Hi guys - I am new to vaping and have not purchased my first upgrade yet. Doing a ton of research by reading the forums and watching YouTube reviews.

I am still formulating and refining my plan for my first upgrade/real setup purchase. At first I was going to cheap out and get Spinner or Winder batteries with a Kanger Protank (I want real glass) or Protank Mini... I liked the slim look of this approach. But the more I read, the more I realized it made no sense to buy $20 VV batteries when I can spend about $50 or $60 and get a fine instrument with complete control, higher voltage, and cheaper batteries to buy down the line (save money in the long run and have a better mod).

So I started looking into the various options, and I think I have narrowed it down to the Sigelei Zmax V3 versus the Provari. I understand that Provari is the Lamborghini of the lot, but I'm reading so many great things about the Sigelei Zmax V3, and it is cheaper.

Which one is truly the way to go? Is it worth spending more to get the Provari? I'd rather shell out the cash now and have the best... but I'm not convinced that the Provari is truly better. Need your expert input.

Thanks! :) :vapor::toast:

I have both. Honestly, the Sigelei is a really nice unit. But, the Provari is a superb unit. It is built more solid and has better electronics inside. The Provari provides a more stable voltage. It doesn't cycle as slowly as the Sigelei and make that "rattlesnake" sound. Which makes it produce a better vape in my opinion. That being said, the Seigelei is a fine device and does work quite well. The question is, how good of an experience do you want? I use my Sigelei for taking out and about. It was a lot cheaper so if I scratch or break it I won't be too upset. My Provari stays safe at home. When I'm at home I rarely use my Sigelei because the Provari just tastes better TO ME. But I do like them both.
I too decided to "shell out the cash now and get the best". So I bought a Provari, a decision I will never regret. Not that it couldn't take it, but at that kinda money, having something cheaper to subject to the abuse of daily life was I good idea to me. I have no doubt that my Provari will outlast many Sigeleis. It's just built better.

You get what you pay for.

Sigelei is a 33.3hz mod - see this thread; http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ic-flat-top-other-reports-one-week-later.html

Some folks don't mind unfiltered 33.3hz PWM, some folks hate it.
Time will only tell how reliable the Sig is, been a few problems so far but nothing insurmountable.

Provari is made from military spec components and is super reliable (time told already) any components that can be sourced domestically, are. Output is flat and clean which provides a smoother vape (in my opinion) if you buy a Provari it'll last, guaranteed for a year and very cheap to have repaired by Provape if it does break.

The cheaper mods are a false economy in my opinion, they don't last as long - and the Provari is a cosmically good vape.

I have several VV mods. My experience with all of them is pretty much the same. I push the button and I take a vape. I don't think one gives me a better vape than another. With that said, I do like my provari mini best. It is the most pocketable (it's tiny) and I like the way the button feels.

Basically what it comes down to is reliability in the long run. If you don't mind buying a new mod 3-12 months down the road then get a Zmax. If you want something that will stand the test of time get a Provari.

Oh, one more thing, if it does happen to break after the one year warranty is up, Provape will still repair it. I think it's about $40. If your Zmax dies on you there is nothing you can do but through it in the trash.
