the people I've met in them, remind me of those I used to find in head shops too. Most of them were tobacco smokers who found vaping and now think it's cooler to Vape than to smoke. So now they've gotten all their friends into it, too.

I'm more with y'all. I may be in my 20s but we don't share the same sentiments on vaping. I don't do it to blow the biggest clouds, and the things I look for in a mod are different than what they're looking for. Because ultimately I'm doing this to keep myself from smoking cigs, not because I think it's cooler than smoking cigs.

There is only one Vape shop around me I actually like and appreciate as a good shop. It is owned by a guy and he runs the shop himself. He's done a great job of making the shop a community where people can hang out and talk about vaping while also checking out the new gear and juice.

The other shops around me I've gone to have fine selections, but they don't know near as much about the hobby. To the point that, my bf went in there with his big foot and a subtank and they were giving him lots of crap for that setup because it's not regulated. He tried to explain to them why it was ok and that he understood battery safety and all that, but they didn't even want to listen. They made him feel so bad about it that he left and didn't even get what he went in there to get.

We bought that mod from the other shop because Eric knew we weren't idiots and that it was exactly the mod my bf was looking for.

Ok, that sounds pretty strange to me.

I just accept that humans are great apes, and I don't need fur or a tail.

Takes all sorts to make the world go round I suppose!
I guess it'd be a dull place if we were all the same :)

44-year-old tootle puffing bachelor checking in. I still consider myself pretty hip, so I don't feel out of place, but I do think the younger gen is giving vaping a bad rap. Quit blowing giant clouds everywhere guys. Not every draw you take needs to be a competition. Blowing clouds out the windows of your car while sitting in traffic...vaping in places where smoking isn't allowed...clouding up outdoor seating areas in the restaurant district...you're making us all look bad.

You might not be ready for the working world yet if your resume is written in textspeak.
I've seen it and it does not bode well for our futures.

all i'm saying is, they might have a different attitude or outlook in life than you but still, if you are that insecure or feel like you can't communicate nor have the extra time (patience) it takes for service because your "not young" or don't have a "200w godzilla", then spend more money and drive to the next town, this is not 4-5 star resort atmosphere / employees were talking about, think skatepark and budget help ..............

I'll tell ya about customer service, at my shop....

I someone managed to break both of my tanks on my TFV4, stopped in on the off chance they had replacement glass, they did not. The 23 year, mohawked, tatted, stretched ear clerk went into his own personal gear bag and pulled out his TFV4, took the glass off and said, here take mine man, you can give it back when you get a new one....

Ha, Ha. Hello, Im RB, and I`m a vapor. I am 50-ish, and vape mostly 80-20 PG-VG, so I`m not a cloud chaser persay, but I can block out the TV in one puff. :?)

Vaping is so personal, let the vapor vape, as long as he is of legal age in his state, I don`t care how he does it. As long as he don`t blow himself up, :?(

That sounds like the shop I frequent most often.

Tat covered girl with side of side of her head shaved walked in while I was talking with the owner.
He attended to her while I waited.
She's a relatively new vaper, single mom on a budget, with a busted tank.
He doesn't know her but says here's a replacement.
She doesn't get paid until the next day.
He said pay me tomorrow when you cash your check.
Owner wins at life even if she never comes back.

Over 70 "oddity" here; and the five shops I regularly visit am greeted and given hugs by one and all, tats, plugs or no and given super service even though hubby and I look like we stepped out of the 1960's with our apparel. However, all employees have been given training in how to treat ALL customers and how to be professional. Plus, even though they have some super duper rigs, they don't blow clouds as it would intimate a "brand new to vaping" customer entering the shop.

I do find that the youngest of the vapers seem to be more shy? quiet? aghast? Ha! that grandma and grandpa just walked into the shop. Never mind. Just greet the people we know, get the latest gossip, try the new juices, look at the new mods, buy my juices and leave after about an hour. It's my juice run and I visit a couple or three in one day.......sides getting a haircut. Winds up being a wonderful, entertaining day. Am definitely lucky in having so many shops available........and, oh yeah, I like to talk to all ages and get the skinny on "what's up." Ha!

Even though I'm a Tootle Puffer and rarely get over 9-10 watts, I do find with newer, more efficient tanks and my own rebuilt coils and wicking, do make more vapor than ever before.......Also, go through more juice. I can make my kitchen hazy in no time flat! :)

That's one reason I always smoked menthols no one would ever bum one unless they were really desperate.

For a while, I was smoking those silly Eve cigs, the long skinny ones with the flowers printed on the filters? NOBODY tried to bum a cigarette off me when I smoked those. It was so effective, I KEPT smoking them! LOL!

53 here and I'm not old. :) Nor young, ok, but maybe I wouldn't like to be that young again and have to learn everything all over again.

My advice is: if the people at that shop make you feel unconfortable (and there's always that possibility that they don't even know they have that effect on you) just go to a different shop.

I also agree with that sub-ohming fad thing that's already been mentioned, who blows the hugest clouds etc.

The vape shop in my area is only 5 minutes away so if I need some juice or coils real quick I go there. It's owned by a kid that's in his 20s I think. His girlfriend and friends all hang around there. The first time I went in to buy a battery for my Pegasus mini. I showed him the ICR that came with it and he said that was ok but he gave me an efest as well. I told him I had no real knowledge of batteries for vaping and he didn't really explain much to me. It seemed like he was bored with this 51 year old woman lol. After I got home I was looking for information and found that icrs are not considered safe and the efest batteries have had bad reviews as well. I didn't use them and ordered some LGs after asking questions on here. (Thank you ECF). I went in a 2nd time to buy the joyetech vt60 and another guy was there as well. He was still a young man, tattoos, hairy lol but he answered all my questions and was very friendly. I don't care what they think of me. I might feel and look stupid asking a bunch of questions but I want to vape safe. The consumer has a right to ask questions. I just think that sometimes these vape shops have people working in them that aren't always that knowledgable. PS. I have a piglet tattoo on my right shoulder. Lmao
