Right away if possible.. Or soon, but you may get some slight misfiring till you get it.
My banner got wiped too, so I had to get this one... Luckily I don't forget the date I got my Starter kit and my last cig.

Last one on the way to work July 18 2011. Don't know why I can even remember the puff and tossing it because it tasted horrible! Where was the Zmax when I needed it?

Did you start vaping exclusively at that time or later? For me I put cigs down when I picked up the vapor... Egos are still here and so will 15w chips, the price will come down slightly naturally, I predict it will bottom out around 35.00.

Thanks Yzer I have been watching them for a few days. Got an order in for a V5 flat top. My V3 is dying a slow painful death.

Hey vapie you said your zmax is on the way to the grave. Are you willing to fix it or is it not worth it to you... If needed My offer still stands for anyone that would like their zmax worked on. The last one I had sent to me only cost like 1.89 shipping usps.

Took me three months of using both. Early, poor, cig-a-likes and too low of nicotine (6-8mg). Just no information around especially locally at that time. I think everyone thought it was a passing fad or a supplement to use in non smoking areas. Who thought the devices would improve so fast?

I am convinced it is the board. It is erratic. Get warm to the touch. Battery drain is twice that of normal. As the battery gets lower you get the lock up with the Sigelei version info. I doubt it is worth it. Your suggestions?

I really don't think its the board going bad itself. But the shifting of the board could definitely be the cause. The internal ground wire gets pinched when the board slides forward. When I opened mine the board was pressed right into the solder point of the ground.

As the battery runs down it sounds like possibly you run out of sufficient power to complete the arc to a loose ground contact somewhere. (I'm assuming you have cleaned the threads and noalox'd)

*Where does it get the warmest first?? That's the big question I have. You should notice one spot heats first and is the hottest, this is at the source of the poor contact.

An internal Short can cause the battery to run down fast and heat up.

My first break down and repair starts at post 816. My problems started at post 721

I would have to say it heats up first in he mid section between the larger upper half and adjustable lower sleeve. If you continue using it the heat spreads.

VapieDan,
If you're using Noalox, it's probably time to clean off the old Noalox and re-apply it on the threads. If you're not using Noalox, you likely have high resistance in the threads causing that heat. Just my 2-cents...

In any case, I really hope you get it resolved.

I thought the Noalox was to keep the threads clean? Sitting here with a baffled look on my face trying to figure out what the threads have to do with firing...?

I was mainly wondering because although we seem to have a bit of a surplus of funds right now, at the end of this month that won't be true, so if I'm going to need it right away or quite soon, figured I'd go on and get it when I make the battery order -- or, I wonder if it can be found locally in any stores? -- the shipping on it is just robbery! Home Depot, Lowes? Or I suppose it's possible that SteamCigs may carry it, since they kinda specialize in mods; usually ePipeMods, but I guess those would need Noalox too, wouldn't they?

Thx!
Andria

Ok I changed my banner again, I think I like the reddit one better, it lets you add that line at the top... and it's just slightly more accurate (not as accurate as Ms T's, but oh well).

Andria

EDIT: HOT DOG! I found a much smaller size of Noalox at Lowes, for just $3.27! That beats heck out of $8odd plus $10-odd shipping!

Clean threads and noalox them. You have a bad ground at the tube threads. 100% evident by the heat starting there, the stainless slowly absorbs the heat through the whole mod. If you start from cold you can feel the exact spot that's resisting ground. I've also used a foil strip around the threads for quite some time until I got noalox. (Do not get foil in the tube it can short the battery)

Adrian- the threads complete the circuit from the ground of the battery up to the circuit board. It's a critical part of the mod. Noalox stabilizes the grounding and improves the electrical contact. It is absolutely necessary for reliable performance.

Ok, I'm just so ignorant of all this stuff, no way I could have figured that out alone, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH! for explaining. :thumb:

Now that I've found this stuff nearby for a really good price, my next question is, how do you apply/use it? A brush of some kind? Seems like the best way to get into the threads. I'm guessing that too much would be a bad thing? I was going to go and see if there was anything about it in the maintenance forum, but that's a huge place, no guarantee I would have found it.

Thx much!!!

Don't use a lot of Noalox. Use it on the telescopic tube threads and the battery cap threads. You don't want it on the 510/ego threads and you don't need it on the removable top cap threads (the top cap is not part the B- circuit). I put a little Noalox on the threads of both pieces that screw together using a Q-tip or fingertip. How much Noalox to use is impossible to describe. Try putting a little on at first. Thread the pieces back and forth fully a few times to distribute the Noalox evenly. If you haven't applied enough Noalox to leave a thin and even coat on all of the threads then try a little more. Wipe off any excess that isn't on the threads, don't get Noalox into your eyes and wash hands after use.

Noalox collects dust and will eventually begin to dry out and stiffen. I clean it off with a soft cloth dampened in alcohol every couple of months and replace the Noalox. Living out west in a dusty area I need to do this more often than others.

I ave thoroughly cleaned the threads. Have Noalox on the way. Will try it.

If you have a Home Depot nearby you can find Noalox there in the electrical department. It was used to prevent oxidation at wiring junctions in aluminum home wiring. Many home improvement and hardware stores still stock it. Desert Vapes has Noalox in stock.

Noalox at Desert Vapes

You are a mind reader. Just ordered a V5 and added a tube of Noalox from Desert Vapes.

I'm so excited! It already departed the Phoenix sort facility! So the ol man said that tomorrow's work can go ahead and let me order the batteries and charger!

:D :D :D

Oh that looks like FUN! What's it called? The bottom reminds me of aspire with just a little bling.

I ordered a Rocket clone for the rainbow. The guys at one of the shops here are going to help me build, when I'm ready. Don't have any interest in dripping but building a coil and using as a tank set up, has me excited.

Well, I did look online first at Home Depot, because we have one right here in Lawrenceville, but all that came up when I searched for Noalox was some other product that seems much the same, but didn't say exactly the same things as what I read in the Noalox description on Amazon, so I went to the Lowes website, searched for Noalox, and up it jumped right away. Lowes is within 10 miles, so that's certainly doable; we always play them and Home Depot off the other on prices of house stuff. :D

All the online prices I've seen were much higher than the $3.27 at Lowes; obviously I don't need a huge amount of it, so there's no reason to buy 4oz when 1/2 oz in a tube is plenty, and should last me a while.

It's a Hypertank 2... uses the "universal" (protank) bottom coils, the same ones as my Mini PT II; I also just ordered some 2.5Ω coils from discount Vapers, and will use the 1.8 nd 2.2 coils that come with the Hypertank for the Mini -- want to always use higher ohm coils for this big mod/tank setup, to save battery life. I don't worry bout that with the vv3, since it's on pass-thru 90% of the time.

And I just don't believe this, but the Sig and the tank have already gotten to and "processed through" the Atlanta sort facility! That's freaking amazing, but does me no good, till the batteries get here. :( I ordered them this evening, from Amazon, so they won't be here till probably the end of the week. :grr: I know the coils from discount vapers will be here in a couple days, their shipping has some kind of mojo or something. Apparently Desert Vapes' does too! :D

Anyway we can get over to Lowes probably Wednesday evening, get the Noalox, and I can have that part done. How long do the 18650s and 18350s take to charge, in a nitecore i4?
