My 7 month old ego-T upgrade has 2 power levels, 3.3 and full battery power. The 2 Evods are 3.5-3.7-3.9-4.1. Of course being the mizer that I am I only use the lowest setting as if they were coin operated or sumthin.
I started vaping last June with an eGrip V1 20 watt with the ego-T upgrade/with Aspire BVC as backup. Finally packed the eGrip away in Dec cuz it would only go down to 8 watts. Right out of the box the eGrip's power gave me the confidence that it would get me off the nasties. The ego? Originally thought I'd wasted my money! But then with what I've learned here on ECF it has become my go to vape. The comments I kept reading about learning to 'get the most from what ya got' are what led me here. Today I feel my vape in the 650 mah is every bit the equal of my eGrip with standard coils.
I've got T3S in my wish list at FT. Been working with T3XL for 2 months now finally got the wicking down to where they don't leak until almost empty. Very fragile tanks tho. Already busted the tips off 2 of them. I Don't recommend them.
That's great you found your sweet spot and stuck to it. I keep feeling like I need to upgrade to retain compatability. I love my nautilus. The coil prices have nearly doubled + fda crap and I don't want to get caught with nothing. So the tank hunt is back on and I don't like any of them. That's also over $100 later. I feel foolish. I should have invested in a lifetime worth of coils instead.

I got my neighbor to start vaping, I was surprised at how good those evods were. I gave him an old mvp, but he liked the ego best. The form means a lot.

Don't forget FT has a 15% off code right for the next few days. There's a good chance nothing will actually ship until next month though. If you look in the "sale" tab, there's a number of ego-like batteries listed. Some with good reviews. I was just thinking today that it's a shame so many vendors are clearing them out. I never thought I'd give them up because they are so handy. I know that many new vapors prefer that style too. Even the gear marketed towards new vapers now seems to miss the mark imo.

My problem with ego's was they died, a lot, on me even paying for authentics. I had a rough start with my hardware. The zmax was the first purchase I made that lasted longer than a month. I was so frustrated.

My biggest issue with my starter Ego-C was how the voltage would taper off midway thru the battery charge (if the battery even worked). It was basically impossible for me to get a consistent vape. Very frustrating. When I bought my first Zmax, the power regulation was like 'heaven in a tube'. Yeah, it was bigger and bulkier, but it was a small price to pay for a solid vape every time. It didn't take me long to get used to the extra heft. I don't even think about it anymore, it just 'feels right' now. If I pick up one of those Ego-C's, it's like I'm holding a drinking straw. I feel like 'flicking it' out the front door. However, I guess I can understand somebody wanting a small form factor that's easy to put in a shirt pocket when the situation calls for it. I personally just won't vape for an hour or two or for however long the 'situation' ends up being, which usually isn't that long.

No offense Foggy but if I was a truck driver, I'd have my favorite Zmax in a nice holder on the dashboard, a spare Zmax between the seats to bash anyone on the head trying to steal my rig, and a few backups in the glove compartment 'just in case'.
;)

I wanna know about the $9.00. Are you selling or is that what you paid?

The cost. I thought the t3s were junk, went to Kanger pro tanks, rebuilding wicks were a pain, then found the KF V4 cloans, learning curve, but the best ever. SO, is that a Zmax v5 w/ a KF v4 in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me? :p

Every tank I've bought with silica wick has been junk 'out of the box'. Until replacing the wick. Except for my tiny mini dripper.

LOL! I keep both my Zs charged up and within reach at all times. In case all 3 of my egvods go dead at the same time. Had 2 down for charging at the same time yesterday. All my other Mods are with me at all times, in original boxes. My 26650 e-Huge/Vamo(won here) would make a great tire/head thumper. Then there's the eGrip, Cloupor Mini+(won here), and Koopor plus(won here)(Koopor still has the plastic wrap on the box). Even my Ehpro Squape tank(won with the e-Huge) is in the cabinet with all the rest..

