Other than another v5 for back up, and batteries, nope.

Mine still has the original switch in it.. i think most the issue is from the cradle sliding forward causing the botton to go out of alignment. never tighten the tube more than needed for good contact. ..

unfortunately mine just finally died the other day. Close to 3 years old...

I had some shotty build on it that shorted i think and the protection circuit went open and stuck.. opened it up but haven't gone too deep yet.

Thanks! That's good to know about not tightening it too much. I think I may have been. I'll be more careful.

Just tight enough to keep the battery from rattling, overtightening or cranking it down will kill it.

If the button starts acting up it may have loosened already... Usually what will do it; is if it's dropped top down, the batteries jolt will force the circuit card loose. I always used flat top batteries as they will minimize the extent the batteries can push on the card.

Thanks guys! I appreciate all your help. :D

I have officially swapped out my kbox mini for the zmax. The kbox is going to be lonely in my vapepocalypse box.

I'm getting another one and the v5 this weekend. And if they still have them next month I'm getting more. :thumb:

Welcome to your new addiction.
I couldn't help but chuckle at the idea of warehousing a kbox for a zmax.

This may sound rude but my first thought was "oh goody, another DIY story coming". Seriously, sorry for your loss, but I hope you remember to take pics or make a vid. Maybe I need more of a life, but that kinda stuff floats my boat, even if I don't have a REAL boat ...

Humm... ok it appears that my one SS telescopic is a V5. My new V3 and old "mini" have the same menu system.

Last night I wound up 16 wraps of SS430 on 2.5mm for a 1.4-1.6ohm coil in a WTF Nautilus v1 RBA for my Sigelei tub mods. Driven by 4V it vapes nicely.

It seems that my vaping has come almost full circle. Before me is a Nautilus mini and full size, a K1 and a lone Griffin mounted on a Cuboid. The K1 and Nautilus's I consider "low power, low output" devices.

Got my v5 today from madvapes. Awesome deal for $14.99. Two end caps but no usb charger which I didn't want anyway.

I just have a question, what do you guys do if you have a gap?

I usually don't have a gap. That's a big one. Can you twist the center pin in on you subtank? They also sell heat sinks which take care of minor gaps. I don't know about one that large. One of the "tinkerers" will give an answer soon.

i just screw the collar up to the bottom of the tank. If that does not work a 'heat sink' with a shortened center pin works.

That is my solution as well. In this way the tank has more support not placing as much strain on the 510 connector.

    Good point.

Sigelei made a vented top cap that cures the "gap" problem in many instances. The top of the 510 connector is level with the top of this vented cap and the vented cuts are below 510 top level.

Don't expect e-cig vendors to be able to communicate information that is accurate enough to describe this stock Sigelei part. Most e-cig online store vendors are knuckle-dragging ...... that never completed high school. They are quite happy to run whatever HTML pages they can rip off for free on the internet for use on their online store sites.

Most online e-cig vendors can't provide accurate descriptions of their product. This is evident most recently in the Sigelei V5 sold by Madvapes. It's a nice Sigelei V5 for the price but it doesn't include the cell phone charger (as described) or the vented top cap and includes both battery caps and laser logos (as not described).

Photo below from the Vapor Room 909 Sigelei V5 I purchased in December of 2015. The web site page made no mention of the slotted top cap.
