I'm not sure if any of them "operate". They just provide poorly.
That's a fact. Actually, my current ISP is a small local outfit I signed up with during the mid-90's. That was the dial-up days. I get ADSL from them now. I live 13K feet from the central office so I need good phone lines for decent ADSL. I've had trouble with download speeds falling several times during the years. When that happened the ISP called AT&T (who own all of the phone lines around here) and they rolled a truck, the tech fiddled with underground connections in the neighborhood and the speed went back up again. Now, AT&T is getting out of the ADSL business to push their U-Verse service. AT&T won't do work on their ADSL connections anymore and I'm stuck with rapidly failing bandwidth.

I won't touch Comcast with 10-foot pole. So, I have little choice but to sign on with a AT&T U-verse internet only deal. U-verse runs on a different system than ADSL and I need to buy their modem to use it. The U-verse connection is fiber-optic to the neighborhood and runs the last 5K feet on copper. AT&T will maintain their lines for U-verse. I'll disconnect my land line phone and end up getting better speed for a little less per month.

Yzer .. I work for an ISP, technically two.. just saw your post. That should be a lot better! I work with att as a collocate for our company as well.

Vapiedan I'm glad you brought your v3 back from what you thought was an early grave - with just noalox. Crazy isn't it!
Thanks. That makes me feel better about this deal. Internet is still mostly a black magic thing for me, I really don't understand much about it.

I'm so excited for you to get the rainbow!:toast:

You must have ordered from KP too! They're super fast! I can't believe it's here already, in NY!

I haven't fired her up yet. Waiting on dh to do a lube job, when he gets home. A big plus for me is the button and screen, on the same side. The button has a nice click sound and it feels really nice in my hand.

Yea, I ordered from KP. I really shouldn't have spent the money! I justified it by telling myself that 1) It may or may not be produced much longer 2) My birthday is May 10th and 3) Mother's day is May 11th lol. I actually did not think that Noalox thing was a big deal, I thought everyone was crazy for making such a big deal about it, but then I got some and lubed up all my mods and it's wonderful, the threads are smooth as butter! That's good, I really like my Sigeleis (the Rainbow will be #4 for me), they are great mods for sure.

Oh yeah yzer it should be about 10 times better. You 'Should' be able to get 20mg downloads easy.

MrsP your getting another one... That rainbow does look pretty nice. May be one of the best finishes on a Chinese mod ever. Interested to see how it wears over time, preferably not at All.

I went with the 6.0Mbps service which should give me at least 3.1 Mbps down. That's all we need. I haven't paid for TV since I cut DirecTV satellite. I have a switchable antenna array in the attic that gives us all the HD broadcast channels from both Sacramento and San Francisco. Once the daughter went to college we didn't want pay TV channels anymore. The biggest demand I make on the internet is for Netflix. I could stream a movie on one machine in near DVD definition with 1.3Mbps down. I only get .77Mbps right now which is just barely low standard definition from Netflix.

I have a love/hate relationship with Comcast. We finally got out of a 2 yr contract with DirecTV, FINALLY, and thought we'd just get all our stuff from Comcast, since I was already getting internet and phone from them. Their customer svc sucks a big one, some of our TVs won't get the "higher" channels without doing that old "vertical roll", and sometimes for no reason I can ever discern, I lose my internet connection -- completely, even the phone. So I have to shut down the PC, the internet/telephony modem, and my router, wait a few minutes and then reconnect and start it all back up. So I pretty much hate them, but I hate AT&T worse, and I do love 25 megabits; since I do web development, I need fast upload speed, and you only get upload speed as about 1/4 of your download speed, so you have to have monster download speed.

But I think we may sign up for Dish Network soon for the TV, because comcast really does suck. I'll still have them for internet, but will probably go back to the VOIP service I used before (not Vonage) for phone.

I had dish for two years before I had gotten divorced. BEST thing I ever did.. Pic quality compared to cablevision was stellar. I had used both on a sweet samsung 55" lcd, and can honestrly say dish was better by far. I think you'll like it better than direct tv..

Still onthe hunt for a nice home use mod. Almost grabbed a zmax mini kit for 80, but couldn't pull the trigger. Felt small n flimsy in my hands. They had a vamo v5 with one battery for the same price. I liked it, but I'm waiting to see a v3 before I decide..

