You say you are on inhalers now? Those inhalers contain the exact thing your juice did pg its also in food and beverages we eat and drink. I seriously doubt that the vapping you did is the cause of your current problems. Even the flavorings are food grade. I think your stress is the culprit here and you are focused on the vapping because the symptoms happened to show up after you tried it. Nicotine in small doses has been said to be no more harmful than drinking beverages containing caffeine. You say your chest xray shows normal that should tell you right there your short vapping didn't do any damage. Be sure to follow up with your doctors too. I hope you get the help you need to get better.

Thank you everyone for the support. I do realize that the vaping is probably NOT the most likely cause, and anxiety is definitely contributing. I also agree it's odd that it would take a month to start having symptoms after use. It's just that I wasn't having anxiety until the SOB symptoms started, so it's very strange. And I'm not worried about PG or nicotine causing the symptoms. I'm more worried about some unknown contaminant that snuck in there, that maybe is causing it. Or the flavoring chemicals are tainted,and/or not meant to be inhaled. Some people on another message board said the batch that I got "tasted funny", and they didn't really vape the cartridges, so that scared me too. Chinese quality control is not something they are known for. I realize I didn't get much of a dose of anything from 30 puffs or so (didn't even finish one cartridge), but if there was something really bad in there, well, you never know what could happen. I'm trying not to think about it, but it's impossible so far. I guess my biggest fear is if I really did hurt myself, I vaped only a few times, and for no redeeming reason. Why did I do that?? It's a tough thought. I am definitely going to see a pulmonologist and I'm going to see a psychologist on Friday. I'm hoping he can ease my mind a bit. I will never smoke or vape anything in my life again, I can tell you that! I just want to feel normal/happy again....

To be honest, I don't really know. I was just curious. I have seen other people vape, and I thought maybe a little nicotine could help my mental focus at work, without the risk of smoking. Or get a little buzz, or whatever. I've been really kicking myself for 3 weeks now. I almost didn't do it, because I wasn't sure of long term effects, but I was only planning on trying it for a little while. I figured even if it was bad for you, a few times wouldn't cause any lasting effects. Soooo, stupid!! I'm hoping it's anxiety causing my symptoms now, but I'm really scared I've ruined my life. I do plan on seeing some doctors again (pulmonary and a psychologist), but the thing is I will probably never know if this is really the cause. Unless I ever feel 100% normal again, it will always be at the back of my mind. I have a lot of life events going on right now, plus work. I can't concentrate on anything.....

Your story does sound strange. Hopefully the psychologist you have arranged to assist you can get you on the path you need to be on.

So back to my original question. Has this kind of thing happened to anyone else?? Especially after very limited usage?

Nope.

And isnt very likely either. I suggest you visit the CAASA website and do some research paying particularly close attention to the numerous studies involving e-cigs.

If I had to hazard a guess I would say youre either a hypochondriac or have a more nefarious purpose in mind here.

You wouldnt have gotten it a MONTH later. Its from something else, so I suggest you see a doctor if you are concerned.

What he said, 30 days later? No way is that from the 30 puff you took a month ago. I to suggest to see a dr. Hope it is nothing serious. I some times get shortness of breath on very humid days. It could be something simple too.

Well, it sounds like no one else yet has had any similar issues. So I guess that is good at least.....

I hope you are feeling better today :) I am not a medical professional, but I really doubt your issues were caused by the small amount of vaping you did. I smoked cigarettes for 30+ years, meaning I continually inhaled 4,000+ toxins and carcinogens every day, and I'm still alive to tell about it. I quit a few months ago and have been vaping steadily since then, and I feel great! Our bodies have an amazing capacity to heal, and common sense tells me that you, in all likelihood, did not suffer any long term physical damage. Of course, only your doctor can determine that, but if this vaping thing is the only thing worrying you I think the odds are in your favor that he/she will give you a clean bill of health on Friday.

I had to do a long walk yesterday and I did feel a great deal of energy. I do notice more energy when I walk my dog.
Ok a friend of mine recently married, could hear his wife wheezing in her sleep when she slept.
After 4 or 6 months off analog he stated the wheezing is gone.

