I think egos, twists and Vamos will be around for a while for the new wave of vapers. B&Ms can kit these for under $100. It's the mid range that I see going to higher power chips. Toppers will change with it so that below 7 watts isn't needed. I have a box full of blue foam days stuff that I won't use now and a Green Leaf kit that someone gave me. A year or two from now, if I am still vaping, who knows what my daily device will be.

These higher powered tube APVs are big. The Sigelei 30W is 18650 only and a whopping 137mm long. The V5 with 18650 is 10mm shorter and only 112mm with 18490/18500. The ability to carry a primary device comfortably in a pocket or purse will remain a high priority with most vapers. For that reason I see 20W and up tube APVs being a choice for a second rig that stays at home. That probably won't change until there are significant improvements with smaller electronics or batteries.

Then again, there is sort of this macho "bigger is better" thing going on in the vaping world right now. It's like the automotive world of the 70's: lots high horsepower in a straight line while the sports cars were running circles around them on the road.

Yup Lots of HP and now where to use it.

Straight line power like muscle cars of the 70's used to have is impressive. I can't deny that. Some may like to pursue that end but I didn't. I chose to tool around in smaller BMWs or Austin Healeys. I took to the road rather than the drag strip.

I can't help to think that the pursuit of higher wattage nicotine vaping may be something of a flash in the pan. Maybe not. Maybe there are vapers out there who want to experience nicotine at higher levels than was possible by smoking. I can't imagine why they would. My gut tells me that these high power users are more interested in high level nicotine experimentation or in substances other than nicotine. Nicotine really doesn't do anything beneficial or pleasurable at higher power levels other than requiring less puffs per hour or lower nicotine mg per ml vaped. I never could get high on nicotine. Maybe I am weird.

Vaping is headed in the direction of a general drug delivery device. It has from the beginning. This direction is steadfastly endorsed by ECF's banning of subjects regarding the vaping of psychoactive substances other than nicotine in it's vaping forums. If there is no discussion then no reasonable opposition is possible.

Hey. I tell it as I see it. If this opinion offends ECF or ECF members then kick me out. I'm OK with that.

Well, I got mine! Actually, got mines! I had the first one for a couple of days and loved everything about it so, I ordered another. Aerotanks on both with different color tanks to play with.

It took me awhile to figure out the menu but, it's become easy. I like the feel, the heft, the finish, the modest use of logos and the operation. I'm using a 2.0 Ohm coil and am perfectly satisfied with this setup.

Currently vaping Wakonda and Vapor Chef's Zero Tolerance.

Thanks for all y'all's help and advice. I've learned a lot.

I agree with you, but even without the illicit stuff/topic, I've seen the potential in vaping for use with a great many healing herbs -- thyme particularly comes to mind, because it is antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. Thyme tea was always an apothecary's best friend, it's so healthful and healing for so many different problems. Rosemary too; anytime I feel a cold start to come on, if I have any rosemary growing, I like to cut some stalks of it and put it into a pot of boiling water and inhale the fumes, it opens you right up, and it's also very healthful. Peppermint would also be great, the real plant, not some essence or flavor. To get the healing properties of peppermint, you need either the oil, which couldn't be vaped, or the plant itself, and I hear that ECF now allows mention of "leaf vaporizers".

I hesitate to mention garlic, because the thought of vaping it seems kinda awful, but it too is antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal, and it'll also keep your arteries clear. But if eating the stuff makes your breath stink, I'd have to think what inhaling the fumes of it would do. It might be altogether too powerful a substance for the lungs or mouth/nasal membranes to handle, much as onions are, when you're cutting them.

We have rosemary, thyme and chives growing. The rosemary bush is as big as a tumbleweed. I can't stand to go near the stinking thing but the wife loves it. No accounting for taste. I also have a caged tomato that is over five feet tall and has been producing since late June. Can't imagine vaping tomato e-juice.

Heh... I used to grow tomato trees myself, 6 ft tall or more. Until I discovered that I have a violent sensitivity to tomatoes, so I won't be eating those anymore. I guess rosemary is something you either love or hate, it's definitely aromatic. I like it, but yeah, that's a strong scent, and a lot of "medicinal" herbs' scents are kinda hard to take -- thyme is pretty strong too. The thyme I'm growing right now is actually lemon thyme, which makes a great herb for seasoning salmon. I bet it would be interesting to vape too!

The rosemary I tried to baby thru the winter in the garage didn't make it. :( They like it dry, but I guess even a rosemary plant needs *some* water *sometimes*.

I've been vaping a homemade peppermint for over a month. I've had fluid in my right ear for over four years and about a week after starting to vape the peppermint it has finally cleared. No short of a miracle in my book and no doubt the peppermint is responsible.

Philips head screws and drivers are weak. The more you push down on them the more likely they are to strip. Torx screws and drivers are weak: reducing the amount of metal needed to strengthen a screw head and driver. Torx is a security fitting. Manufacturers use Torx to discourage user maintenance. You have to go to the store and buy a Torx wrench and shafts to use them. Torx is like the stupid single slot fasteners you will find in restroom stalls. The ultimate Phillips-type fastener is Frearson. I learned about these working on wooden boats. Frearson screws look a little like Phillips but they don't slip out when you apply great down pressure and turning pressure on the fastener. Frearson screws have been around since at least the 1930's, like Tesla.

Well, speaking from personal experience & from observation, I much prefer US-made steel screws & engineering over a bit of Chinese adhesive..

But, to each his own...

One of the YouTubers (Dimitris or Vape Team Media?) was at a vape convention recently, and noted that the vendors' trend was going smaller, and going larger -- leaving hardly anything in the middle, in terms of PV size...

As for power, the normal range (5-15 watts) isn't going anywhere anytime soon.. But high wattage isn't a fad, either.. It's here to stay.. Don't be fooled by all the attention it gets, though.. Most people are still on their cigalikes, their eGos & their "normal" APVs...

I can see the allure of higher wattage & cloud-chasing, but something I'm not really personally interested in for a number of reasons..

DNA devices can go down to 7 watts.. But only 1 issue: It's not an accurate 7 watts at certain resistance levels, as proven via a scope.. IIRC, it's more like 9 or 10..

Obviously these people aren't vaping at 20 watts or whatever on clearos or carto-tanks, but building their coils on RBA's at lower & lower resistance...

Anyway, there's demand & room for both types/styles of vaping.. And this development was only to be expected as time went on, and the crowd & technology came on board...

What flavoring were you using? I know someone with this condition.