Check out the V3 or V5. Because of the dual thickness telescopic tube the rig is much heavier than the Sigelei Zmax Mini although they are exactly the same length with 18350 as the mini. You can use any of the 18xxx batteries with V3 or V5.

This is the best deal I've seen from a US vendor on the brushed stainless steel V3 and V5: $39.95 and $46.95 respectively with a 30-day vendor warranty.

Desert Vapes: Sigelei V3

Desert Vapes: Sigelei V5

Varitube
is another popular vendor. They offer a 90-day vendor waranty.

The latest V3/V5 buzz on this thread is about the heat-treated stainless steel rainbow V5s available from a number of other vendors. Some people have bought these with coupon discounts.

This Sigelei v3 I just got is just stupendous. I love the weight and solidity of it, and it really is a powerhouse; I get more vapor at 8w on this than I got on the vv3 at 10w.

When I first got it and was fooling around with it, I was a little worried about how it would feel, when telescoped outward; with no battery in it, it's very loose and rattly, but once you put the battery in, it's solid, no rattle whatever. Of course I haven't used it yet with a 18350, the 18350s I ordered for some reason got shipped due east of St Louis, to W Virginia, instead of SE to Atlanta. Moronic USPS. so I have no idea when they'll get here; at this rate, I may have the 2nd pair I ordered 2 days later before I have the first pair.

My Directv contract is nearly up and I'm thinking of Roku. Vape Team live is broadcasting there now. It is free and you can add Hulu and Netflix for about $10 month each. Anyone using it?

Ok experts I need help please:)

Started playing with my new toy this morning.

Took her apart and gave a good cleaning. She was really clean. Lubed all threads with Noalax.

Tanks are not sitting flat on her. :( The part where the tank screws in, is up too high. Can this be adjusted?

The 510 thread shaft usually sits a little higher than the outside upper rim of the mod. It's manufactured that way so there will be air flow to the bottom of the tank.

Does your upper collar unscrew? If so, you can put the tank on and then unscrew the upper collar a few turns until it meets the bottom of the tank. Just realize that if you do that and your tank needs airflow from the bottom, you might restrict it for a harder pull.

A while back I bought a couple "Tank Airflow Controllers" ($3.00 each) that work well to fill the gap as well as allow you to adjust your air flow. It looks good and works pretty well. I still use it under my Protank II. It does make the overall length slightly longer though, but if that's not a major concern, then it might be a good solution for you. Another "pro" to using the controller is that I extend the life of my 510 threads and hopefully damage it instead of my mod if I drop the device.

OK, I need to correct myself on my last post. The airflow controller still allows there to be a slight gap. I remember now that I bought it to deal with the larger gap that my old Viva Nova had on top since it's 510 threaded shaft was somewhat longer. Sorry for the confusion on my part.

The issue is going to be the difference in height between the mod's 510 threaded shaft and the height of the outer upper edge of the mod. Maybe a thin washer can be used to fill it, but it would need to be a specific outer diameter to match the mod's width. You'd also want there to be a hole in the middle of the washer that was very close the diameter of the 510 threaded shaft so that the washer wouldn't move around under the tank. Something else to consider is that if the washer is too thick, it may not allow the center pin on the tank to make contact with the positive pin inside the 510 connector.

@ Purplepeeps:
It looks like the length of the tank's 510 shaft is what is keeping it from threading down further since the tank is bottoming out on the mod's center pin sooner. I'm assuming you've screwed it down only until it's snug so you don't damage your mod's center pin. If that's the case, then I would guess that it's the tank's fault. I wouldn't guess that the mod is to blame. Different tanks may vary on how much gap they allow (had a similar gap with a Viva Nova). The air flow controller I mentioned in my post above (#2011) will probably allow you to reduce your gap down to the minimum gap possible. As I mentioned above, that minimum gap will be the difference in height between the top of the mod's 510 connector and the upper edge of the mod. On my V3, that minimum gap is about 1mm, which isn't very much. I can't say if that will vary between other V3's and V5's that are out there.

@ N00dl3s:
My PT2 lets me screw it all the way down until the tank meets the top of my V3's 510 connector. If your PT2 lets you do the same thing, then your gap should be the minimum possible (~1mm ?).