I luv it. Your like me in that I run into people all the time trying to get me into building my own coils and higher powered gear as if I'm afraid or don't know any better. Then I list what I have at home that I'm not using "cause I like where I'm at just fine. It's reliable, dependable, no fuss, no brainer, keeps me from smoking, minimal time, and I'm not guzzling juice or setting off smoke alarms. "Big huge vapor" as the Chinese say does bug me quite a bit. I keep empty mega cups to exhale into at times. I hate the way vg sticks to windows and fan blades. That's a big reason I'm mtl since I hold vapor in to diminsh the cloud to some extent.

I remember having a handful of egos just to make sure there was always one ready to vape and even then, there were still "oops". When I started another friend, I gave her 6 or 7 batteries in a kit. She wondered why so many, "you'll find out". I will say the istick made that MUCH easier.

I hated all the attys until the air flow control base came out for the protank2. I could still vape pt2 with afc. That's what surprised me so about the evods. I got the glass evods that take dual coils and whaddya know, Kanger's been improving them without anyone watching. I won't get into it beyond the new tank and coils aren't like they used to be. FT doesn't cover the older Kanger line very well. Vape Super Saver does a better job and he'll do bulk such that I could beat FT's $. The owner used to work at Kanger.

It really is amazing how vaping has changed. Sigelei is foolish for scraping the zmax. Everything comes around again. Meanwhile I wouldn't mind finding more new old stock of z's.

I think the Zmax body form died because of cost. The tube mod is more expensive to build than a box mod. Also the materials for a heavy stainless body cost more as well. A darn shame.

Vaping is more of a hobby for me than a smoking substitute, next month will be 9 years since my last cig. I got into it as a way to get my wife to quit, then it was getting things to work properly to keep her off of cigs. So there was a progression with equipment and juice. The zmax v5 fits our needs. The Kayfun v4 is an easy way for us to enjoy vaping, single coil 1.6ohm with rayon. Then came the flavoring to do diy juice, actually finding something that works for her. A lot of what is sold should go to 7/11 for flavoring slurpies. High sugar coil caking wick fouling stuff. The European fruit flavors sold by Vapers Tek(Inawera) hit a home run to make vaping even more enjoyable and less labor intense. Rewicking once a week instead of every other day. Very kool. So, mod, tank, juice, the whole package. We also only use 3 mg nicotine in my mixing, I don't even know why I bother adding it. Just my 2 cents.

It looks like you finally got your hands on a Spire Dan! Congrats! I know you wanted one pretty bad. Is that a gun metal finish?

I'm assuming the tube isn't as sloppy as what I reported on the one I received? Hopefully not. Have you decided yet whether you're going to upgrade the board to a V5 or leave it as-is?

Yep I really like it. It is Gunmetal There is no play in the tube. In fact that is the big difference from the Sigelei is the superior fit and finish. I was thinking about the V5 chip. I wish something would have come with those chips from Yihi.

Nice Spire, Dan. From the photo it seems to have the SS button like I have on my V5. The SS button on my V5 also had light brush marks in one direction. After nearly two years of use all day, every day those brush marks have worn away and the button is now polished SS.

It is indeed a metal button. It gives a more positive feel when in use. Does not really mean anything but it is a nice touch.

I checked some others.

You are correct about the button finish. Ever so slight brush marks. Not really noticeable and I can see why they would disappear with use.

WOW DAN!!! You got one.........or more than ONE?......I have one in Gunmetal and have to say that its Night and Day compared to the V5, its almost like a Custom Made V5...The finish is amazing, and the Threads are smoother than a provari by far.......Its What Sigelei Should Have Done in a Limited Edition..........i only have one and any Tube Mod Addict needs at least 2 of their favorite mods( so he can keep one in the box...so when he dies his family throws it out) and one to use..........let us know here first if you ever decide to part with one ( assuming they are yours in the pic)
