alright guys, ive been using my 19b for about a week and loved it so much until yesterday and now today. Bottom button started throwing off some nice sparks from it and shocking me. I wasnt going to mod it at all but this issue must be resolved. Any quick-ish fixes i can do at the shop at my work tonight to fix this? I dont even know what the cause could be but it definitely seems to be arcing between the side of the button and the housing.

i searched and found some mentions of this but no direct solutions that i could see. thanks for any help guys

Try copper wire in the switch assembly or NR wire around the spring touching the sides of the tube. Both of these modifications do the same thing and ensure a good connection to the tube body. The sparks and shock come from a poor connection.

Alas, I can't get the switch's on my 19b and 19 brass apart. I didn't want to trash the magnet, just disassemble it so I could make a good connection inside.

Any tips?

Mine is an early version and wasn't glued. I could unscrew it just by pressing my thumbs down on the switch and magnet and unscrew.

:rickroll: VAPE MAIL :rickroll:

Thanks again minimalsaint! and I'm really impressed with Vapor Tek

Now its time to get mixing/polishing/brushing/etc.

* Some initial notes:

- The threads in the brass tubes seem to be a little tighter than the stainless. The brass hybrid adapters I made don't quite fit in the brass, but I have some of the original aluminum ones I made that were a little loose in the stainless that fit well.

- The button feels softer in the polished than in the brass, but maybe I'm nuts....need to investigate

- I don't know what all the fuss is about with disassembling the buttons, mine just fell apart. (lie effing lie....those sob's are stuck like chuck)

Congrats Bap
Now I'm waiting to see how you tackle the buttons...mine is in the freezer, and I'm not too convinced it will work.

You are most welcome bap! And thanks to you!
I'm happy the tube found a good home rather than sitting in a box on my bench. After the kids go to bed tonight I'm gonna test drive that igloo!

eHuman- unfortunately the only fix I can recommend for getting the switch apart is by getting yourself a 5th of your favorite booze, drinking half, practicing up on your cuss vocabulary, slotting the magnet and hoping for the best when you try to break it loose. The second half of the booze is to help you stop screaming/crying/cussing. I tried literally everything I could think of and even picked my wife's brain for a different perspective. Hers was to buy a mod with a button that worked, but I told her there was no fun in that and she moved onto something else. I wish you luck in your endeavor- and believe me- you will feel like a world champion button man once you succeed!

Has anyone tried to slim down the switch, more specifically, the locking ring? It seems that it could be much shorter.

Not really without new different parts, they cut the threads so they don't show when it's locked as well as not leaving a bunch at the top. Some could be taken off the bottom, but then the button would stick out, etc, etc....I have looked at it and IMHO it wouldn't be worth the effort.

Here's some photos of my stock brass #19. I won't bother messing with the switch until I perfect the dual coil build on my Nimbus clone. Right now only one of the two coils fires. Also included are some of my other mods and PVs. I haven't felt good enough to take photos with my real camera in a long time. Felt good to flex the photo muscles. ;)
