When I started back up vaping in October, I bought 4 spinners within a month. I saw the telescope but thought it really looked strange and wondered who would waste their money on one. But then I started reading this thread and bought a couple back V3's in Nov/Dec - 1 Flat and 1 Round. Just bought a 3rd - Round top just cuz it looks like a rocket ship with the PT2 mini's or mini Davides sitting on top. So, now I have 2 at home going almost constantly and the 3rd is for the car, maybe. I figure I can get 2 more for the price of a Provari and I don't have to switch out tanks as often.

I had the same thoughts…it works great and I'd have to go through several of them to justify spending $$ on a high end mod. I got the rocket ship this time too. Would like to have had one in black but it wasn't available which is a shame because now it'll probably have to be #3 when it is back in stock! Must…stop…spending!!!

Just could not wait to come back and say how happy I am with my V5. I will report more after a full week. For now yzer asked about the USB charger so here is what I know. It works! You just set menu item # 9 to mobile out “on” or “off”. Then a one press of the button reports “Warning! No smoking! Strange, I do not think of it as smoking. A second press and hold gets the same but then reports the pictured “Battery display” which goes away after another few seconds. My old Fluke says it is 1.03 amps @ 6.16v how can that be with the battery reading @ 3.67v. Must be magic or just not under a load?!? I do not think I would carry it with me on any trips but out in the woods, who knows.

Got my Sigelei zmax v3 today. Overall I'm pretty impressed. The threads are much better than I thought they would be.

I read the part about over adjusting the tube and I'm glad I did, I would have just racked that bad boy on there. Feels nice and solid and gives a nice vape.

I bought it as a backup for my MVP2's because I wanted something that uses user replaceable batteries.

I got my Kayfun clone in vape mail today too. Lots of playing around to do today.

Have three Sigeleis with an OLED screen and V/W that work perfectly for less than the cost of one Provari.

Sorry I have always been happy!

I recently bought a "Kayfun lite plus" clone myself since I figured it would be easier to rebuild the coils in that than rebuilding the Protank type atomizers like I've been doing. It's made by Tobeco, which prior research seemed to show was a good clone and I wasn't disappointed. I bought it on Ebay for about $35 (the original is around $100). I'm happy with it, but still playing with different coils/ohms with regular silica wick. The flavor is better than anything I've ever tried. Next I'm going to start playing with micro-coils and organic cotton wicks and see where that leads.

Sorry if a bit off topic...

I was going to order a black flat top for my 2nd but read a few places that it's just a lacquer finish and tends to scratch more easily that the stainless so that's why I got the round top. The flat top looks better with the bigger tanks I like my rocket ship so I decided #3 would be the round top with 18350 batteries. It's about 1" shorter but that makes a difference when carrying in my pocket.

Also, as for tightening, I tighten until the Sigelei light comes on then another 1 1/2 turns and it seems to work just fine. Keeps me from overtightening and stressing both the spring and innards.

Does the top cap on the V3 unscrew like it does on the V5?? (except the black version is all one piece)
The top cap on V3 is removable just like the V5 on all V3s made since late last summer. There are other upgrades to V3 that come with the removable top cap including the one-piece stainless steel 510/eGo threading and new firmware. If the Sigelei Zmax is not telescopic it is a Mini or a V2. Both are still in production.

Here is how to tell the difference. The new production V3 (and V5) have a steel flange visible between the main body and the top cap. My new V3 purchased in November 2013 is shown on top. My first generation V3 purchased in April 2013 is on the bottom. The screen on that one was slightly crooked from day one. New V3s and V5s made since last fall also have the Sigelei logo laser etched on the tube below the fire button and may have CE etched on the battery cap. The very latest V3s and V5s have metal fire buttons. My new production V3 was made just before the laser etched logos came out.

V3/V5 Telescope vs. Sig Zmax Mini

Thoughts on how they compare? GO!
The Sigelei Zmax Mini is 18350 only. Sigelei doers not make extension caps or tubes to allow use of any other battery with the Mini. The Sigelei Zmax Telescopic V3/V5 uses 18350, 18490, 18500, 18650 and 2x18350. The V3/V5 is the same length (100mm) with 18350 as the Mini.

Yes, other than battery versatility they seem to be much the same. The Mini may be lighter and a little more narrow than V3/V5 because the telescopics have heavy dual thickness SS tubes. I think the Mini may be 22mm in diameter while the telescopics are 23mm in diameter. The latest photos I've seen of the Mini show a removable top cap. There is no reason to own a Mini if you have have a V3 or V5. I've seen V3 and V5 priced substantially lower than Mini, probably because they sell a lot more V3/V5 than Mini.
Is the Telescope the same as the Mini Zmax other then the telescoping feature? I was thinking about getting both but may not need to if they are the same...I own an EVIC and want something more portable and smaller to carry day-to-day and travel. Narrowed it down to these two!
