Should we go back to carto tanks?

Maybe I'm lucky, but after 2 months or more on BVC I haven't had a bad one yet. Each one has lasted at least two (some a little longer) weeks to boot!

I've seen so many bad heads around that I wonder how long is it going to be until I'm stuck with a bad batch. Because it already happened with Aspires and the BDC nautilus, is a mathematical certainty soon. I'm not rich so I try to buy as little as possible, so chances are slim.

I keep disposables on my arsenal because rebuildables fail more often than I care to think. Of course, my fault, but then I have the right to not rebuild if I don't want to. Bottom feeders are unreasonably overpriced and mechanical in nature, really, haven't evolved at all. And we continue to overpay with under performing vaping stuff. And very few people seem to care... I'm poor, I can no longer pay 30 bucks for an atty. Either start working WONDERFULLY well or I'm moving on. And no, clones are not a suitable alternative, as many times they don't work like the original or not work at all.

There are lots of us that remember "bogegate".
You can have a "bad experience" with any brand/product. It can normally be associated with a production lot.

I thought the same with Kanger. Since the Protank nothing Kanger has worked for me. And every now and again I buy something new to prove me wrong and boom! Again. Maybe it's me, my liquid or batts, but it consistently not working.

But I rarely ever have any actual money; I use plastic for everything, and I really prefer that, so that the money is in a form I can spend online. :D

My husband gripes about it because he's a coin collector, and never had any coins to look at, so if there's room in the budget, we try to allocate him a bit of cash so he has some actual currency to look at, exchange at the QuickTrip -- he gets a lot of good coins there.

My cookie jar is a CapitalOne360 savings acct, but lately it's been a ghost town in there. :tumble:

:)
I was born with a handicap, worked pretty well until my early 40 when my handicapped started kicking in. My former husband had no formal studies, just factory experience and skills. I inherited two properties (both are rented out as restorants right now) and although there isn't much to spare, I had everything I needed. Like you I have a tight budget but these past 3 years or so I had a little spare to have dinner out, or get some clothes, even I saved some!
But since my father's death in 2013, one of the tennants is a trouble maker, so we'll have to evict him. Evicting here sometimes can take as much as 5 years, as formal trials take place (all latin countries have very restrictive renting laws). So I'm living with less than half what I earned, and what's worse, no credit. And I don't want any, it's what keeps me sleeping at night. But as you can imagine, every time I need to buy something I have to dig into those little savings I need for the eviction trial anyway. And smoking here is so dirt cheap!!! Less than 1/3 what costs me to vape.

Yes I do it using a syringe to keep the carto nice and wet. I don't do it daily but it makes a big difference if you use pre punched cartos. The material at the top of the carto tends to dry some.

I use a syringe to refill my cartotank, but for the carto itself, I usually just add a few drops, if it starts looking a bit dried out -- if I add anymore than that to the carto itself, after it's already in use, it seems to leak a lot.

Yes if it looks dry I'll add a few drops, but you are right adding to much floods the carto. Who knows maybe someone will come up with BVC for carto's.

I have never replaced O-rings yet on my IBTanks. I lubricate the cartos with a drop of juice before installing into the tank.
Dont vape Pluid in one then...! Its my ADV in one of two IBTANKEDS I carry with me. The other gets changed every week or so. The Pluid will make the orings double in size after about a week! Luckily they sell silicone orings on thier website which are impervious to Pluid. Except for the little carto orings. Those things are a bugger to change every week!!

I have seven thingies and spare o-rings galore. As everyone here has said, IBtanks do not leak. I have never had to replace any o-rings either, but I also use a slap yo mama tool every single time. I also punch my own holes. Both the carto punch tool and the slap yo mama tool can be found at avidvapers.com.

If we did all that we'd all have a lot more money in our pockets, jobs, better wages, kids who actually read a book and played with friends outdoors and yes still have the dependable cartos.

There's so many great clearomizers on the market I have no idea why anyone would want to use some small carto.

Funny. I wonder why there are so many threads started daily about Nautilus and other clearo tanks flooding, bum stock coils, gurgling, burnt hits, etc. And yet there are how many carto tank problem threads? Hmmmmmm.

LOL

Do you know how much liquid a 25mm XL IBTANKED holds?

8 ml plus a ml or two that's in the carto itself.

Sent from my device.

And even my $6 Smok UDCT holds about 4.5 (comfortably) -- at least half a ml more than my kayfun holds comfortably -- if you don't leave some airspace, neither will work right.

Andria

EDI: actually I forgot to include the +1ml that's in the carto... so that makes it about 5.5ml comfortably.

Great and clearomizer should never be used in the same sentence IMO.

Mediocre and clearo? Yeah.

For a lot of us who use high VG juices, clearos suck.....all of them. And thats because they dont wick thicker juices as well as a carto tank.

Thats not subjective either, it has to do with surface area. A good carto tank has roughly 5-10 times the surface area of a clearo.

The polyfill in a carto isnt as densely packed as the string in a clearo either therefore it absorbs and holds more juice. Thats why juice seems to disappear overnight when left in a carto tank, its being absorbed while we sleep.

Its also why in side by side comparisons there is a flavor drop-off when using a clearo versus a carto tank.

They don't wick ANYTHING as well as a carto -- I use high PG juice, but just on a whim, I gave my favorite blueberry muffin/banana nut bread (that I normally vape in a cartotank) a try in one of my old T3S tanks, with a new stock coil -- I had 4 left of those coils when I got my first kayfun, so they've just been sitting in the drawer... Hits 1 and 2 were ok... hit 3 OMG I never want to taste that dry hit taste EVER again!

It's the clearo users who always complain about gurgling and dry hits. You don't hear much about carto-tanks because they simply work. So, there's not much to talk about.

Lol...so true. Count the number of "help me my clearo is..." vs....trouble with carto tank posts and you are sure to find the clearo is in the lead for support issues....

Carto tanks are low drama...Lol

Actually there is one way that cartotanks provided an excess of drama for me; before I got my UDCT, which has the locking ring, I had a regular cartotank, no locking ring... and once while trying to get it disengaged from the battery, I pulled up on the tank without realizing it... and then had about 3ml of ejuice to clean up from the battery, though I did manage to get it turned horizontal berfore the entire contents cascaded over the battery, so maybe it was only 1 or 2 ml. I know, a lot of people tell me they've never had that problem with a cartotank... I'm just that spastic! :D So for me, the way to avoid that kind of drama is the UDCT's locking ring, and I really don't find it anymore troublesome than having to remove a tiny screw from the botton of my kayfun to refill it. It gives me considerable peace of mind about not ever ending up wearing my ejuice. :D
