Hi. sorry to jump into your thread, but this like the place to ask..
Hey welcome to the ZMax gang @Swampus glad to have ya here.
So is this worth buying sigelei Zmax V3 for 9.95?
Absolutely one of the forum members here suggested them to me a couple months ago and I snatched one up. As soon as got my hands on it I decided I'd better order another before they disappear. Really nice solid mod.

I only been vaping about 2 months and I got nautilus mini that I use 1.6 and 1.8 ohm coils. but I want to find a rta, so I can at least change the wicks and would build around 1.5 +/- ohm.

RTA? Sounds to me like your main interest is in getting rid of the expense of replaceable coils? Am I right? Have you considered Evod tanks or Kanger T3S tanks? Both basically the same except the T3S hold more juice. In my opinion they jest ain't nuthin easier to rebuild than the atties in these tanks. Several of the gang here are fans of the T3S. Also easy to modify them for a better vape experience if you like. You can get a 5 pack of Evod tanks from fasttech for something like $10. A 5 pack of authentic T3S I think runs about $16. Single Evod tank $2 single T3S something like $3.16.

Just trying to steer a fellow newbie in (what i believe is) the right direction. As others have done for me. I've been vaping since last June. Been thru several higher power mods but I've locked in on my cost efficient Evods and that's where I plan to stay. Got my ZMaxes as backups o in case of vapocolypse.

Thank you @Foggy Road
I have never considered either of the evods or t3s, but I will check them out. I started with the halo triton kit and it wasn't enough so I got ipv d2 and the mini nautilus.
I gotta get something I can change the wicks out cause I can taste it soon as it tries to burn..IDK just me I guess, my better half doesn't taste it.
I got 2 Zmax on order, but he was sold out of the KFL+v2 (whatevers) so the hunt is still on.
Thanks again

Welcome Swamp , you'll find sound advice here , unfortunately vaping is not quite plug and play yet , it will take a little experimentation until you find your sweet spot, but it's worth it. I've been doing this a long time and I still get frustrated at times so not to worry.....where cigarettes are light them and burn them, vaping is a bit of a learning curve considering were dealing with electronics, liquids , and delivery devices. ...things will break , malfunction, wear out , or just plain tic you off ......backups are mandatory:)

Thanks @BackDoc
Honestly I had no idea how much was involved.

There is a lot of information here. I would suggest going back to page one and at least skimming though the entire thread. Everything you need to know is here. If not ask!

Welcome to the forum Swamp. If you're thinking about a KFL style tank, I've been using them on my Zmax for about 2 years now and I really dig them. They are easy to rebuild and quite flavorful. I've been happy staying at around 2.5 ohms on my Kayfun 3.1 but of course everyone has their own preference. With my build, I put 5 wraps of 32 gauge Kanthal wire around a 7/64 drill bit. I make my wick from organic cotton balls (I have a big bag of those that I'll unfortunately have to store for at least another 30 years). Everyone raves about the Japanese cotton strips, but I haven't had any luck with it on my build. It doesn't seem to wick fast enough for me no matter how I use it and I get a burnt flavor. At any rate, if you ever have any questions or concerns with the Zmax, please don't hesitate to share them. The folks on this thread are always happy to help out.

Thanks @fairmana
I hoping the Zmax is going to be what I'm looking for..I'm doing this to keep me and my better half off the stinky's..
The KF"s looks like it may be a good starting point or something similar.
I am not sure where my sweet spot is yet..be it 1.5 or 2.5..still in that learning curve..
I'm gonna try different kinds of cotton and maybe rayon.. need to find a pack of samples..
Ordered some 28 and 30g kanthal..should give me enough choices.

You will find the resistance settings will vary with different liquids.

Welcome. For me, the Zmax and Nautilus were made for each other. I feel like a loner in that the idea of messing with coils is something I dread. I have several tanks for back up but if it's not convenient, I risk going back to no fuss stinkies.

I hear ya on the $ of coils. There is a V2 rba coming out for the nautilus someday. A lot of folks are waiting for it. Until then, I've been hunting around and the Eleaf GS Air M or MS is a good replacement. The coils are only in 1.5, nice and simple plus they are easy to rebuild. The GS tanks are much cheaper than the Nautilus too. They can be hard to find. Sweet Vapes usually stays in stock.

There's a lot of different ways to go. It's whatever works. Glad you found the Zmax. I think Sigelei should continue making them.

Vape mail day :) Got my 2 Zmax's today and I must say I am really impressed with them, very good quality feel to them. Little learning curve with the menu, but than good to go. I wish I found these before I bought my D2.

That's great. Just curious... What size ya running them in? 18350? 18650? I like them short and not telescoped.

@Foggy Road .. Thanks and I have them in the 18650 mode, as it is all the batteries I have. I did like the look when it was shorter.

If I may ask, Is there a lot of noticeable difference in vape time with the 18350's? (under regular vaping and understanding this is situational)

I need to order some more batteries and was thinking the 350's or maybe the 500's (but those would tele. it some).