Now back to myself though I stated I do feel more energy when walking, and not breathing heaviy anymore as I would.
There are times when I go up the stairs and I do notice I breathe harder.
So go figure, check withyour doc like others have said. But if you can after a visit with the doc, do more strenuous exercise
increase the lung capacity. That will definitely help.
Though I at some point need a knee replacement I can move somewhat ok.
On my new job asssignment I will be walking up some hills now and again.
So that will cause me to work those lungs a tad more, which I am glad of.
Good luck and I am sure u will be ok.

No offense, but after reading this post I think you are overreacting to the extreme. I am not just calling you out for no reason, I just found out a week ago I have a tumor on my adrenaline gland and I go for an MRI on friday, most likely will need major surgery. So, I totally understand how devastating health issues that can alter our lives can be. BUT, from the wording in your posts, I think you have an anxiety issue, not a lung issue. Anxiety manifests itself in many ways, most commonly SHORTNESS OF BREATH. I know people who don't smoke, but when stressed they occasionally vape, and I have never heard of anything like this. I am not ruling out that you may be that one in a million, but chances are YOU ARE NOT. So, I hope you do not take offense to this, I deal with anxiety, especially after getting the news about my tumor, so I am just trying to help and offer my opinion. Just calm down, replace the negative thoughts with something rewarding, and take long slow, deep (as possible) breaths when your pulse gets high and you can't quit thinking about this. Good luck to you.

I think this post is all a act.. some one trying to make e-cigs look bad. I would not put it past big tobacco to put some one up to something like this. I was a pack a day smoker. Been vaping for 2 years. the first year was all china stuff do to me not knowing that vaping was this mane stream now. I was conned by "smoke-51" at my local mall. I bought all mt e-juice from them at $15-$20 for 10 mls. I know what a dumb ... I was. I didn't know anyone else who vaped. until I stumbled upon GrimmGreen. Then I became aware of all the Made in America juices . But any way. the first year was all china juice and my lungs are fine. After vaping for 10-15 days with no analog cigs, I stopped wheezing and hacking in the morning, No more clearing my throat from Flem brought up from smoking. My point is all that happened the first few weeks on china juice. I'm not saying china juice is the best around or even saying its good, but it got me off cigs with no ill affects like this guy is talking about. I apologize if I sound insensitive but it sound like he is making this up

I have to admit that my first reaction to OP was that this was a plant, but from the ANTZ, not BT. In fact, this is one of two new member posts in the past two days about "I never smoked but tried an ecig and now have health problems."

Of course there's no way to know for sure, and I think it's to our credit that like mare ze dotes said, we gave this poster some very good advice!

I'm definitely not a "plant". I wouldn't waste my time on this forum to make up random stories. Today, while trying to get on this site, I ran across a medical journal from this month that just studied health complaints on e-cigarette forums. (was the next link below this site on Google, just caught me eye) They found 326 negative complaints over 3 forums. Now I realize that could be due to several different factors, but I wish I didn't just read that. Not helping with the anxiety. My whole point originally was I only starting getting anxious AFTER trying the e-cigs and then noticing the shortness of breath later. I wasn't already having anxiety and then trying to attribute it to the e-cig. I know most of you love the e-cig because it got you off analogs, but there may be just as many problems with e-cigs. We don't really know yet. I wish I had never tried one, I will tell you that! :(

I would make it a priority to line up a psychiatrist, posthaste. The longer you focus on negatives of everything, the harder to recover. There are upsides and downsides to most anything, if you look for problems you will find them.

Health complaints on e-cig forums are common, most members were long time smokers. Also, 326 out of the many 1000s of members isn't so bad, IMHO.

I am seeing a psychologist in 2 days, thought I would try the "med-free" approach first for my anxiety. It's hard for me to let go of this blame I'm putting on myself, since I almost didn't even buy the thing in the first place because I was worried about side effects. Should have listened to my gut! Even though I'm like 95% sure it's probably not related, my brain can't completely ignore that 5% chance. I'm also worried it's permanent, to be honest. Going to make an appt. with pulmonologist as well.

Everybody has their own quirks, so I understand yours. I tend to count things too much. If it starts to hinder my life beyond my comfort level, I too would seek help. I hope you are able to overcome this issue.

Thanks for your kind words. There are a lot of jerks on these forums that just like to tease and belittle people. I see the psychologist tomorrow, unfortunately I have to wait 3 weeks to see the pulmonologist. I hope to God I haven't permanently damaged myself. I like your avatar, btw. Dexter is an awesome show!
