rounding third and heading home...
You can pre-order the sigelei 75w TC from Gearbest for $59 using code "Sigelei75w"

When I pre-ordered my EHpro SPD a5 it arrived within 10 days from being shipped.

I'm debating pre-ordering a sigelei now, the EHPro mod itself is nice but the TC is a bit finnicky and the temp calculation doesn't seem very accurate... I can get it to function as advertised (limit my wattage more and more as cotton is getting dry) but I have to turn the temp up the entire way usually. Plus I don't know how other devices work but the EHpro uses your set temp as a target more or less, it climbs to it quickly and hovers right at it by adjusting the wattage up down as you vape.

But I don't know yet. I'm still trying to decide if TC is worth the hassle of dealing with nickel wire... It seems nice for RDAs (when I start barely getting a hit I know it's time to drip) but for RTAs I'm not sure the payoff is worth it.

Maybe I should just wait a while for all the kinks to be worked out. But the Segelei does look nice and I could always just sell it if I don't like it, and I think 75w is probably about all I'd ever need.... I like the idea and price of the ipv4 but it seems to big and bulky to me an all-dayer in my pocket at work kind of device. Ahhhh what to do what to do.

you do realize that ALL the temp control mods can function just fine as a straight VW mod- you never have to mess with the tc part if you don't want to- it seems the price is about the same as a regular vw mod so if you like the looks, features, brand, etc. why not get one and ignore the tc side? now when you want to sell it someone may want that feature even if you didn't- i always had good luck with sigelei and 75 watts is all i will ever need so this looks like a nice mod using tc or not.....

I actually bit the bullet and ordered two last night. :)

The price was nice and while I've never owned a sigelei I've heard nothing but good things -- it seems sigelei may actually have the best track record out of all the mod makers for producing quality, tested products.

It's also very nice looking and I only have devices that fire to 50w at the moment.

A side note I also picked up a used ipv4 on the bay for $50. I figure it can be a nice at-home mod, Plus the more mods I.own the less heavy duty use I'll put on each one and the longer their lifespans will be. Who knows if I'll even be able to buy this stuff by next summer, I had some extra money in my PayPal account from selling a couple comics so I put it to good use. :p

That's exactly how I justify my purchases in front of my wife.

"Honey. By the time we go back to Germany I won't be able to buy any more vapestuff. I have to stock up. Do you want me to go back to cigs?"

Works every time :D

Yup, that's how I rationalize purchases to myself and the gf as well.

By the time all is said and done were pretty loaded, though. Between the 2 of us we'll have 11 regulated mods, 8 mechanicals, I think about 21 rtas and 6 rdas. Also got a little over 1 liter of 100mg nic and plan to buy at least one more in the next couple months. The only thing I'm not that stocked up on is wire and batteries but those will always be readily available for other purposes.

But to be fair I've never spent more than $35 on an rta and those sigeleis will be the most expensive mods I've purchased so I'm pretty frugal about it.

My most expensive RTA was $30. I would go up to $40-50 if it's a good RTA.

I usually stay in the range <$50 for a mod. The only exception so far is the VS rDNA which was $118 incl. Sharkskin.
I maybe buy some other mods up to $100 because a lot of cheap mods quit on me in the past. The Sigelei 75W will be one of them.
And any TC mod with Yihi chip but the SX Mini M because I'd really love to try them. But only a single 18650 mod.

I thought the official release date was tomorrow,

The only thing that has me nervous is I've seen some people saying it's not a yihi but an in house chip... making me wonder if I shouldn't have just waited to see or held out for the ipv d2.

Any confirmation on the chip being used?

Based on the most recent pictures I've seen of it, it appears to be using the exact same chip powering the Snow Wolf 200W, which actually makes sense because that chip was developed in a partnership with Sigelei.

The display appears to be the same, although I've seen several different 75W mockups with different displays now. I believe this is the most recent released by Sigelei and matches what is currently showing on their Facebook page.

I actually like this chip a LOT. It's menu-less so there is no jumping through menu hoops to get it into temperature control or wattage mod. Simply put on your atty, the mod automatically detects it and asks if it's a new atomizer. You press up for Yes and it sends a couple of quick pulses to the atty and checks for resistance changes. If the resistance changes it puts the mod in temperature control mode, if it doesn't it puts the mod in wattage mode. You don't have to do anything, the mod does it for you. Then all you have to do is set the desired temperature and wattage range you want to run at. To switch between watts and temperature all you have to do is press the + and - buttons at the same time. And that's all there is to it. Very simple and easy to use.

And unlike the Yihi chips it doesn't rattlesnake the temperature control, so it has a more smooth power delivery like the Evolve DNA chips do. However, with the higher wattage in temperature control mode it can bring coils to their operating temperatures faster than the DNA40 chips do. And, based on the SnowWolf 200W, it seems to be very reliable and accurate. It's been in use for 2 months and I've only heard of two people who had genuine problems with production models. (Several who thought the fluctuating resistance shown on the display was a problem, but that's how the temperature control works.)

I thought the same thing looking at the promotional pics of the 75W. Then I saw this:

Which doesn't really look similar to the snow wolf. It doesn't look terrible. Hopefully their "in-house" board works well, still have one on pre-order.

Like I said, I've seen mockups and test samples with several different displays. That test unit is several weeks old at this point.

What Sigelei is currently showing on their own facebook and web page matches the Snow Wolf 200W display.

Maybe Sigelei hasn't decided which chip they're going to use, or maybe they're going to make multiple versions using different chips. Or maybe that's the same chip with a different display layout. Who knows.

How do you guys think this will compare to the SX mini? Price point aside, they are both roughly around the same power with temp control. i'm just trying to figure out how one can be $80 and the other be $200, especially considering that they are both being made by reputable companies.
Completely different boards in each mod. The board in the SX mini M class is $80 on its own, while the 75W can be had for under $80 for the mod. They are in completely different price classes so I wouldn't expect the build quality on the 75W to be as good as the M class (although honestly mine isn't the best, I think they are better now).

At the end of the day I'm sure they will both vape fine, although maybe slightly differently depending on how the board in the 75W does TC. I have a M class, and a 75W on pre-order, after I get my 75W I could post impressions in comparison to the SX M.

any word when the sigelei 75 is to be released? i haven't had time to read all the posts here or anywhere else so maybe someone here is up to date....

Well, when I preordered from vaportekusa the preordered stated the Sig 75 was to released June 20th. My order is still processing. After reading this thread I have a feeling I won't be seeing it for a long while or my bank will be canceling a charge to my CC.

One thing I have learned over the years, especially when it comes to ecig mods, is that price has nothing to do with build quality. I've seen many a $150+ piece of junk mod that was poorly built and had many flaws, and one of the best built and most reliable mods I've ever come across is a cheap little 30W box mod that I paid all of $45 for. Been using it pretty much exclusively for well over a year, dropped it numerous times, even ran over it with my car once, and the thing still works like brand new. It's a shame it's only 30W or I would continue using it exclusively for a long time to come as well, but my vaping habits have changed, I need more power.
