It would be very interesting to see a Reincarnation of the ZMax.....a mix of the old and the new , maybe a single 18650 box in stainless steel, or a tube type with some upgrades and new lines keeping with the classic look of the Z...as much as We would salivate over a Z2 Max etc, we are a small niche in a market driven by those much different than us , at least here in the USA

And we're off and running again!

Looks like most the old crew is present, cool!

Hey faimana!
Hey everyone.

Hello JeremyR!

So it appears we need to be blaming you for starting our "Spire fantasies" then, eh?
VapieDan will be happy to hear he's off the hook! ;)

This one is pretty simple. The photo shows a Sigelei Zmax Mini with anodized red tube. It is a standard Sigelei Zmax Mini that uses a single 18350 battery. Two 18350s and a charger are included. The eBay listing mistakenly identifies the rig in the photo as a V5.

Sigelei used the "V# designation for the V1 (discontinued), The non-telescopic V2, the telescopic V3 and the telescopic V5. There was no V4 in accordance with Chinese numerology customs.

Sigelei never used the "V" designation for the 18350-only Sigelei Zmax Mini series. There were some Sigelei Zmax Minis that used tube or battery cap extensions to fit larger batteries but these units were limited to custom orders only (like some group-buy Minis).

I have never seen a Sigelei Zmax Mini with the ninth menu setting for the cell phone charger or the V5 dual line OLED firing display. Mini and V3 shared the same menu systems and firmware versions.

All of the rigs above (except V1) eventually incorporated common design improvements that included one-piece SS eGo/510 connectors, removable top caps and firmware upgrades. None of these improvements resulted in changes to the Sigelei model names.

Doh. We missed the obvious, "telescoping".
It's still a great looking kit at a good price. I'm amazed the atty matches.

All things old are new again. In the vaping industry at warp speed. I am seeing more and more tubes around. They shall return!

Holy smokes! That styling is definitely original. Yzer's "HR Giger" description seems to fit well. Yeah, I don't know why they'd call it a box mod, that's weird. However, I'm at about 8 watts and that monster only goes down to 10 watts. That's too much money for something that won't even get me down to where I'm happy. Thanks for posting the link though VapieDan. I got to see something new today.

Now that there is I what I call tasteless styling. It look like something HR Giger could have designed on a bad day. I'd rather have a Bobo than that.

I agree. I really hate the industrial tron apocolytic death star stuff and anything "mega". When is that going out of style?

Reality is I spend more on tips, wraps and charms than I do on mods and atty's so there's some gender bias on my part.

The Sigelei ZMAX V5 arrived today a day early, as expected. I was busy putting up the Christmas tree with the wife and forgot to check the mailbox until aikane1 reminded me.

Nice factory box, shrink wrapped.

Slotted top cap!

I set the defaults the way I want and fired it up. Works absolutely fine. Straight OLED screen! It is a V5.

Glad to hear everything was as expected! Mine won't be here for probably another 2 days...

No, just the standard chrome plated plastic button w/power symbol. The screen looks normal. My cell phone camera does funny things under fluorescent light, like making the OLED characters look blue. It's actually white with black background.

Regarding the stainless steel buttons on Sigelei branded ZMAX units... it's about 18 months too late to find these, unless some very rare NOS show up somewhere.

Thanks for posting those pics Yzer. That slotted top cap looks pretty beefy.

The fact that it only comes with the 10mm cap isn't an issue for me since I only use 18650 batteries. Even so, I have a few extra smaller caps from previous orders if necessary. I'm hoping the lack of a smaller cap won't be an issue for anyone else on the forum that recently ordered one from Vapor Room 909. Chances are that everyone has at least 1 spare small cap by this point.
