Hey y'all. I have a Eleaf Pico/Melo III starter set up that is wearing out. The USB port is breaking and the tank is often so hard to open I have to use pliers. I'm looking but getting tired of Out of Stock or Ridiculously high $$ for uber fancy coils. Please help however you can. I'm so overwhelmed, it's like car shopping.

- Mod, simple. I only use Wattage mode.. 25W & a 0.4ohm coil.
- 1 or 2 battery set up fine. Prefer a box shape over a stick.

- tank, flip top to fill or other Easy set up. Not unscrew off.
- Coils, affordable in bulk... I'm using Triton coils in the Melo III now for about $17 for a 5 pack.
- tank hold 4-5ml. would be ideal.

My local stores sell mostly Alien/Beast and maybe Aspire, Eleaf.. So I'm trying to stick with brands options so I can get a replacement glass or coil easily if needed. Open to other brands though if its truly that much better!!

Also, I need to know where you guys shop for parts. I'm serious, it seems like I have to shop multiple stores to put together an order. I'm doing it wrong.

I'm kinda doing it all wrong. :(

My fav tank for cheap coils was the Fat Scylla Sv no idea if it still exists but it's a screwed top anyway, you're kinda limiting your options though if you're not into smok and such there's not alot of companies i know that have cool mechanism to open the top. MY favorite tiny box mod though was the aspire nx 75 goes up to 75 watts if you ever need it, but it uses external 18650s (no idea if you're using some already but i'm saying it anyway).
Otherwise i know Aspire makes other mods like the nx30 that has an internal battery i think.

NB: if none of these appeal to you someone else will surely come along and have more options than i know.

Btw that aspire nx75 with most tanks looks cute af :p no idea why it just does imho.

Since you like the mello 3 I’d say go for a stock eleaf pico. It’s a good mod, it’s cheap, and you get a new tank to replace your worn out one that uses the coils you already have.

Update

oops, you’ve already got a pico, lol. In that case I’d go with @Bonskibon ’s suggestion. You can replace your mello3 with anything you feel like. The mello3 is supposed to be not too bad for a drop in coil tank though so you may just want to get another unless you just want a change. The well crown3 is also well thought of iirc. If you want to move up to bare coil tanks and really save money on coils the obs engine nano will fit your device well.

You can save your Pico by using an external charger instead of charging through the device.
I concur. Microusb2 will eventually break. It’s just not designed for the kind of wear a power port gets, and currently there are very very few mods with usbC. A good charger will cost about the same as a low cost mod, and the ability to instantly recharge your mod by popping in a fresh battery is just flat out nice.

The crown tanks I never see locally? Do they take coils that I can only find online?

I honestly don’t know. I use standard coils rather than cartridges so I’ve never had reason to shop. Iirc the best thing about the crown 3 is the coil. I’m not a cartridge expert. Others here know much more about them. I’m just parroting advice given by them to others.

The original Crown tanks are my absolute favorite. I have three that I put different flavors in. Easy top fill. Wide variation of airflow with the ratcheted control ring. Authentic Uwell Crown Sub Ohm Tank Clearomizer

I buy all my gear online. I purchased both my tanks and replacement coils at Fast Tech. It may take 2 - 3 weeks for the order to be delivered, but I always plan ahead, and the price is right. There are different coils available, I prefer the 0.5 ohm coils. Replacement Coil Head for Uwell Crown Clearomizer (5-Pack)

The Vaporesso Estoc is a 4ml tank with top-fill (screw off/on). Great flavor well below its 40 Watt limit and it uses Vaporesso's EUC coils. Those are almost half the cost of Atlantis, Triton or Eleaf EC coils and they last for twice as long.

Flavor wise, for a drop-in coil tank it has beaten or met every other tank I've tried and its cost of operation is the lowest out there, IMO.

Spend the money to get an external charger. You can get an Efest Luc V2 two-bay charger for about $20 shipped. That's what I have. If you just get another mod and keep jacking a cable in to charge it, you're just gonna have this problem all over again in a few months.

Check out the GeekVape Aegis kit. It's a solid mod (I own two) and the Shield tank the kit comes with takes regular Smok Baby Beast coils.
I also own an ageis. It has some advantages and disadvantages.
Pros:
Extremely rugged. really!
Will take a 30mm atty without blinking
Good hand feel
Has a bypass mode which makes it act just like a mech if you want without the dangers
Has a custom ramp mode which will allow it to act like a tc device with kanthal wire

Cons:
Very large and heavy for a single battery device
Has no power port. You MUST use a charger and swap batteries

I bought a new device.... and you guys talked me into extra batteries, and an EFEST LUC V2 Charger...

I had to dang near make a spreadsheet to find the one with the most of what I wanted.

Settled on the Vaporesso Revenger... I did not get the touchscreen version, just the regular.
The NRG coils and my Hubby's baby beast coils seem like they'll be interchangeable. So I can get local if I need too. That is nice. The NRG tank has the slide to fill option. Never had such a big device, but I've used the Alien/Beast and a few other smok products. I know generally what I'm in for.
NRG coils are ~3/$9 or so. (eek) Haven't shopped around.

The other devices that made my wishlist:
Coil prices are aproximate and only based on the one webstie I was using. lol.

Cupti -- 5ml internal glass tank sounded so nice as I break tanks... I just Couldnt get over lack of options. 1 battery, 5ml tank, spill proof. Coils .5ohm ~5/$15. Would probably love it.

Joytech Cuboid Tap-- It was the only way to get the Aries tank that I saw.. lots of great stats , but I dont know how i feel about haptic feedback buttons.... eh. 2batt, 4ml tank, flip to fill lid. Coils .4ohm ~5/$10. Would probably love it.

Wisemec Preditor - Lots of great stuff... 2 batt, 4.9ml tank, slide to fill. Coils ~5/$12. I Would probably love it.

Aegies - I could only find a box? See below.
Crown Tank -- I would probably love it, but I guess I really wanted a whole new setup.
Vapresso -- ccell coils -- these things seem to be sold out everywhere. My MIL has been on backorder for 3 weeks. I was stearing clear of them even though they do seem to be awesome.

Pico has been my only daily vape & I've abused it - . The efleaf coils were duds a lot, Triton coils were better but I dont love the flavor as much as some of the other tanks I've had on bigger mods. When I broke the usb.. I realized how frustrated I was overall... It was just time for me to move away from it as my only vape. It will make a great back up forever probably, I do technically have the anyvape RBA coil for it. :) Just never used it.

Thank y'all!

I know people will call me paranoid, but I could never use or recommend the Aegis or any other device where the battery vent holes are pointed directly at your face. Sure with a regulated device the probability of catastrophe is low, but if it does happen to you, do you want those super heated gasses going straight to your face?
